The Firefox Getting Started button is taking up room on my browser. How do I make it go away?

How do i get rid of annoying adverts coming up on my facebook page? I have ticked the block pop ups in my tools/options box but it makes no difference. Since i updated Adobe I have continuous sound from these adverts too!

When I search with FIrefox I can not follow the search results to the actual pages themselves ...I always get an error: Firefox can't find the server at googleads.sgdoubleclick.net.

Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and seem to have the same problem. Im using webroot security essentials as a firewall and have it net to allow all to see if it would clear the problem...still happens. Thanks for your help

A popup flashed briefly for milliseconds and was gone before I could read, let alone click on it. I think it asked if I wanted to? update or ?upgrade (to 3.6.6 from 3.5.3 ?). Then a message that ?download failed (like all Firefox messages, gone before I can focus, read, comprehend or act ) - extremely irritating! You guys must fix this!Asked on Forum:results unreadable on dim background.

The green arrows for page forward or back at the top left under File and Edit disappeared after I downloaded the new Firefox toolbar (for 3.6) and were replaced by Most Visited, Getting Started and Latest headlines Icons, which I have little use for. How do I get the Original Toolbar back?

How does one export bookmarks? I wish to transfer a copy of my bookmarks from my desktop to my portable. Both computers are on a network. Running Firefox 3.5.3 on both machines. Operating system is Windows XP Pro service pack 3.

i have to manually select pop up blocker everytime i open new firefox window. How can i make this arrangement permenent?

I have recently setup my new laptop. I have a bookmarks.html backup from my previous laptop. I go through the process of importing bookmarks.html on my new laptop after installing Firefox. After I select the file to import nothing happens.

The Adobe Flash Plugin keeps crashing in Firefox and I have the most up to date version. I have tried the dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs to -1 but it still keeps crashing.

search bar is not right, missing one search bar. last week the same bar would take me to a shopping site other than the site i typed in. now some things are missing, or grayed out on the tool bar, back buttons, refresh and red x is one. google button isn't working any more or option buttons. when it loads it doesnt show any tabs from last time. i have to reload several times for it to work. Some pages won't open when selected from my bookmarks.

When I click a link "gout.com" at the top of a Google page I get "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.googleadervices.com". Do I have to dump Firefox and go back to the evil IE. Google is broken. Do I just have to suffer with this painful gout. Is that Google's gift?

Because of a crash, I had to completely uninstall Firefox 3.5.3 and I installed Firefox 3.6.3. After that, some Java features are not working any more. Here I attached an example, where the "plus" buttons do nothing, but when opening the page with IE there is no problem to expand the "plus". I have many extensions installed, I have also tried to disable them (even running Firefox sercure mode), as well as reinstall the last Java version, but nothing yet (Java seems to be correctly installed, since other features work ok, and official Java web page test works ok as well).

Firefox keeps hijacking my files. They can then be opened only with Firefox, and then other tools (which were written to use Internet Explorer) cannot do their job. Unfortunately, since the laptop is owned by my employer, I cannot simply remove Firefox from the laptop. How can I disable Firefox without removing it from my PC?

I want my browser screen to always be top 0 left 0 height 100 width 100. I Right Click Mozilla shortcut on desktop > Click Properties > Shortcut tab > Target "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -height 100 -width 100. It still launches Mozilla with a full screen not a fixed smaller window.
