I wanted to move the Firefox's automatically created bookmark folder "Other Bookmarks" into another folder (called To Sort folder). The folder was moved to the new location but it also remained in the "root" bookmarks folder. I tried to get it to be the other way round so that the "to-Sort" folder will be in the Bookmarks folder but- Trying to move it back it created a loop. Now when I go into the Other Bookmarks folder I can see the "To Sort" and it has a folder in it called "Other Bookmarks", which has the repeated same links and again the "To Sort" which has the "Other Bookmarks" which has the "To Sort" --> etc. ad infinitum

Recently I accidentially deleted some bookmarks. I tried a recovery from my latest automatic bookmark recovery session and also from the day before. This worked only partially. All bookmarks and the bookmark folder structure has been restored, but seperately. I now have about seventy empty folders and about 2000 bookmarks not in their folders but all in the "root" folder. The information about which bookmark was in which folder, is lost.

Any idea how this could be fixed? I'm using an up to date version of firefox 115.8.0esr.

I've had this site that i have no recollection of visiting always there, pinned at the top of my search suggestions but i never bothered with it, till today when i decided to remove it.

I tried all the things i can think of and searched for a solution to no avail, any help is appreciated.

I've used Firefox forever, have a lot of bookmarks, when searching bookmarks max 9 results display. Usually can finally find by adding search criteria, but getting hard to find. Is there a way to return more results in a search keywords than 9? Cannot find an option to to that. Thanks.

I thought I had two different accounts. Home, with my personal email and work, with my work email. My work computer crashed a few months ago, and out IT department was able to recover all my bookmarks, but it wasn't easy, so I was told. I decided to do what I do at home and that was to create an account for work, which I did. I now have an account for home with it's own bookmarks, and email, and a work account with it's own bookmarks and totally different email. I recently got a work phone. In the process of setting it up I synced it up with my work account. when I came home tonight I got online and all my work bookmarks were on my home computer. How did this happen? Now I don't have my home bookmarks. I tried signing out and signing back in with my home account, but no luck. This is very frustrating especially since they are two totally different accounts. SO, how do I get my home bookmarks back on my home computer? Thanks

hello! hope you are doing well, I recently got this problem where the bookmark bar does not appear on my browser even though it is on the "always show" option, it appears when I first open the browser, but once I enter any site, it disappears again, even on new tabs, and when I try different options for the BM, it makes it appear for one use only. I tried looking for solutions on the internet but to no avail. can you help me fix it? thank you in advance!

Hi! I did a "refresh" on firefox. How do I recover my bookmarks and passwords? There is a folder on my desktop named "OLD FIREFOX DATA" but I have no clue how to use the information contained in said folder.

Good morning, Recently I discovered there are two maps called "Andere bladwijzers" in my Firefox browser. I deleted a submap in the second map and noticed this submap had also disappeared in the first map. Is there something I must do or can I leave these two large maps as it is? Using the menu line, if I click Bookmark>bookmark current tab, it used to bring up a box where I could edit the tab name and location of where to save that tab. Now, in Dec 2023, it bookmarks it but does not bring up this box. In order to see where the bookmark is, I have to again select Bookmark, EDIT this bookmark. Is there a setting I need to now adjust to bring up that box when bookmarking for the first time? I have W10 and updated Firefox.

When I use Microsoft Edge Browser in the top row it shows my Bookmarks and to the left it also shows an icon that allows you to jump back to the Edge Browser.

In Mozilla Firefox there is no icon to take you back to the Firefox browser. Occasionally a site will Hi-Jack you and trying to use the back arrow to get back to the Browser does not work. The only solution is to shut down the Firefox browser and then restart it again.

I would rather use Firefox as it support HTML 5 audio which is not supported in Microsoft Edge.

Can you please advise.

Hi there, Trouble is never far away from windows 10, as I had (yet again) to reset my whole notebook and Firefox and cannot recover previous bookmarks, nor the side bar. I am absolutely throttled on this as all seems unresponsive. I have found a copy of old firefox but it won´t swallow it. How can I get out of this situation which catches me out everytime. keep it simple

I was using Firefox on windows 10 laptop, everything was synced with my account. Now after switching to Ubuntu I can't see my bookmarks, Just an empty toolbar. Now I don't have access to my old laptop, I sold it.

Any help?

For years, I have had the Bookmark Toolbar always show on my initial page and all tabs at the top of page. Something happened and now it does not. I have tried resetting per instructions and it will show on my current page but then not show up my new tab and will disappear from the initial page. I tried a refresh to correct and that did not work either. I was able to get them to show on the left side of the screen but I much prefer them at the top and want to get back to that layout.

Many of my bookmarks are corrupted. They point to other websites, not the bookmarked one. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? Thanks for any info/advice. George

I added an Add-On to try it called [by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox] Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox which I have since removed as the Add-On has corrupted my Bookmarks. When I click 'Show Sidebars' my Bookmarks don't show (thought they are there) but it's as though the font is white making it impossible to see them.

If I click Bookmarks I can see them and/or when I click on Manage Bookmarks that option opens and I can see all my Bookmarks. This only happened after I added "Notes by Firefox by Mozilla Firefox" Add-On. I was thinking there could be possibility it could have been caused by changing the appearance to Dark Mode, (for example Facebook or Twitter, etc).

There must be a better fix then to refresh / restore Firefox to its default settings as I have about 90 Tabs Open

I used this tablet for many years and got lots of bookmarks on my browser, but recently its antenna stopped working. I did some research and found out you can export the bookmarks from firefox even if you cant connect to the internet to use the sync functionality. I rooted the phone, copied the browser.db file from firefox and exported the bookmarks table with SQLite Browser. I read on some verry old (6-8 Years ago) threads on this forum that they imported the bookmarks.csv they got from the db in excel, then modified it in some sense and then exported it to a html file to import that in firefox. I did everything to where i have the whole table in excel, only need to know what i need to modify in it.

Drag-drop bookmarking broken, Firefox 102.0 (64 bit)

I do not know which update began exhibiting this apparent reversion bug, as i have just returned home from several weeks in the hospital due to a heart attack, and do not know how many updates i missed.

When doing a drag-drop of a URL from either a link on a page OR the address line at the top of the browser, I will receive a "sanity failure" error, ranging from an empty NON-URL file, to an OS error complaining about being unable to access an attempted directory destination.

If the link I am dragging is bereft of illegal characters (i.e., ":" -- a colon), the action will succeed.

If there IS a colon, the text to the LEFT of the colon will become the filename. The colon and everything to its right will be truncated. And, the file will be a zero-byte file of unknown (to me) type.

Other illegal characters in the page's Title field will produce more dramatic misbehavior.

PLEASE revert to the previous behavior (i.e., filtering the Title before creating the filename for the bookmark file)!

Earlier versions of Firefox (again, I do not know when this began) NEVER exhibited this behavior.
