Some weeks ago, I remember that opening certain documents after finding them in Firefox could be done by using it as a temporal file (or at least I deduce that because they were stored in a folder called temp somewhere in my computer's storage). I could do it with docx files, however it does not seem to be the case anymore. It just asks where to save it, which, although is fine, is not what I want. Given that it used to be different, I know it's possible to have it that way, so I'd like to ask: how do I customise Firefox so that I can open files as temporally stored instead of just downloading, as it used to be?

As an example, this is an document I'd like to open as a temporal file.

brief backstory: When I set up my new desktop, I copied over the nightly profile from my laptop. This however meant that Firefox Sync kept confusing my laptop and my desktop, only ever keeping the most recently synced state from either. This persisted even after I changed the devices names.

Searching on the internet, I found a suggestion to delete `services.sync.client.GUID` from about:config. I did that, and long story short, I cannot open any websites on my desktop anymore. It fails immediately with SEC_ERROR_LIBRARY_FAILURE.

This error persists even after

• Refreshing Firefox
• Reinstalling Firefox
• Creating a new Firefox profile

whenever I log back into Sync. So I tried deleting and recreating my Firefox account to get rid of whatever corrupted data is presumably stuck in the sync data, but even then the error still occurs. It only disappears if I create a new profile and *never sign into sync*, but this is not a long term solution.

Does anyone have an idea how to identify and delete whatever setting is causing firefox to choke?

I downloaded the new Beta version of firefox and can not connect with my email server- inbox.com anymore. I have to check my email with google chrome.

I use Firefox developer edition. During the latest update Mozilla removed my most loved feature that asked you what you wanted to do with a file before downloading it. I tried to fix this by going into the settings and changing it to always ask for every file type, but many file types are just missing and I am unable to get them to appear. I looked on my other computers and all file types are present there but not on my desktop for some reason. Is there any way to fix this or to get Firefox to ask before downloading again?

Hi, if I try to go on to the YouTube Studio Website the Site is loading but then results in a White screen I already tried other Browser and they are running fine with this Website. Some hours ago I had no problem with this Website just since I think its now since 2 or 3 hours since it doesn't work anymore... How can I resolve this problem?

I have a use-case: I moved tab to a new window for something special. Youtube player, messenger, etc. I moved it to a second monitor.

I want to continue to open new links in the old ('main') window, not in a new one. Everytime I try to detach tab into separate window, it almost instantly get clogged by new links, whilst I really want it to be 'as is' with selected tab (single tab) been visible all the time and not put to background by every new link I click in the external messenger.

How can I move tab into separate window and 'block' this window from been used for new links?

(FF 97, Ubuntu/Cinnamon).

While in private window, I got a message saying I have been blocked from accessing a hotel website. Is the first time ever something like this happens to me on my computer.

Within a document that I am writing (personal use), I have hyperlinks to YouTube content for study purposes. Clicking these links have always worked, but as of today I get this now. If I type the exact same link into the address bar manually, it goes straight to the content, but clicking the link does not.

I was going to upload a screen shot that is like 102 KB. 20 minutes, and the circle is still going around. I think it maybe time to ditch Firefox. People all over the internet are saying that it is slower than other browsers. So many sites break. An old version of microsoft explorer displays pages better sometimes.

Hey there, My PC just automatically updated Firefox for me today, but now all of my bookmarks are completely gone. I've checked to make sure a new profile wasn't created, but I still have only the one default one. I've confirmed that all my credentials are still remembered when navigating manually to the same site... just zero bookmarks, and no options available to restore then via an older backup, as Firefox failed to make any too.

Any recommendations?

Hello. New clean install of Windows 10 and added all my programs. I've just installed Zemana antilogger and it says it has found adware in Firefox. Big red warning saying - Adware!

Malwarebytes didn't find anything and Norton 360 didn't find anything. So I am just checking if this should be quarantined or marked as safe.

I have installed quite a few programs since my clean install of Windows, including Paint.Net from Major Geeks and Windows 7 games from Winaero. All other programs downloaded were from mainstream sites such as Adobe and Microsoft.

My feeling is that this is a false positive, but I just wanted to check please if the above is a genuine part of Firefox. I literally only did the clean install and program downloads yesterday and this morning.
