I have been having problems with firefox lately. Every time I try to run the program it automatically closes without giving an error message. I am running Windows 10 and this happens in safe mode as well. I have tried doing a clean install of firefox - that did not fix the problem. I tried deleting my profile after uninstalling then doing a fresh install, this did not fix the problem either. I ran a virus scan and did not detect any malware. I don't know what else to try.

tell me who knows, how to stop all tabs? Even when I enable the "offline mode", tabs with heavy javascript continue trying to load, consuming CPU resources. I want they to stop immideately. I tried different extensions, but results are unsatisfactory. Does anybody know some trick? My goal is to find a method to flush all javascript structures in RAM. I explored about:memory, and tried the vmmap.exe (process memory analyzer) from the Sysinternals Suite, but I have not succeeded so far. Auto unload tab -- is not a solution. For example I clicked on links and opened 30 tabs in background. PC starts working very slow, Now I want to stop all them, and to read the loaded information (webpages). How to do it? I think it is the weakest side of Firefox. Needed to abrupt all attempts to make network connection, after the "offline mode" is enabled. I need something to stop javascript's attempts to connect, to calm it down. I want to start read webpages already loaded, and javascript occupies CPU. To kill threads in the Process Manager is not a way to do at all, Auto-unload also, I want to read those webpages. I have enough of RAM, it is not used more then a half. Many years ago, when there was HTML4, I used for a little the Maxton browser. It had a button to stop all pages. All similiar Firefox extensions do not act effectively like that. the issue not in scarcity of RAM, but in a badly design of browser's architecture, that javascript occupies users' PCs.

I don't just mean the autofill for logins and passwords as i have seen this. I want it for things like name, address, email, DOB etc If you could also direct me to it through the array of options in the settings. Thanks for your help

I recently went to Twitter with Firefox v. 72.0.2 on my Windows 10 desktop, and Twitter loaded the mobile version of the page and told me it was because I was using an older version of Internet Explorer. So, I cleared all of my history and cache and tried it again, and it was okay. Then a couple of hours later, I went to Twitter again and again I got the mobile version of the webpage and I got the previous error message. All I had to do to correct it that time was load the page again. And, yes, it accuses me of having an older version of "Internet Explorer."

What gives?

The Symptom:

1) In case of browsing https://stock.adobe.com/ only,

2) httpd returns 400 Error (cf. attached image).

3) when I use private mode, everything works perfect. I can browse, login and any other things.

4) Happens only in one Windows10 PC.

What I have checked:

1) Erased all cookies of *.adobe.com -> 400 Error

2) Browse with firefox on other PC -> IT WORKS!

3) Browse with Chrome on the same/other PC -> IT WORKS!

4) Launch firefox in safemode and disabled all add-ons -> 400 Error

5) Browse the site in Private mode-> IT WORKS!

6) Tried to read http headers by Dev. Tools (see the attached figure)-> No Idea! (unfortunately)

7) When I requested favicon.ico and roborts.txt, the both always returned 200 status code and they are fine.

Question:

According to my troubleshooting, It must be clientside problem. I did everything I can think of, but 400 httpd error persists, only in one PC, this firefox only. What is the possible cause?

I've had a problem on a particular page on my website that has resisted all attempts at analysis and fixing for years: the page renders in Western font in my FF browser (in all my PCs), whilst in a colleague's browser (from another country) it renders fine in Unicode. It also renders fine in Unicode on my PC when using Chrome, and Edge, and Opera. Only Firefox is a problem.

I would be happy if I could just tell FF to render every single page I ever visit in Unicode by default. But I have go to View > Text Encoding > Unicode every single time I visit this page.

For info, I'll paste everything in the page before the <body> tag:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <title>xxx</title> <base href="https://www.xxx.com/templates/en/admin/Gross_Profit_Reports.html"></base> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/reset.css?revision=1794" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/text.css?revision=1794" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css?revision=1794" type="text/css" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://www.xxx.com/templates/en/images/favicon.gif" /> <script src="../js/jquery-1.9.1.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="../js/jquery.stickytableheaders.min.js"type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script src="../js/sspextras.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../js/common.js"></script> <meta charset="utf-8"></head>

Although we use <meta charset="utf-8"> now, we've previously had it as <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">, but that has been similarly unsuccessful.

I'm happy to make changes on the browser side in the webpage, but I really want to solve this. Grateful for any help.

I have to right click on a window to open a new one or have all of them not in the main screen, and I don't want to do that because it is not how it is supposed to work. What has happened? I permanently have multiple browser windows open with specific sites i check every single morning when the PC gets turned on so I don't have to search for anything. What is going on peoples?

I'm getting "Error code: SEC_ERROR_CA_CERT_INVALID" on every page. (Full details in screenshot)

I've tried accessing google and reddit, which I had been browsing no problem, but no luck. I can't even access Mozilla help. And I haven't been able to bypass anything.

I've been googling this (on Chrome! yuck!), with no luck. If I stumbled upon the answer, I wasn't tech savvy enough to recognize or implement it.

Could someone give me a hand?

Is it a bug or a design decision. I mean if I have a lot of opened tabs and I intend to close just one tab, then a slight delay in releasing the key combination would result in closing rest of the tabs. Shouldn't it be like Press and Release key combination to perform the corresponding action which would ensure the action is performed just once. That is what it was like on Chrome and Edge.

Ad-ons Permission - Access your data for all websites - Concerns, elaboration required

Please pardon my ignorance regarding this topic, but I cannot help having several questions after having read Firefox "Permission request messages for Firefox extensions" (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/permission-request-messages-firefox-extensions#w_access-your-data-for-all-websites), particularly "Access your data for all websites" Permission:

"The extension can read the content of any web page you visit as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords." -Scary!

Note: These questions are not related to a particular extension and/or developer, these are merely questions regarding all extensions requiring "Access your data for all websites" Permission. Any and all references made to any particular extension in this thread are for the sole purposes to facilitate discussion and/or visualization, and Not to be construed in any negative manner on my part. I am merely seeking clarification regarding security concerns I and/or others may have in the future and perhaps aid browser development team, the community and extension developers to improve its security documentation and/or functions.

Questions:

1. Does that mean said extensions can read the content of any and "ALL" web page you visit as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords "EVER" visited in the past and in the future?

2. Regardless whether or not such extensions disabled?

3. Regardless whether or not web page is open and/or sign-in?

4. Regardless if a Firefox Login "Master Password" is being used?

5. Other than not using such extensions, what precautions users can take to minimize/eliminate such security breaches?

6. How can such extensions have a Firefox "Recommended" designation?

7. Why "some" such extensions opt to collect contributions "outside" Mozilla's Add-ons extension's landing page? Could that be used to raise a suspicious concerns?

8. Can extensions change their current permissions to a higher level from their initial installation via an user requested update performed from within Firefox's Extensions utility without the users knowledge?

9. How can users discern when extensions has a legitimate need for "Access your data for all websites" permission?

10. Do download extensions (and others) need "Access your data for all websites" permission along, and if so why (...is it due to browser technical limitation)?

11. Would it be possible for Mozilla's Add-ons extension's landing page to display whether or not "Access your data for all websites" is necessary and why?

These concerns came up when searching for a YouTube download extension.

Example: "Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express" by Dishita (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/easy-youtube-video-download/?src=search)

Apologies for lengthy questions. Thank you!

PS: Quick response would be appreciated.

Using the latest version of Firefox 72.0.2 (64-bit) running in Windows 10. When I type into the Firefox Address bar I get Incorrect special characters. When I type a forward Slash /, instead I get a dash - the same happens with other special character using a QWRTY keyboard on a laptop. When I type anywhere else either using the Chrome and Edge Browser, Wordpad, Notepad, MS Word or inside any webpage textbox control; I don´t get these errors. This only happens when typing into the Forefox Browser address bar or any webpage textbox control when using the Firefox browser.
