Firefox continues to add a new tab during navigation on a website. Every selection adds a new tab rather than staying within the original tab. Trying to sign out from a website is problematic because a new tab is added which is blank and the original remains signed in. How can this be changed?

So, despite selecting "Allow Audio and Video" in the Site Preferences, "AUTOPLAY BLOCKED" continues to show on a tab, and it only goes away once I access the tab. This particularly happens on Youtube media.

You may find attached to this question an image of my about:config settings.

What further can be done to fix this?

I played same Youtube video on Firefox and on Edge and Firefox uses way more data(I/O write bytes) I/O writes and I/O Read bytes than Edge. I added the screenshot.

pm: I ran Firefox in Safe mode and with Sessionstore disabled . Some say it is because of History, but I dont want to delete it.

I'm having an issue every few months, where I usually keep Firefox open with 10 or so tabs as pinned and sometimes I open a new window for something else on another monitor. When closing the PC, I generally close on my main monitor and forget about the new window, so I lost all tabs. Because I use Open previous windows and tabs. How can I recover the window with my tabs without having to always go into sessionstore-backups folder and restore manually with the scrounger from the recovery file?

If i use the Windows 11 search (for "disk management windows 11"), windows opens a new empty firefox window (apart from my default homepage). I seem to have a problem with popups and links generally.

I have adblock/adblock plus and other add-ons, but I hvae disabled those and still get the same problem.

What else can I do to identify the problem? I've taken the following actions: Restarted the app, refreshed then reset the app, ran troubleshooter mode, uninstalled then reinstalled the app, re-booted my PC and shut down-rebooted my PC, disabled all protections in Bitdefender(firewall, ransom, etc), ran a full anti-virus scan, checked Chrome and Edge(they work fine), created a 2nd profile but no change. My system consists of the following: ASUS Z390-a MB I5-9400 CPU 64GB of RAM 850W ATX PSU Intel 1TB SSD(OS) Windows 11 Pro I believe this problem started soon after I updated the BIOS on my ASUS MB. I have just started using Firefox and ticked that every internet tab is Firefox but every time I click new tab, it states "search with google or enter address" I cannot get into about:config to then get to browser.newtabpage.pinned How do I get rid of this Google message?

Can anyone please help me figure out why can't I access my multiple open Firefox tabs on my Widow 11 desktop unless I open a new tab, and then click on the three line Firefox app menu symbol, then select "History" and then go back? I don't even have to choose a function under "History". I just go back to the tabs and they have become available to be selected and activated. This fix is only temporary and may have to be repeated several times in one session. The misbehaving tabs show up in a horizontal row over my toolbar area (sometimes as dark panels after an update) but clicking on them just causes the row of tabs shown, or the vertical list of excessive multiple tabs, to disappear. I tried selecting troubleshoot mode, but did not see any indications of errors. This problem only began after my last Firefox update and does not go away after a Windows reboot.

I'm trying to recover a profile that has the most recent history, tabs and pinned tabs that I seem to have either lost or overwritten yesterday. I can try to reconstruct from my actual history but I don't remember everything I had open. I'm also not sure what to do with all the profiles that are associated with my browser. The version with my actual name is not the default and is an initial version I used on an older computer.A ny easy answers would be appreciated. It's frustrating that there is no way to contact them Mozilla directly.

I thought I could try posting here about finding a reliable tab management extension for Firefox or a program so I can sync the open pinned tabs I have on my laptops and phone with each other so I can be sure to refer to certain tabs when I'm not home or something outside of trying different extensions to see if it'll be done. That way, I can know I can be able to refer to what I need to find rather than having to go home to look on my laptop if I'm not home or something. Thank you in advance if you reply to this.

There is no gear icon when I open a new tab. and my thumbnails are missing. Tried the solution here Right clicking does not give the option to restore defaults. value of browser.newtabpage.enabled is true. changing it to false did not change anything, neither did changing it back again.

I am wondering if it is at all possible to adjust the settings when pulling a tab into a new window. For example, if I am running Firefox fullscreen I would like the tab that I pull to be opened in windowed form. I noticed that this is typically the case when using Chromium-based browsers, but noticed that on Firefox it stays in the format as the previous window. (if already windowed the pulled tab will also be windowed) is there a way to ensure that the pulled tab will always be windowed?

So a while back (maybe a year already idk) there was once an update and ever since then i had a pinned tab (a tab that only is an icon?) in the upper left corner that was a sort of a home page of fire fox. Not the usual home page but a place that had like history and stuff. I lost it accidentally and would like to get it back. Does anyone know how?

Is there any way to make the tabs more clearly defined from one another? All the tabs seem to blend together visually. There is no line that separates each tab from the one next to it. It's very annoying visually. Can this be changed with a setting?

If I click a link like https://example.com/hi:1 from an outside source, test it in the notes app; it goes to the line number in view-source:https://example.com/hi

This started happening relatively recently ~ 1 month or so. I've been getting around it by copy pasting into the url bar. This is not preferred and I'm wondering if there is a specific setting in about:config to turn this off; or if it's truly a bug?

I'm on macOS venture 13.1. Latest nightly version.
