usually whenever a page of a website is bookmarked, a blue star is visible at the corner of the address bar, mentioning "edit this bookmark" when you hover on it. however while browsing thru a google doc, depending on which paragraph the cursor is located, a URI fragment such as "#heading=h.xxxx" being added. it appears that firefox is too strict about such a minor change in the URI, causing firefox to stop detecting the page as bookmarked, and displaying an empty star mentioning "Bookmark this page" instead. this behavior is observed in google docs, but is not exclusive to any specific website.

This is a really strange problem, something I have never encountered before.

I have two- near identical desktop computers Computer 1 is an HP Elite Pro 8300 Computer 2 is an HP Elite Desk 800 G1

Both have the exact same latest version of Windows 10 (Pro 64 Bit Version 22H2) Both have the exact same version of Firefox (133.0) Both Firefox browsers are synced via my Firefox account, so same Settings, same Bookmarks, same Extensions etc.

Yet one of them has a problem with remembering certain input field criteria (although they both remember passwords and usernames just fine). I have uploaded some screengrabs as one illustration of this problem

Essentially, this a courier website which I use for sending packages. I have a site ID number

When I use Computer 1 to make a booking, it has always remembered my Site ID. When I open the page, the SiteID field is already filled in, and the "Remember Me" checkbox is already checked. See Computer1.png

However, when I use Computer 2 to make a booking, I have to enter the SiteID every time, even though I check the "Remember Me" checkbox, and click the "Book a Pickup" button, the next time I open the page, the SiteID input field is blank, and the "Remember Me" checkbox is unchecked. At first, I thought it was a problem with the computer, but I tried using Chrome on Computer 2 and it works fine . See Computer2A.png

I cannot think of anything that might be causing this. I have even gone through the Settings pages side-by-side to make sure all the checkboxes are identical. Nothing different that I can find. There are other web pages that do similar things with fields that are not usernames or passwords, but all passwords and usernames for the other website I login to are remembered fine, and they are all listed in the saved passwords section of Settings.

Any help or ideas I could try would be appreciated.

Microsoft recently decided to update Firefox, since when I have found it unusable, particularly where accessing my webmail (on Vox) is concerned. I tried going back to an earlier installation of Firefox and reinstalling that, but still have no luck. Please tell me (although not by email, obviously) how I may access my emails. Telephonic communication is difficult because of weak or often absent signal, but people seem able to reach me on WhatsApp - same number: [edited phone# from public support forum]

I've been on the phone to Apple support and just returned from the local Apple store and genius bar. My Mac Pro laptop was too old and would not support the newer OS. In installing a OS, I lost my bookmarks and the menu bar that gave easy access. I've since purchased a new Apple Air laptop and everything from the old laptop has been migrated over.

However, working with Apple support and the local genius bar Apple store rep., nobody has been able to help me rebuild the links to a menu bar for quick access. Presently I have some bookmarked. I have to go to the book marks to access any particular URL. All the directions on the web have not provided way to do this!

i need to delete the hotkey for closing browser/tabs with shift+w mainly. but every other hotkey is also in need of disabling. its an awful function that is completely unnecessary and unwanted. there is also nothing in the setting to even disable it which is fucking awful. why is it not a setting??

browser is about one reply from support away from being forever uninstalled.

For the last few weeks (may a couple of months?), Firefox has not been responding to buttons on various web pages, e.g., buttons to submit forms or log in. I am using Windows 11 on a Surface Book 3. Everything is up to date.

Anyone else having this problem? Any advice?

I use different profiles for different tasks. I have an profile for streaming using a VPN and an other profile connect to my VNC-Servern using NoVNC (NoVNC is a client but has no GUI). All firefox instances lokk the same in panel - the normal red firefox icon. Is there a way to change this icon for each profile? I don't mean the icon i can customize in the *.desktop file. Can this be done with an other theme?

Switching between tabs used to be instant. Ever since updating to v133, it takes over a second (both through the Ctrl-Tab shortcut and through clicking on another tab in the tab bar), which is really really bothering me.

The tab bar has also started taking over a second to react visually when I hover over it with the mouse, even with thumbnail previews disabled. I have no idea what's causing this. Please help.

We are currently experiencing an issue where VTT file requests made through Firefox for Web do not include the Referer in the request header. This prevents access to files hosted on our CDN.

The CDN we use restricts requests based on the domain of the Referer and cannot use the Origin as a reference.

While other browsers such as Chrome and Safari include the Referer in the request header without any issues, Firefox alone omits the Referrer, causing this problem.

Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Hello. All tabs in the browser on the PC are missing. I sent the tab from the mobile version of the browser, via the share with device button. After a while, I sat down at my computer and turned on the private version of the browser. A minute later, the standard version of the browser opened with the tab I had previously sent. But all the other tabs that were in the PC version are gone. In the usual case, when tabs disappeared when opening the private version and closing the standard version, you could use the "restore tab" command to open the standard version window with the tabs closed. But in the situation with the sent tab, this does not work. In general, I would like a solution in which, when the private window is open and the standard window is closed, the tabs on the standard window are not reset.

I cannot enter any text when I load firefox. The cursor just sits there blinking. Finally firefox unlocks and I can type. Like this questionaire I'm typing. I have been on this page for almost ten minutes trying to fill out this form. Now I can type something. If I stop, Firefox may lock up again. What is happening?

My settings are checked to ask where I want a download to go, but then also puts a copy in the downloads folder. How can I stop the additional copy of a download?

I recently downgraded to the stable version of Firefox from beta. I made a new profile and deleted the old one, and it still tells me this randomly. Not sure what to do now since creating a new profile (like it said) didn't work. It's more of an annoyance since everything works like normal, other than getting the error every few hours (or minutes, depends).
