Hi there,

I just got some message saying that my Firefox version needed to be updated and by hastily taping on the ok button I did it without noticing that it had done it to a newer version no longer supported by my Mac OS.

I wanted to go back to the most recent version still supported by El Capitan 10.11.6, so I installed again the 78.10.0ESR and now all my browsing history from many years back is gone.

Could you please help me getting my history back?

Going through internet through several hours didn't bring any good solution to my problem.

Thanks on advance.

Went to a clothing account on line, my password came up as a run-on line of letters, that I didn't recognize. Went to Firefox Preferences, and the same run-on line of letters was there, but I couldn't erase it. [Highlighted long section pressed "delete", "command delete", "control delete".. nothing.] I did a Refresh Firefox, and noticed in the troubleshooting info, in "CMSOutput" there was again the run-on line of letters...  ? What is that??

I trashed the card out of Logins... made a new card...with new password. ..... went to clothing account and put in new password - it seems fine.

Is it?

I need to access an essential security device that has an address similar to my modem, with numbers and periods only. But Firefox consistently adds either "HTTP" or "HTTPS" to the address, so Firefox says, “Unable to connect.” I am able to access my modem page without Firefox adding anything to the address. The instructions I found (at Support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/https-only-prefs) say to disable or insert exceptions in the “HTTPS only" option on the “Privacy and Security” section of Firefox Preferences. However, there is NO "HTTPS only" selection in my Preferences (Version 78.150esr). The other suggestion, to “Click the Lock icon in the address bar,” will not work because there is no Lock icon in the address bar with this address. I have "Use the address bar for search. . ." unchecked in the "Search" section of Firefox Preferences. I also tried unchecking “Provide search suggestions,” disabling all of my Firefox extensions, and using “non-private browsing” mode. Safari browser will not connect to this URL either. Help!

Hello,

I know this question is probably somewhere here but I can't find the answer (what I tried below).

So, I have a Debian 10 computer, with Firefox 78.15.0esr. I'm using the Adwaita (dark version) theme on my OS.

The problem is that Firefox uses the dark theme in Its menus (I don't mind) but It transmits to websites this setting and thus, websites supporting dark mode use it (Google, DuckDuckGo for example). I don't like that. I want them to use the light mode but keeping my theme on my OS.

So, I tried to change the value to 0, 1, 2, 3 (I tried each for them) for the setting layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override and put "Adwaita:light" in the widget.content.gtk-theme-override field in about:config. Each time I restarted Firefox. It never works, websites still continue to use the dark theme...

Thanks in advance

I am no longer able to log in to eBay using Firefox. I am using Firefox 78.15esu bc I have an older Mac that will only support up to Mac OSX 10.11. I was able to use eBay up until this morning when the site asked me to log in again... and verify that I am indeed a human through the hCaptcha checker. The checker cycles between identifying horses and lions... and every time, I seem to pass but then comes the message "Failed to pass Captcha, Please try again." I can access eBay using Safari and Chrome. Right before the failure today, the rendering of the eBay pages was odd... needed 3x the screen width to see the whole page. eBay says that the problem is on the Mozilla side of this issue... mostly because I can use a different browser without problem. I think I am in agreement with them. I don't really want to use a different browser but I will bc I like eBay, too. Please advise.

Hi All,

I'm using an iMac with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I am using Firefox 78.15. When I click on links, nothing happens. I have to right click and select "open link in new tab." I suspected it might be an out-of-date Add-On. So, I disabled all add-ons and restarted Firefox. It had no effect.

This problem is getting annoying Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Version: 78.15.0esr (64-bit)

The bookmark dropdown submenus won't open any more. I can click Bookmarks>next random menu>next menu and it won't show the bookmarks. To be clear, I am going to a folder bookmark and then a sub-folder bookmark which won't show what is inside this sub-folder.

Any idea why this is happening?

TIA

When I try to log on to hmnow.com, all I get is a white screen. I worked with Hallmark support, but they couldn't figure it out even though I have a paid subscription with them. I've rebooted my Mac and it says I have the latest Firefox version installed. This has gone on for weeks. I've had no problem with any other website.

On start-up the Firefox browser shows a list of articles/topics that is referred to as Pockets. I clicked on one from Orion Magazine this morning and after the article was up for about 30 seconds a graphic appeared that showed a large metal looking sphere and was suppose to augment the article. This graphic completely locked up my computer. I am running an ancient iMac, mid-2007, and it took bringing down my wi-fi network and a little frustration to get my computer unfrozen. Please take down this article.
