Hello. From time to time, when using firefox I find that firefox-bin process uses very high cpu process (on top command output it shows even more that 100% (i don't understand those specs)) It doesen't seem related to any specific website. I close tabs one by one and it remains the same. Even when closing firefox window, firefox-bin remains using 100% cpu for about 1 minute or so. Then a crash message appears, and I click send report.

I looked at the article about keyboard shortcuts, but it didn't say if there was a way to disable any of them. It seems often when I'm typing, instead of hitting the backspace key, I accidentally hit the F12 and it pops into development mode. I won't be doing any development in the near future (or probably any time) so I'd like to disable that one for convenience. Thanks

I am unable to login to firefox accounts .

I have the correct Email and Password, but it keeps asking me for the conformation code sent to the email for login, but i dont have access to the Email as the password is saved in sync server.

I mean the Lockwise Sync server. No i don't have any device currently logged in to Sync. I recently Formatted my PC, So all files for password manager were lost(I synced the logins to the server before formatting my pc hoping that the Login id and Password for the Accounts would be enough to retrieve them ) and am trying to retrieve the logins.

No luck with the login links i can login but cannot change anything in the settings, it says :

" NOTE: Before you can view or make changes to this section, you will need to verify your email address. "

So any way i try it is asking for the conformation code sent to my Email address Whose password is stuck in my sync server.

About 4 to 6 weeks ago I messed up my main/home/Whatever named file:///home/kline/.mozilla/local/hotlist.html <an html file with 2-deep links to other bookmarks>. Upon reboot I must have done *something* that messed up everything. The "3-dot", "pocket", "star" was either moved leftward or vanished ... Now that clever 4-icon { |||\ } that used to bring up whatever I had bookmark was gone.

Noticed that silent printing doesn't work starting from new Firefox 78. Now I can't even find "print.always_print_silent" settings in about:config using this instruction:

   Set up the receipt printer as your default printer in the Devices/Printers screen.
   In Firefox, type in “about:config” and hit Enter.
   A dialogue box will appear, press “I’ll be careful, I promise.”
   Right click, select New | Boolean.
   Type in: print.always_print_silent
   Select True, then OK.

Could you please, maybe this setting was renamed or deleted?

Hi. I'm using Linux Mint 20. I wanted to go back to Windows 10. Under Linux I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. I checked the installation file on the VirusTotal page. VirusTotal showed that the exe file contains the Win.MxResIcn.Heur.Gen trojan and the msi file contains Attention.APT-Bait.ContainShellCode! 1.9E28. Earlier installation files also contained some surprises. I don't think my Linux system contains any viruses. Installations of other browsers such as Opera or Chrome do not have these "add-ons". Interestingly, if I paste the link to the installation file into VirusTotal - there are no surprises. What is going on?

Ubuntu 20.04 Firefox 78.0.2

Google maps is unable to access my location even though I have given permission in the Location settings on FF. As soon as I open GMaps on the browser, I get a "Your location could not be determined" message, and the Current Location button is grayed out. I have cleared all cookies and Google data, restarted browser, checked about:config, In the Address bar I have removed and re-allowed location access numerous times as well as in the Firefox settings, turned off Enhanced Tracking Protection in the address bar, restarted the browser, still not working. Everywhere in all the settings I can think of access is allowed, yet the problem persists.

I am on Firefox 78 with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The issue does not happen with Chrome.

Can anybody help out on this issue? Thanks!

In order to resume a download, there are currently far too many steps required to make it very user-friendly, as seen [here].

There should be a better, integrated way to reliably resume downloads, such as having the reload button next to the file automatically resume the download instead of starting it over.

This is especially important for very large files such as ISO's and archives.

I just did a fresh installed of Linux Mint 20 to replace 19. I was lazy and forgot to to look at at my firefox password before install. I went through password reset and all my bookmarks and saved logins/passwords do not show up now. Using v. 78.0.2

For the last few Firefox versions (currently running 78), Google news doesn't load completely unless I immediately scroll down to the bottom of the page after accessing the site. If I wait a few minutes and scroll down, thumbnails are missing on several stories, and many of the stories don't load. All I see is a rotating arrow, as though something is waiting to load, but nothing more happens. If I scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page, every story loads normally. This happens with Win 10 and OpenSuSE Tumbleweed, both with the most recent updates this week, and others over the past few months.

Do I need to change settings? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
