Took me a long time to nail this issue down. Recently (past 1-2 years?), Firefox has started suggesting the base website when you have bookmarks that include the base domain - and it's really bothersome from a UX perspective. E.g. if i have "adobe.com/express" or any other adobe bookmarks, the FIRST autocompleted url Firefox gives me is "adobe.com" which I DO NOT have as a bookmark. In my Firefox settings I also have Shortcuts and other search suggestions disabled.

Why is Firefox doing this?

I'm using Firefox 100 on Win10 and can't save any bookmarks. They do NOT appear under the App Data Profile, which would not be acceptable even if they were. This change has made it impossible for me to continue using Firefox, unless I want to go back to Win7.

I simply need Bookmarks to work the way they did before!

Drag-drop bookmarking broken, Firefox 102.0 (64 bit)

I do not know which update began exhibiting this apparent reversion bug, as i have just returned home from several weeks in the hospital due to a heart attack, and do not know how many updates i missed.

When doing a drag-drop of a URL from either a link on a page OR the address line at the top of the browser, I will receive a "sanity failure" error, ranging from an empty NON-URL file, to an OS error complaining about being unable to access an attempted directory destination.

If the link I am dragging is bereft of illegal characters (i.e., ":" -- a colon), the action will succeed.

If there IS a colon, the text to the LEFT of the colon will become the filename. The colon and everything to its right will be truncated. And, the file will be a zero-byte file of unknown (to me) type.

Other illegal characters in the page's Title field will produce more dramatic misbehavior.

PLEASE revert to the previous behavior (i.e., filtering the Title before creating the filename for the bookmark file)!

Earlier versions of Firefox (again, I do not know when this began) NEVER exhibited this behavior.

Hi... I did a Firefox refresh today. Prior to the refresh, my bookmarks were displayed of the left side of the browser page... now they are not. I can still see and access my bookmarks if I go into manage bookmarks. But, I can not figure out how to get them displayed as before. Would appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thank in advance.

Why has my firefox browser failed to connect with my banking website?

I've been a long-time fan of Firefox's bookmarks management system, but over the past year, I've encountered a persistent issue that's affecting my productivity. I regularly use the bookmark bar and organize my bookmarks into folders. However, any changes I make don't seem to stick and get reset after a period of time. This is especially frustrating as I heavily rely on bookmarks to keep my browsing organized. Problem Details

Here's what typically happens:

1. I add a bookmark to a specific folder or position, either in the general list of bookmarks or on the bookmark toolbar.
2. Sometime later, that bookmark leaves its designated position and moves to the bottom of the unsorted list of bookmarks.

Devices and Operating Systems

• MacBook M1 2020 running macOS Monterey
• Dell Alienware 17 r5 running Windows 10

Both devices have the latest version of Firefox installed, and I use Firefox Sync to keep my bookmarks and settings consistent across these devices. Suspicion

I suspect that this issue occurs when I make a change to bookmarks on one computer and then open Firefox on the other computer. The bookmarks seem to reset, possibly due to some issue with Firefox Sync.

When opening the following bookmark https://www.youtube.com/@msolrecords I end up with https://www.youtube.com/msolrecords and page not found. If I type the @ it works. When I use Microsoft Edge Browser in the top row it shows my Bookmarks and to the left it also shows an icon that allows you to jump back to the Edge Browser.

In Mozilla Firefox there is no icon to take you back to the Firefox browser. Occasionally a site will Hi-Jack you and trying to use the back arrow to get back to the Browser does not work. The only solution is to shut down the Firefox browser and then restart it again.

I would rather use Firefox as it support HTML 5 audio which is not supported in Microsoft Edge.

Can you please advise.

I was trying to solve a hanging issue with firefox and following a 'tip' I changed the name of places.sq.lite to places.sq.lite.old I figured the renamed file would be there to back-up from if something went wrong and although the hanging issue seems to have been fixed I have lost hundreds of links that have taken ages to put together.

Where is sq.lite.old located as it is missing from the original folder? It is not in my recycle bin so renaming it to old hasn't simply deleted it. In another folder there are bookmark backups with dates (JSONLZ4 files) but I have no idea how to get my old links back from them, if indeed that is what they are for.

Please help.

I used this tablet for many years and got lots of bookmarks on my browser, but recently its antenna stopped working. I did some research and found out you can export the bookmarks from firefox even if you cant connect to the internet to use the sync functionality. I rooted the phone, copied the browser.db file from firefox and exported the bookmarks table with SQLite Browser. I read on some verry old (6-8 Years ago) threads on this forum that they imported the bookmarks.csv they got from the db in excel, then modified it in some sense and then exported it to a html file to import that in firefox. I did everything to where i have the whole table in excel, only need to know what i need to modify in it.

The bookmarks scrolling issue since the last update remains, and there has been zero response from support regarding it, no matter who's asked about it.

How about this - when is the next FF update expected? I'm sick and tired of wasting time using a browser that only lets you open one bookmark at a time, and expects you to scroll down through all of them each time you need to access a different one since it no longer holds its place like it did before the last update. And I'm sick and tired of wasting time reporting an issue to "support" only for it to be ignored.

Good morning, Recently I discovered there are two maps called "Andere bladwijzers" in my Firefox browser. I deleted a submap in the second map and noticed this submap had also disappeared in the first map. Is there something I must do or can I leave these two large maps as it is? Since upgrading to Firefox 99.0.1 when I bookmark a web page into a specific folder, the URL does not appear when I open that folder. A restart of Firefox does not fix the issue.

But if I try to Bookmark the same page again, I am asked to edit it. So it must be in the folder but it is not visible! Help!

I am not too good with the computer and have just starting using Firefox. I will do my best to describe my question so please bar with me. I have 2 rows of websites that I frequent...actually only using the first row and 5 spaces in the second row. When I go to a different website Firefox is automatically adding that website to one of the boxes in the second row which I do not want. How do I stop this? Question 2...using Ebay as an example...if I keep searching on Ebay and have looked at lets say 5 different pages how do I go back to the home screen without having to hit the back button 6 times? I used to be able to access all bookmarks from the Library icon on the address toolbar. Now, it only shows a list of what it labels "recent bookmarks" (the bookmarks shown are really not recent). I would like to be able to open the Library and access all bookmarks, which is the way it used to work. I will attach a screen shot to illustrate what I mean.

I imported bookmarks from Chrome. I used it for a long time, so I've got 600-some-odd bookmarks in a lot of subfolders. Nested folders are the only way I find what I need.

I followed this advice https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1366211 - I bookmarked the page. - I "edit bookmark," highlighting the parent folder that's visible on the bookmarks bar. - I click the right-most down arrow. That displays only directories visible on the bookmarks tool bar. - The right-most arrow operates as a toggle between showing the desired parent directory only all of the parent directories visible on the bookmarks tool bar.

In case it matters, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox this week, so it's up to date.
