Hi,

I tried to remote control firefox with the Selenium WebDriver and Java fio testing purposes. This ended in some instances of crashed or otherwise leftover running instances of the geckodriver.

I restarted my computer (Win 10) and started Firefox (no remote software started this time).

And now, whenever I start Firefox, it says it is remotely controlled (Robot icon / Orange bar).

How can I start Firefox in un-controlled mode again (so that ie: I can login into google again)?

I am not sure if this has been asked or not. My question is this for the bookmarks toolbar drop downs, the color is grey, which I have trouble reading sometimes. Is there anyway to change that color to make it a darker background? Are there any other options out there to change to color scheme even just a black background with white lettering?

My bookmarks have been lost. I think they're gone forever. I really needed them for work. A certain person hacked into my 1password account. I know it's "impossible" but not if someone knows you and is determined and smart. Anyway, he changed the email associated with my account, but not the password. I was logging in, and was prompted to enter the "original" email. Huh? I tried various ways to access my account to no avail. I had a recovery key, but no place to enter it. A different email worked. But my bookmarks are gone. Any ideas on how i can recover them?

I would like to check which cookies are set and what content they have stored. Therefore, it is not enough for me to see which provider has stored cookies, by looking at "Settings" -> "Privacy". As far as I know these are stored in the file cookies.sqlite. Is there a way to look directly into this file? Firefox should automatically delete all cookies on exit. Nevertheless this file is 1.5 MB in size. Or is there another way to check the cookies? Thanks in advance. Matthias

scroll bar - how to change the alternative super thin scroll bar back to the default scroll bar?

Recently, I was on a web page and did something that caused the scroll bar to change from the default scroll bar to a super thin scroll bar with no up or down arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar. How do I make this page look like the default?

When I right click on the top bar of Chrome or any other window, I get a menu with items: Minimize, Maximize, Move, Resize, Always on top, Always on visible workspace, Move to monitor left, Close.

When I right click on the top bar of Firefox, I get a menu with items: Pin to overflow menu (grayed out), Remove from toolbar (greyed out), Menu bar, Bookmarks toolbar, Customize...

How do I get the system menu to appear also on Firefox, instead of this Firefox menu nonsense?

Past 2 days I receive unwanted advertisements in my email and all sign-ins are auto filled. In Firefox I have block pop-ups checked and do not have auto fill addresses checked. Any help is appreciated.

somehow bing has become the default search engine. I have followed the directions on how to change it but nothing works. Currently under search Google is set as default but bing won't go. Am I missing something here? Bing is crap. I would like to get Google back. Any suggestions? Thanks Bob

Hi there, My Firefox updated to 82.0.3 and now the menus are waaay too short. The bookmarks menu is so short that I can't even view any bookmarks in the menu.

Everything about my setup is standard in every other way. I found a possible fix by changing the about:config settings and this hasn't worked. Nor has changing the Windows registry.

Is there a way to reset this or make the menus longer so I don't need to scroll down through them?

I have a search toolbar and an adress bar.

I want to use the adress bar for url only, as pasting a url into it activates the search engine. I did set keyword.url to false etc. but no results.

Firefox 83 changed how the search engine options work: Selecting a search engine at the bottom of the search panel now enters search mode for that engine, allowing you to see suggestions (if available) for your search terms. The old behavior (immediately performing a search) is available with a shift-click.

I personally use the old behavior (submit immediately after clicking the option) much more often than I need to see the search suggestion. Is there an option to make the old behavior the default without pressing shift?
