This latest update makes everything gray on the screen and you can't tell one tab from another. How do you change the color scheme? Why'd they make it so ugly? And why didn't they put this answer on the home page?

With release of the newest version of Firefox, the search function for me has moved from the search bar up to the address bar, even when I try to initiate the search in the search bar.

How can I reset so that I can conduct my searches from the search bar?

I'm aware of the functionality of the address bar, but I simply don't want to conduct my searches there, nor in the additional search bar that can be added to the right of the address bar.

The only solution that I want is to use the search bar that appears beneath the Firefox logo to conduct my searches. Please let me know whether or not that's possible and, if so, how to adjust settings to accomplish this.

I had to restart my Mac this morning, and when I started Firefox again it didn't look the same or act the same. I liked it just fine the way it was, and now I hate it! I'll be reading a page and it will suddenly magnify huge for no reason and I don't want it to! Why is this being done? I can think of no good reason. I also have trouble with my Disqus account I've never seen before with this new update, and other issues as well.

Firefox has been my default browser for well over a decade but now I am seriously thinking of ditching it. You guys have really messed up a great browser. Why can't you just leave well enough alone???? Is there a way to remove this horrid update and go back to what Firefox was before? If not I will just start looking for a new browser, because I can't use this one anymore and you guys have really messed it up!

The new Firefox update awaited me this morning on my desktop Mac (OS Mojave). Unfortunately for an older person with eyesight that is not as good as it once was, the very low contrast on the tabs makes it very hard to quickly see which ones are up. I've searched but have not found any way to increase that contrast. And, one other thing, the old tabs had a very visible icon for sound (to turn it on or off in the tab). This new one is also very hard to see with less than terrific eyesight. Even just being able to make them a bit bigger would help a lot.

Thanks in advance if there is a way to restore these tabs to the previous version. And, if not, it would be really great if the awesome Firefox developers would keep in mind that some of us don't see all that well and give us some options to adjust for that.

I need the previous Firefox tool bar appearance to see what is there. I'm thinking Revert to Firefox 88, or return to the Ff 88 appearance of everything above my site display. Ff 89's lack of tab outlines and type face contrast with the background now make me have to squint and lean far closer to the monitor than with Ff 88. I'm actually thinking of changing browsers to deal with this amazing lack of testing on older eyes before such a major change in visual 'ergonomics'. I'm guessing everyone working on new Ff versions is below middle age, and have zero conception of the visual issues everyone faces with age.

I have very bad vision and can barely read the bookmars when I pull down the bookmark menu nor read the top a the different tabs. Is there a way to enlarge the top of the screen? I've look and can't figure out now to do it. Thanks in advance, George

After the last update, I'm completely unable to login to my Google accounts and Gmail. I get a 'something wrong' error (see attached). So far what I've done is cleared my cache and removed cookies related to Google but same thing happens. I'm just falling short of deleting and reinstalling Firefox for fear of losing my bookmarks and history. Anyone could help? Thanks in advance.

It is suspected that latest version of Firefox version 78.11.0esr (64-bit) is causing operathing systems to crash. I have not seen it on Windows platform as I am not using it. Platforms I am using are OSX and XUbuntu. The error occurs lingering on a site for a very long time. First it starts getting screen graphic errors like, some pixels are not being updated correctly. Then after a while screen starts to flicker, in a massive state, like the graphic processor is broken. In some cases with command key strokes one is able to kill Firefox, screen is back to normal and one can continue working. Facebook is the site that most commonly is causing error, but there are also other sites.

I upgraded to v89 and chose not to change the theme. I've looked under every tab in settings and it is not there. I mouse-overed every icon and none were for choosing a theme. Search here had zero hits.

Since updating to the latest version of Firefox (89.0), I seem to have lost a feature that I had with the old version: previously I could click just to the right of the search bar and find options that enabled me easily to copy or email a link for whatever I was looking at. Can that helpful feature be restored? If so, how? It's unfortunate when an update leaves us with less capability than we had with the previous version. Thanks for any help.

I just installed v.89.0 on my M1 MBAir running MacOS 11.4, and the Page Action menu (three dots) is missing from the address bar. (See image.) Is this a known bug, or is there a way to restore this feature? Thanks.

The new base system theme for FireFox is not accessible. I cannot visually tell when one tab shifts to another. Three's not enough contrast. There's no line that marks the shift from one tab to the next. I tried countless contributor themes and they're all lacking the same feature - a physical break between tabs. Fades on text are also not accessible. Please fix this issue!

Suddenly videos won't play on one particular news website (others are fine), I've tried every possible solution I could find on the net (clear cache, uncheck hardware accelleration, allow audio & video, fiddled with permissions and protection,...). MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), recently updated to Big Sur 11.4 (hoping the problem would go away, issue already there with Catalina), 2,6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, video Intel Iris 1536 MB. Please, can anyone help?

Ever since the update on mac OS and FF v 89.0,i have to sign in and re-sync FF everytime i restart. It used to retain my sync account info and automatically start up with that info. What changed? How can I get FF to save the info without having to re-enter it everytime???? PLEASE HELP. This is a huge time waster.

this is curious. after updating to Firefox 89, it wants to use Skia Black where Skia is specified in CSS. switching to Troubleshoot Mode corrects the behavior and the proper weight is displayed, but Refreshing Firefox to reset settings and extensions does not fix it permanently.

since the last update, my Macbook M1 firefox (89.0) will no longer play ANY video.

Amazon Prime, YouTube and Netflix. All fail with a spinning circle and a error message "please restart your device" or similar.

All sites play fine in C*rome

Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to use C*rome

is it possible to configure all new tabs in v89 to be the same as my homepage, which in my case is Google.com? I don't like the Firefox home because when you start to enter a search, you get thus list of visited websites etc ... which is very annoying and gets in the way of my work (not all search methodologies are the same).

Update question: Today I got an update window and I tapped Do Not Install but apparently it did anyway. Now my open tab handles are not delineated like they were, the typeface on them is harder to read, general appearance things that don't seem to be controllable in preferences.

Firefox 89, MacBook Pro 10.12.6

With FF 89 on MacOS the behaviours of the new tab page and address bar have changed. Previously I turned off search in the address bar preferring to do searches on the DuckDuckGo site which I set as my new tab page. Now, upon typing into the DDG search control focus immediately shifts to the new address/search bar. I want the old behaviour because I prefer to keep these functions separate. How do I do this?
