What happened: 1) I wanted to create a Passkey for a website and store it in Bitwarden. 2) Bitwarden pop-up opened, but while exploring the options, I accidentally clicked on the option "Use your device or hardware key: Always for this website". 3) Windows Defender dialog popped up with the options "iPhone, iPad or Android device" and "Security key" 4) I backed out of the dialog window 5) I clicked the button to create a Passkey again but going forward only the Windows Defender pop-up appears

The problem: I now cannot create a Passkey to store in Bitwarden on a specific website, because I accidentally clicked on "Use your device or hardware key: Always for this website".

What I've tried that didn't work: - looking through Bitwarden settings - deleting Firefox cookies - doing the same thing in Private Browsing - asking AI and looking through about:config, about:preferences and about:logins, as well as trying to find profile files related to webauth

Found workaround: - creating the Passkey from a different Mozilla profile

I would still very much like to be able to undo the "Always for this website". Is there a way to do that? (Attached images were captured later when recreating the situation.)

1: By logging in to my account I am asked to "Enter two-step authentication code"

Upon my knowledge I do not have anything like this. Can I still log in by using my old username and my normal pasword and the be able to sync between my different PCs ?

2: How to sync my EDGE Bookmark list to my Firefox ?

When I'm on a site that I've accessed on my main machine or phone (Apple), but try to use my Apple ID when logging on via the Firefox browser on my Linux machine, I get a popup asking for a fingerprint. None of my devices use a fingerprint. I get it needs confirmation, but very rarely you get the dotty circle to use with your phone camera, but not all the time. How can I make my life easier and get the dotty circle all the time, or force things to go to my phone for confirmation that it's me - face ID or something.

I've looked on my Apple stuff and can't find anything that will help, so I'm reaching out!

I am unable to use passkey with the 150.0 (64-bit) update of firefox. I get a message "The operation is insecure." when trying to create a new passkey and when attempting to use a passkey that has worked for months I now get "Passkey authentication error: The operation is insecure." Unfortunately the same day Microsoft patches were also applied, KB5086096 KB5086097 KB5091596 KB5082417 and KB5083769, 26200.8246 which could also the the problems, but firefox is reporting the error, so I am contacting you. This in on a Windows 11, version 24H2 system.

I recently switched over to a physical key for 2FA through Duo for managing several work accounts. When Windows Security pops up for the key authentication, it automatically cancels my Duo login. This doesn't happen if I use Chrome or Edge.

Is there a way to address this via Firefox?

I can't access Duo support easily and have already tried disabling the Windows Security pop-up.

When Facebook creates passkey Firefox asks for an USB to be inserted. I have tried to disable USB in the settings ("security.webauth.webauthn_enable_usbtoken","false"). But then Facebook just gets into a retry loop and I can't create the passkey. I use Windows 10, and USB is NOT enabled as an authentication option. I need to fix this as Facebook nags me (in e-mail) to create a passkey.

I followed the instructions to set a security and there is no option to do it. I need to be able to login to all of my gmail accounts. The correct password was used, and is shown when I click the key icon and is accepted on other browsers. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

I was trying to sign in to siriusxm.com. A box came up that said "Please insert your security key", with a diagram that looks like a flash drive. It said the request came from FireFox Mozilla Corp.

Is this one flashdrive key that will work for everything Firefox Mozilla Corp wants to guard, or it is something required by SiriusXM? I've never heard of it, but have seen it pop up for two or three things in the last week. I don't know how to satisfy the requirement. I looked though the topics on FireFox help page, and nothing mentions it that I can find.

After I enter the email and password for Gemini account, Firefox requires my verification by entering passkey. I use the Authy 2factor system as security to enter the account. I did not set up a passkey for Gemini account. I did set up a passkey on Firefox for a different account with a different email. Does that passkey work for multiple accounts??. This does not seem very secure as all someone would need to enter my accounts is my pin, which would not be too difficult to discover.

Hello, On March 1, I worked with the Mozilla help team to create a recovery key. Now that I need it, it says it is an MS Dos executable file, and that I can't run that file on my computer. I have tried a few workarounds from google, but really I just need my recovery key. I thought maybe this was because wordpress is no longer available on Windows PCs but I can't open it in word either, it just keeps saying it's an MS Dos executable file.

I really need the recovery key because I can't access anything on one of my computers. Can you assist?

Hi Helpful People. I scanned the QR code to continue the two part authentication of my account. When I opened it all I received was an inappropriate ad. When I tried again I went to someone trying to scam me about security. I am using this forum to tell someone this happened. Thank you.
