Hello,

When Firefox updates, a new tab is openned upon the next start, with the new version content or patchnote. I would like to avoid this informative tab.

Is there a way to deactivate it?

Mouse scroll wheel not scrolling web page after installing Firefox version 110. I installed an older version, 98, and it worked again, but that version would not use my profile and it seemed to update itself to 110 and then scrolling was broken again. Am I alone or is everyone broken at version 110?

I have just updated Firefox, and I am not able to scroll at all. My mouse wheel does not work and the mousepad scrolling does not either, but I am still able to scroll by pressing down the scroll wheel (image below). I am able to scroll on all other applications and I was able to scroll on the 'Which topic best describes your question?' mini-menu, I'm just not sure why I can't do it on here. Thanks!

Hi there. My scroll wheel on my mouse stopped working. Only way to scroll is to press Ctrl+Shift and then use scroll wheel, which makes it work fine. But i would prefer to not have to press down Ctrl+Shift to scroll. This problem is only happening on Firefox and no other browser or program on my computer. Do you know any solutions?

After updating to Firefox 110 (snap running under Ubuntu Studio 22.04) I get "No synced logins found". The settings still show me logged in to my Firefox account and my synced bookmarks are still there. The saved logins are still there in my Firefox 110 installation running under Windows 10. A similar problem was reported here: Surface Pro 8 recently had No Synced Logins Found while other devices do not have this issue but I am opening a separate thread because the OP gives the impression that this is platform-specific. I am afraid to do anything in the Firefox installation under Ubuntu, for fear of overwriting (i.e. deleting) the saved logins which I can still access on my Windows installation. How should I proceed?

So, a preface. I rarely used this PC of mine, and thus the Firefox is rarely used as well. When i installed it, i turned on the option 'Open previous windows and tabs'.

Then, once I opened up some kind of offline documentations from Libre Office or Latex, which opened in Firefox. You know, the one where there is no tab appeared, and it just seems like a single pop-up window. I closed it without thinking.

Long enough, i forgot about that and opened up Firefox only to be met with that docs again. Okay, i closed it. But Firefox always started in this kind of pop-up window style ever since (attached). Changing the preference, even deleting the profile doesn't seem to do a thing.

Any recommendation to return Firefox to its original set?

I use the "Forget" button regularly. Recently, I've noticed that complete browser history (cookies and all) are all being deleted even though only 5 minutes or two hours are selected.

Any others having this issue? Doug

Scroll wheel not working at all -but only on firefox (windows 11) I tried disabling the smooth scrolling option in logi options+ app but the issue was not resloved

The issue only resolves when starting Firefox Browser with the Troubleshooting mode, any idea what is the cause of this problem, and how can I fix it?

I've been getting funny glyphs on my google engine searches. See png. Turning off add ons and reinstalling software doesn't seem to clear the issue.

The funny text when copied and pasted is revealed to be the actual text it was supposed to be.

This is very very weird... and its only on firefox, no issue for chrome or safari. Happened just a few days ago. Don't remember installing anything. Could be malfare from a font site?

I subscribe to Gardener's World which provides links to videos for some topics. Clicking on some links gives an instant view of the target page but immediately reverts to a blank screen, although the link address is still shown. I was not sure whether to report this as a crash, but most of the time I'm trouble-free.

I am using DuckDuckGo with Firefox because I do not like auto suggestions filling up the search bar while I type. It's so annoying. I have ensured that Settings do not have auto complete in any way, but still they come. The only solution I can find on this website, which is Stop Auto Search in Firefox

There is a preference to change that back, but it does take a bit of work to find it because of the unusual name: (1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk. (2) In the search box in the page, type or paste handoff and pause while the list is filtered (3) Double-click the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar preference to switch the value from true to false Success?

I had no success with it at all. Please, how can I stop this wretched feature? Thanks.

All of my extensions just got moved into a single new extension button. I understand this feature was just added to 109 but is quite terrible.

I can no longer see my extensions on the toolbar. I now have to do even more clicks to access certain options or settings. Which is dumb as it now takes longer to get where you need to go.

This is a terribly added feature. Not sure how this passed. The quality of life is not improved in any shape or form with this. Only makes things worse.

For example. I have norton safe web and search. I now have to click on the extension button to see if a page is safe or now have to do multiple clicks to access that extension.

This new feature is terrible and I really hope it is reverted.

I've been using Firefox browser for over a decade to do university business (e.g., submit grades, internal proposal review processing and approval, etc.). But since December, I am having catastrophic failures. Sometimes with an error message, sometimes just getting no response at all when submitting information in a browser-based university application. And yet, I can complete those functions when I immediately go to Chrome (once I remember that that might be a problem). I really don't want to use Chrome. Is there a change in Firefox (including something which I can change some settings in my browser to counteract), or a change in our university's software making Firefox incompatible? One returned error today was "Request Header Fields Too Large. The server refused this request because the request header fields are too large." [PS, I had to type this all over when I tried to share data with you about my system -- I had to click on "troubleshoot" information, which lost all the data I had previously entered... Sigh....]

THERE IS NO EXCUSE OR REASON FOR MOZILLA'S FAILURE TO PROVIDE ACTUAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM AN EMPLOYEE.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR FORCING PEOPLE TO USE SOME KIND OF RIDICULOUS FORUM TO ASK QUESTIONS FROM OTHER USERS INSTEAD OF AN ACTUAL EMPLOYEE.

WHERE IS THE HELP AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT???? WHERE IS THE SUPPOSED FEEDBACK PAGE??? HOW DOES A PERSON ACTUALLY CONTACT FIREFOX???? WHAT'S THE PHONE NUMBER FOR MOZILLA OR FIREFOX??? THIS WEBSITE AND "CUSTOMER SUPPORT" NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

OS version: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS (jammy), 64-bit (amd64, x86_64). Firefox version: 110.0 (64-bit) (NOTE: the issue was noticed with version 109.0, too)

Firefox package was installed on Ubuntu through 'APT', using the Mozilla Team repository (https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/mozillateam/ppa/ubuntu/). It caught my attention that an excessive amount of Firefox related 'DENIED' AppArmor log messages is generated during the browser activity.

According to messages, Firefox is occasionally denied read access to '/sys/devices/' area and read/write access to 'oom_score_adj' target in '/proc/'. Could somebody clarify why would that access be required for regular browser operations? I'm a bit puzzled as I haven't noticed anything similar with the older Ubuntu and Firefox versions. A complete suppression of those messages is also an option as long as there's no negative impact on application's performance.

I already posted this question to Ubuntu forum but seems like nobody there could provide an explanation. I'd appreciate any input or hint.

If I set my tab title bar height to 30px in my userChrome.css the tab titles are no longer centered (top to bottom) on the tab bar. The top padding on the tab titles needs to be reduced by at least 3px and I would be grateful for a code snippet that does so.
