Following an update in february, when I close my session, firefox asks if I want to close all my tabs, if I said yes, when I open the following session I have to fish manually all my tabs in the historic or in the group of tabs. I have the same setting for years with reopen the tabs on the next session etc, and now, I have to quit without closing the browser and shut down the computer with firefox running if I want to have my usual tabs on the next day on my profile. If I quit and close the tabs ( 63...) my profile is empty. No more pined tabs or group of tabs. Can someone explain how to fix that? Thank you

I had 6 groups in the sidebar showing when I closed Firefox last night. Today when I opened Firefox there was only one group showing how do I get the other groups re-displayed in the sidebar? I am finding no clues when using the last line in searching help

A few updates ago I had an extension or setting somewhere which caused a new window to open with the tab which exceeded a pre-defined tab limit. This capability disappeared a few FF updates ago. Is there a way to do this now? Larry

When I close Firefox, it says I have 608 tabs. I keep a lot of tabs open, but not that many! I have tried closing them, but they reappear when I restart Firefox. I want many to reload but not the ones I have closed previously. Please advise -- it is really effecting the performance of my Lenovo laptop.

Just letting you know after trying for a week to find a solution to this problem, I am leaving Firefox after 20+ years. I can not work from this platform any longer.

when i open my firefox, all of my previous opened tabs goes blank and only 1 rightmost recent tab can be open, that was my last night tab,next i close firefox and open again and my tabs its all gone

I recently refreshed my FF installation. Before I did that I had configured my tab settings to always display the x icon (close tab) in all active tabs. After the refresh, the x icon is gone for all tabs.

I cannot remember what I did to get them to display originally. I've tried to do this in the userchrome.css file. But it didn't work. Let me know if you have a solution.

When I start MF, all tabs I have used before open. Good! But one of these tabs are not in use. That it why I want to close it for ever.

The option to delete it for ever is not available.

So, I've just went on a quest to find a solution to my pinned tabs disappearing every few days, and it seems like this can happen if I don't shut down Firefox properly. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

That's my question. The rest of this is curiosity about the issue since it's seemed to have persist for a few years:

Is this intended behavior? No other browser I use does this and judging from the hits I got here, and elsewhere, it seems undesired. Is there some security or privacy reason it's like this?

I know I can repin the tab, or take some session recovery steps, and a few other things... but IMO, those are workarounds, not solutions. Barring some technical or mission limitation, a true solution should prevent this from happening at all.

Hi why have firefox started to close tabs when browser beeing closed? Allready checked the usual sugggestions like open previous, private mode etc. Assuming this relates to an update because have same issue on several computers ( same account)

I have not used tab groups until now. I have some groups in one profile that I want to move to a different profile. If I export the bookmarks from the first profile, will it include the tab groups that I want to move to the second profile?

I'd like to make it so every time I click a link to navigate a certain website, it opens in a new tab. I don't want every link I press across the web to open in new tabs, just this one site. Can't find any settings or extensions for this, but it seems like something someone must have made. Can anyone help?

I've recently come across the issue stated in the title. I've turned the setting off and on again, tried with the setting on and off, and it keeps automatically swapping to the new tab 95% of the time. There are a couple times that it wont swap but it more than certainly happens on the 2nd try. I believe this started happening after update 148 was installed.

This is since the last 2 updates.

I usually maintain 2-3 active windows with multiple tabs. Everytime I turn off my PC, when I turn it on again, and I open Firefox, all my windows and tabs would be restored as I last left them. And if I accidentally closed the windows, I can select reopen Recently Closed Windows.

But since the last 2 updates, after I close the window, the option to reopen Recently Closed Windows were still grey.

And it's a hassle that every time I restart my computer, I need to go to Restore Previous Session to have my tabs open again.

And if I or another user opens it and started a new tab/session without restoring, I will no longer be able to restore my previous sessions and would lose all my tabs.

Can you please tell me why the feature is changes, and is there a way I can easily restore my previous sessions without the trouble.

Steps that remove my pinned tabs from Firefox:

Open pinned web app from taskbar. Open regular Firefox browser.

Any pinned tabs that were in the browser before opening the web app are lost.

Is this already reported? I can't imagine this is intended behavior.

Two days ago while using Firefox my interface/window changed. Whereas before I could have many, many tabs opened across the top of my window, suddenly they are gone. I now have one place where I can put in my new search and no ability to easily access formerly opened tabs. So if I am in my gmail account I can open different tabs/searches and go back and forth between them and my gmail or between search and search. I like to keep open tabs that I want to return to easily - things I haven't completed reading, things I need to get back to to fill out something, etc. Now I can't get to them easily. I know that there is a history, but I am may be wanting to find a tab that I opened two weeks ago and don't remember the date or the name. If they were still opened in this bar across the top (and I am not referring here to bookmarks), I can find them. When I no longer want them opened I delete them. I don't know if this problem is due to the recent Firefox update or if I did something by mistake that caused this. It is making my use of Firefox as my browser very cumbersome and impractical. I also can't spend hours and hours reading through Firefox materials to see if I can find a way out of this problem. Ideally, if I could speak to an actual help desk person, that would be great. I am an 80 year old woman who would like to be able to keep up with all my interests and activities and not being able to use Firefox in the way that I have will really be an obstacle. when i booted up my laptop this morning i notice all of my tab groups were gone. i know how to get to where the tab groups are held, but when i click on the down arrow thing none of my saved tab groups appear. is there any way i can get them back? i used them for art references so theyre pretty important to me
