I have a desktop and laptop both with FF installed and synced and they ALWAYS load identical. Yesterday I set up my my new desktop in my office and I installed FF and when I logged onto my account my FF stayed the default color. This never happened before, and as I turned and looked at my old desktop I saw that it too now had the wrong theme. So I went into my kitchen were I have my laptop set up (it just upgraded itself to win 11 and I am using it as a training tool) the FF on it was no longer appearing correctly.

I have since spent 30 some hours uninstalling/reinstalling FF/ deleting my profile, remaking my profile, re-deleting my profile and making another new profile using a different email and when I install FF on ANY OTHER pc it will not load correctly, especially themes and add ons.

What the hell is causing this and how do I fix it??

On every PC I used my Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall FF including file remnants and then meticulously scrubbed repeatedly each PC for any leftover registry and file remnants, and then I used my file eraser program to wipe all the file slack.

If this is going to be an issue why have FF ? I spend enough time now keeping Edge disabled and dont want my fav primary browser to become a "High Maintenance" browser having to spend time EVERY TIME I TURN ON MY PC fixing this, repeatedly. Its like having to add water to your cooling system every time you start up your car before you can use it.

Any help would be enormously appreciated.

The trouble shooting information below is for the first install tonight after getting home and making the newest profile and it is seemingly staying correct, the next install on my laptop is incorrect, it has one deleted theme installed yet is "using" the default theme and the correct theme I picked is not even showing.

I had issues with my computer which got me into a situation where i had to delete all partitions of my drives, starting from 0. Signing in my firefox account in a fresh win install suddenly recovers NOTHING and i am now panicking as i had very important accounts & passwords, bookmarks, tabs, extensions, etc. I have tried other devices too without any luck. I need help recovering all these asap.

So I downloaded Firefox and logged in expecting my bookmarks to carry over after I "sync'd" it, however the did not. So I went to my old pc and did the export bookmarks thing and imported it to the new pc.

Now.. I have all my bookmarks and everything appears great. Except whenever I open a link from say my work it opens a Mozilla window that doesn't have my bookmarks. When I try to combine the windows It doesn't let me. I am also scared of losing access to the Mozilla with my bookmarks as I work from home using those. (the desktop shortcut to Mozilla opens the one without all my work)

In the attached screenshot things to note, the bookmark bar available on left isn't there on the right. Additionally in the taskbar (bottom) it shows Mozilla in two distinctly separate icons. When two Mozilla windows are open, they share the same icon on the taskbar, these do not, which leads me to believe I have two incompatible versions existing next to each other.

My gateway had to reboot for tv issue. Everything came back as normal except for Firefox. It shows a blank page with only a search bar that does not function. Other browsers and programs work. Should I uninstall and re-install Firefox? This is the first time this has happened as I have had this browser for many years.

I got a new device and had to sign in and sync everything. When firefox asked about syncing I didn't realize it was asking about using the edge bookmarks to sync with. I tried to cancel but it was too late. Can I undo/remove firefox syncing to edge? Does this mean any changes in Edge will automatically change firefox now? I do not want edge bookmarks/settings. I want to get my old firefox settings back. If it matters: Windows 10 home on one device, Windows 11 on another. All browsers up-to-date.

But no definitive answer. And my feature request still remains for a history of sent tabs.

Dear Mozilla Team,

during the recent weeks I was away from my main PC and primarily used my iphone to browse the web. Every now and then I sent a link to the PC using Safari's share and the integrated send to function of Firefox for iOS. This usually worked really well, even when my PC was powered off. When I got back home and started my PC, sync would take forever, but was then interupted and all further tries to sync (hoping to get those tabs eventually) failed.

My question is if there is a log file of all those links that are sent to different devices? I believe there has to be one given that Mozilla's servers are being used and tabs (usually) arrive on powered-off devices following a request to the server.

If there is, please tell me how to access it/send it to me. If there is not, please take this as a feature request (a sent links history being gathered locally as part of the wider Firefox profile maybe and as a viewable list of all shared tabs for all devices so that tabs can still be sent to single devices but also accessed from others, similar to how tabs can be accessed from all synced devices).

I reset my PC and reinstalled Firefox last month, but my bookmarks were never recovered after I logged in my Firefox account. A couple of months ago I installed Firefox on another PC (to which I no longer have access) and it showed all the synced bookmarks, but this time it doesn't. What should I do? Thank you

I just switched to Firefox from Chrome, because Chrome was crashing all the time.

All I want to do is sync my computer, laptop, phone and Ipad's reading list. I want to be able to see an article on one device, add to the reading list, and have it on all devices.

I'm logged in under the same name on all, and it says sync is on, but the reading lists are different.

FYI Firefox is not firewalled and is able to access the web and other domains

my passwords and logins are not showing..!! even my bookmarks are not showing on firefox after i logged in using my firefox account. please help me resolve this its very important Sir/Ma'am.

I can sync my home desktop (Windows 10), home tablet (Windows 11), and phone (Android) just fine, but I am having trouble syncing with my work desktop (Windows 10). As I can work from home, I would like to keep my bookmarks, history, etc. synced.

While at work, when I start Firefox, it says that I am running an older version of Firefox and either need to create a new profile or exit to avoid problems. So I create a new profile, then update to 117, then restart Firefox, and things are fine for a bit. Eventually though, if I exit Firefox, it will go through this cycle again the next time I start Firefox. When I check the version after starting, it says that I am on version 115, even though I already updated to 117. I went into about:profiles I saw that there were several profiles there: default, default-release, then default-release-1, 2, etc., with the most recent number being the one currently in use.

Could this be some sort of organizational setting that is preventing the update from sticking? Is 117 not 'backwards compatible' with 115, so to speak, with regards to syncing? Any way to work around this? Any insights here would be appreciated.

First of all, thank you for your efforts to help this community. I've been using Firefox for about a decade and this is my first question, I believe.

I recently got a new Macbook. I've installed Firefox to it (my primary browser) and want to sync Firefox to it. I have Firefox on my iMac and my iPhone. However, my password is from 2014 and I can't seem to remember it no matter how many times I try. If I choose a new password, it gives me a warning that I will lose my account information, including my bookmarks, add-ons, history, etc. I really don't want to lose that info! I have spent a long time personalizing my Firefox.

Pleeeease tell me there's some other way to sync Firefox to my new laptop (when I can't remember my super old password).

This morning I had trouble updating my Firefox after the new update. Went to our IT people, who uninstalled Firefox, and installed a new one. The new one updated fine. However, I had forgotten my password, and had to reset it when logging in into the newly installed Firefox. Now I am logged in, but cannot see any of my bookmarks, etc. Essentially Firefox is treating my account as a new one and does not remember any of my settings. Is there anything I can do to recover my settings and bookmarks?

Hi. I have problem with firefox account addon. I acidenty remove it from the addon menu(that one on the right up corner in firefox) and i can't find it in addons setings. how can i add it again to addon menu?

I know the answer to this is probably going to be along the lines of this is not possible, but I thought I'd ask anyway since none of the information is entirely clear. Or answers my exact question.

I have one desktop install of firefox and I have two android ones. I have all three synced to one firefox account, so it's easy to grab links I saved while wiki diving on something. While this works perfectly for the desktop side of things, the mobile side is where the issue arises.

Currently all my bookmarks from both mobile firefox accounts are merged into one long set, regardless of device. While the desktop ones have their own folder. Is there a way to keep the bookmarks from each device in their own separate folder? Like say instead of having one big mobile bookmarks folder, having one named DeviceX, and the other DeviceY?

It's still semi functional on desktop where I have more screen real estate and have to deliberately go to the mobile bookmarks folder, but on the phones it can be confusing when a set of bookmarks from device 1 mixes randomly into those of device 2. As it can become a lot harder to keep track of things.

Now I know one can turn off syncing of bookmarks. This is not what I'm looking for as I do still want to be able to share them between all three devices. Just have them more organised.

I also know one can make different accounts for say work or personal, but again I want them all to sync, just not mix them into one list.

So in short is there a way to be able to have two android devices into a threeway sync and keep the bookmarks separate? Or is my only option the round abound way of making subfolders and hope I remember to save in those?
