My system recently slowed considerably. When I checked what was happening, I found there were up to 14 Firefox 'windows' showing in my Task Manager, and collectively these 'windows' were consuming over 25% of the computer memory (650+MB) even with Firefox just opened as the initial browser screen; no addresses etc had yet to be added. I've followed many of the troubleshooting suggestions, but to no avail. I have not reset the browser as yet as I need to understand the root of the problem

why doesn't my theme stay engaged?I have 4 computers and I am constantly having to engage my fav theme on them all all the time.

Theme: Animated Dark fox theme with spinning globe and glow effect.

Firefox is my default browser; however, when I click on a link, MS Edge opens it instead of Firefox even thought Firefox is already opened. How can I prevent that from happening?

hello everyone; i have a strange issue with my yubikey and firefox on redhat linux 8. (i can't upgrade to red hat 9 and it's technically oracle linux)

its works fine for the first x hours (where x is usually between 1 and 3 hours) and then firefox will invariably stop recognizing the yubikey touch. yubikey works with any other application in that journalctl shows that systemd is aware of it's existence when i plug/unplug it and i get a string in my terminal and text editors whenever i touch they key both before and after it stops working with firefox.

i've tried these things but the behavior is still the same: - regenerating my ~/.mozilla configuration directory - toggling all *webauth* keys in about:config - switching from yum to flatpak firefox installation - switching from gnome to kde to xfce - switching from Wayland to X11

there are no error messages; journalctl doesn't show any either; and chrome doesn't seem to have this problem, but i don't trust chrome and, interestingly, chrome exhibits the same behavior when using xfce.

the only thing that works reliability is rebooting each time it happens and, as you can imagine, that's 100% intrusive and i lose all momentum in my productivity.

I have support licensing from both Oracle and Yubikey and i've asked them for help and they both point the finger at each other so i'm stuck with this; any help would be appreciated!

A couple of weeks ago, a message came from Firefox saying - do I want the facility of opening a Firefox window on starting it? I thought that would be a confirmation of my existing setting of opening Firefox with the previous tabs. But no. Firefox now opens a separate blank window in addition to the previous window with the tabs.

How can I stop the opening of an additional blank window, which I now have to delete everytime? Thank you

A few days ago I accidentally deleted my browsing history and I have lost some pages that I need to revisit, is there a way to get the browsing history back as of 12/20/2023

New Firefox is making me angry everytime I use it. New tabs are doing what they want, they never open near the site that i'm watching. Sometimes they open in the middle of other tabs, sometimes at the end. That is so problematic and frustrating that i would download an opera if i can't change it. I use about 90 tabs and that's the way I'm using Internet, I won't change it. I have searched in settings but there is nothing. Old mozilla haven't done this. Can someone help me?

I did an hardreset to my computer yesterday, today I logged in to my FireFox account and now all of my stuff (History, Passwords, Bookmarks) are from 2020. I don't have any backup, what do I do?

I've had a security breach where a Discord user got access to an email account. I'm going through all computers to make sure there is no malware that might be related to discord. I found one item in my download preferences that says "discord' but everything I've tried won't allow me to erase it. Any information on what this might be? and how/if I should erase it? (In fact, I don't know what any of the items are in my content types)

Hi,ey Since a while, whenever firefox starts lagging, the space key is registered after other keys are pressed. I.e. when i type something like "this is a test" i get something like "thisisat est"; the space key is taken into account but at some random moment after some other keys are taken into account. What couldbe the cause and what can I do to stop this ? Thanks ! Ted

Could we get a totp authenticator for Firefox. I've been using Authy. They used to have a version for all OSs, Linux, Mac, and Windows - as well as Apple and Google phones. They have just discontinued their desktop apps. I was thinking wouldn't it be great if an authenticator was built into Firefox? I envisage it working like a password manager insofar as the authenticator code gets autopopulated.

This could either be built in or offered as an extension. The later may be more palatable lest the corporate overlords label Mozilla as troublesome.

Any links from rcsearch.ru to aliexpress is broken in firefox, but works in another browsers. For example click any aliexpress link here rcsearch.ru/-c48920.

Sometimes when I open a new tab and start typing an address, the tab disappears as if it never existed. Don't know how to replicate it, as it is random and happens just often enough to disturb me. Also not sure at which point the tab dissappears, while I am typing or when I hit enter.

I have a bunch of stuff on my LAN, all with static IPs (so I can find things). New Reolink security camera can't be accessed via a browser and it's static IP.

Am I truly unable to have access to my own LAN? There has to be a way around this, doesn't there?
