my computer was shut off unexpectedly and my bookmarks lost and i try solution two in this article http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional but nothing happened i have copy of my bookmark on my computer i import them but some page i bookmarked not appear in this copy and i do reset to firefox and no thing happened again please i need soultoin to recover my lost bookmark

in explorer they will be in o folder called favorites i think it must something like that in firefox but i cant find it

I decided to format my computer and wanted to backup my bookmarks etc. I created a firefox sync account and synced them. When i was done i tried to sync my bookmarks back to the computer but failed. Now all my bookmarks are gone. Is there any way to retrieve that information from one of your servers?

I click the blue star on the link address I want to remove from my book mark list, then click "remove bookmark", the link remains in my bookmark list. In other words, no change has taken place. How do I actually REMOVE it?

My computer had to go in for repairs, and now the bookmarks are gone. I've searched Profiles, done Google searches, everything. Is there any hope as to where I could find them?

Using Mac OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) Firefox 17.01.

Each time it asked to to import bookmarks - I have done this numerous times - nothing gets imported (Safari).

Currently using Chrome because of this.

I am running Firefox 3.6.18 on Mac OS 10.4.11. My precious bookmarks have disappeared. I find that the j.son documents in the bookmark back up file are blank. I have tried to access the places.sqlite files in profiles but they appear as jumbled code (some bookmarks from Safari are however there).Does anyone have any ideas how I can retrieve my bookmarks? I'm not technical so layman's terms would be appreciated.

Would the "favorite bookmarked" websites be saved on a normal HD back up

old computer crashed out and i normally back up,, bit i never thought to back up fav sites

Somehow some bookmarks are on my toolbar uninvited and I can't seem to remove them. I have looked at all the labels but there does not seem to be a place where they are identified as going in the toolbar EXCEPT when first setting them up. Please help (I love the bookmark toolbar). Thank you!

After clicking "Bookmarks," the drop-down, headed by "Show All Bookmarks," lists all website addresses that I have selected to be added to the list by bookmarking them. It is now a huge list and I want to be able to manage it. The "Show All Bookmarks" page appears to have no connection with this list. How do I get the data into the "Show All Bookmarks" page?

This morning I opened firefox as usual and found that a sidebar for bookmarks on the left side of this page. I did not request this to open and I want it removed from my computer. I do not like the way it uses up the space on the page. I have tried to open firefox in safe mode but his did not clear it. If I can not remove this sidebar I will want to close firefox.

New Win8 laptop, latest Firefox. Since XP in '03 I've always run 2 users on the computer - Admin (for installing apps, etc) and a non-admin user for everyday use. Is there any way to keep bookmarks 'common' between the 2 users? (When I'm 'Admin' I want access to the same bookmarks).

It appears my user profile has changed somehow.

I am running Vista SP2 Home Premium with Firefox 17. My settings are the same as the were yesterday (the last time Firefox worked properly), but when I opened Firefox this morning my bookmarks are missing and I cannot add new bookmarks. Also, when attempting to view my history in "Library" nothing is listed, but if I let my cursor sit on "History" without clicking on it (i.e. without opening "Library"), the most recent pages I visited yesterday are listed.

UPDATE: Forgot to mention that none of my toolbars are present and the Add-ons Manager under "Firefox\Add-ons" does not show any plugins, whereas all plugins are shown by accessing "Enabled plugins" via "Troubleshooting Information."

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to import bookmarks from my Safari 5.1.7 to Firefox 18.0 within my Mac OS X 10.6.8. I backed up and then deleted the out of date Firefox bookmarks (don't know where they came from when I installed Firefox last month), made an .html file from my Safari bookmarks, followed the directions herein to the letter, and the Safari bookmarks did not transfer.

When I click on Bookmarks none of them show up which I imported from IE 10? I followed the steps in the answers' section to the t. Please advise.

i have just downloaded mozilla firefox as my new browser, despite downloading the toolbar i have no bookmarks button by the home key, its nowhere else either, if this cant be fixed ill swap but would rather not have to, ill also want to see if my old book marks can be added they did when i first decied on google chrome regards nicky
