Roboform does not load. I have reinstalled it and the toolbar does not load or does the roboform small icon.

Update 123.0 deleted all my firefox data from logins.json. backup files are corrupted or have no data. No support article suggestions have worked. The .json files indicate that there is data, but appears blank in notepad, and wont load in json reader in firefox

I use Firefox stable on both my Mac and my Win 11 PC. On the mac i use the developer edition. The issue I have started about 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the time, playing youtube 4k videos just either freezes and doesn't buffer, or just skips and reloads. It is not a network issue. I've tried playing back the same video with ARC on OSX (which is based on chromium) and with Chome on windows. It works flawlessly so it's not a network issue. I've tried disabling adblocker, all the extensions, nothing. It's either Youtube messing with non google products again or a problem with Firefox itself. I even have Youtube premium and this stuff still happens without adblockers.

Any help would be appreciated.

In devtools when i search in all resources it takes 2+ minutes to find all of the matches, while chrome is near instant, same website. theres around 200 requests. On my laptop it completes faster though so im a little confused.

I've experienced a problem with Firefox on the Metacritic-Website. As you can see on the attached picture on the left, it's not possible to set a filter for "release date". There's no problem when I use Chrome (see picture on the right). The problem still persists when I start Firefox in safe-mode, so it's not related to an extension. I could replicate the problem on another system as well. Firefox on iOS has no problem setting the filter however. Do you know what the problem could be?

I've been trying to reply to moderator "Phil" who requested information regarding Firefox crashing while on Youtube. When I press "Post reply" all I get is an error message:

An Error Occurred

Oh, no! It looks like an unexpected error occurred. We've already notified the site administrators. Please try again now, or in a few minutes.

It's important "Phil" gets my message as others may be affected my possible Youtube shenanigans. If possible, can you forward this message to "Phil": Unfortunately there are only two reports generated during the problems with Youtube:

The problem caused my system to stop responding forcing me to power cycle to clear my PC, so no reports could be generated. Hopefully these two will show what the problem is. In the meantime, can you check the reply system to make certain it's working properly?

I have enabled privacy.resistFingerprinting in Firefox. I have also set my default zoom level to 133%

When I open a website (e.g. https://github.com/), it is zoomed to 133% as expected. If I then navigate to a page on that website (e.g. https://github.com/pricing) using the menu at the top of the page, then the new page is still zoomed to 133%. So far, so good.

However, on the new page (https://github.com/pricing) if I increase the zoom over 133%, then navigate back to the original page (https://github.com/) using the menu at the top of the page, then my zoom level is reset to 100%.

Is this expected behaviour? I would have thought that the zoom level would be reset to 133%, not 100%.

When I scroll through Facebook, often if there are two posts with photos, the browser seems to jump back and forth between the two images making it impossible to see or read either. My release is 123.0 and it was loaded when I needed to restore my system after a drive upgrade about 10 days ago.

Hello, so I have been putting my custom links onto the 'top sites' start page in Firefox, by editing the icons and putting the URL, etc. It is a great 'speed dial' type feature I love. One thing has me tearing my hair out after trying all ways to try and fix this to appear to my liking, is the 'custom icon' from the website not showing in the sites I want to 'speed dial' Facebook and YT show up fine, but random sites I want on the page don't do this. I don't care why this is anymore, please don't give lengthily fixes. It's just silly you need a working URL with an icon at the end of it to display this properly. It did make me very mad, can you tell, even madder when I saw it done as it should be in OPERA browser, on their 'top sites', or 'speed dial' customizable home page they have the sensible option there to pick your own icon, you can put in a folder on your desktop if you like, no working URL needed! start a collection of what icons you want to see on your own start page. Can you please implement this 'common sense' modification as soon as possible, it will take only minutes of code writing i'm sure. I do not want to, but I will go to Opera as my main browser for this common sense functionality, good luck and thank you.

On my Macbook air (m1 2020 14.3.1 (23D60)) /etc/hosts is ignored by Firefox 123

i've tried multiple offered (old) solutions from stack but non work.

FAILED ATTEMPTS:

• DNS over https -> off
• network.trr.excluded-domains ... tried to add the domains in the dns over https exeptions ... didn't work either
• added the domains to network.trr.excluded-domains
• cleared cache
• restart ff
• migrating all my /etc/hosts config from multiple domains on a single line to separate lines did. Hope this helps someone.
• network.ttr.mode = 5
• sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder in the terminal

Background: I run my own server and I cannot access them over the internet if I am on the same network (rounter dissallows this) This is annoying as I cannot develop via my laptop.

/etc/hosts is changed and in the terminal all (ssh etc...) works fine.

What is the proper way of doing this these days?

When I'm viewing a PDF from within Firefox and try to print the page, it shows a smaller version between 1/2-3/4 of the size of the paper. I have "fit to page selected" and this doesn't change it. I try a larger than 100% scale and this doesn't change it either.

However when I download the pdf and pull it up using Acrobat it allows me to print full page, fit to page, scale, etc no problem.

Initially I thought it was my printer, but I removed and reinstalled the drivers for the printer and I don't have this issue with any other program except for printing from Firefox. It's almost like the Firefox browser has too small of a page default set so that it's fitting to a page, but the page is smaller than 8.5x11 printer paper.

How do I fix this?

Hi, lately I have been having issues with updates. When Firefox browser in MacOS gets update, it ask me to sign in to all platforms again. This wasn't the case at all before.

Firefox 123.0 MacOS 13.6.3 Ventura

Firefox does not automatically create a new empty window on startup. Neither starting from "applications" nor clicking icon in the dock

Instead once has to right click the icon then click "New Window"

Why is it that the people who "improve" products are always dickering with the look and feel to no benefit to the user? Why suddenly does a new empty window not open? Fantastic job Mozilla. It takes me an hour or so to figure out how to even get a window with the default web page URL and then I have to perform forever after three clicks instead on one.

I have a suggestion. The next time you think about changing the look and feel: DON'T. It is just that simple. DON'T.

Starting with the most recent update, 123.0, when I ctrl-click a link in Twitter or Blue Sky, the link opens in a new tab, but Firefox does NOT jump to the tab automatically. In any other site, the browser performs as expected. My options are set correctly, and all the relevant about:config settings are set to False. Using Windows 10, 22h2.

Every time I quit FF, FF crashes, or my Mac crashes, my bookmarks either disappear entirely, or the toolbar bookmarks and/or my "Other Bookmarks" folder disappear while leaving my main "Bookmarks Menu" bookmarks. When I tried to restore from json backups, I discovered that my last one seems to be from last October. So I used Time Machine to restore my FF user profile from March 1. This works, but then I go through the cycle I just described above again ... and again. New backups of my Mac do not hold onto the bookmarks when I restore FF user profiles made after March 1.

When I try to manually back up my bookmarks or export my bookmarks to an HTML file from inside the "Manage Bookmarks" window, everything seems to work, but then when I go looking for the file I supposedly created (e.g. bookmarks-2024-03-04.json), no such file exists in the location where I saved it and searching for a file with "bookmarks" in its name yields only bookmarks from other browsers and the old bookmark backups from last October and earlier.

In a recent Firefox browser update, my ability to reference my home router by name via the Windows HOSTS file stopped. I can ping the router by name from a CMD window just fine but keying the name into Firefox now fails. Images show the two forms of failure - a 500 Error when DNS over HTTPS is enabled; a 'having problems' error with suggestion of www..com alternative when DNS over HTTPS is disabled. Neither is the least bit helpful.

I can't imagine what changed and I can't find a prior support response that gives any clear ideas.

When running a remote desktop connection, if the the remote computer has a web player running (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, etc.) it will stop playback and audio will stop outputting from the remote computer.

However, you can hit play again on the web player and it will resume playing. But once you end your remote desktop connection the player will stop again and all audio or video output

There is a post here (https://mzl.la/3Pg6xU3) that stated you can change "security.sandbox.content.level" value to "2" but this did not work.

Any ideas?
