Keep getting the latest Firefox (3.6.6) update installation request. Each time I follow instructions exactly but I keep getting the same Firefox dialog box asking for 3.6.6 to be installed - from scratch. 6 times already...tiring...what's happening?

A dialog from Firefox keeps popping up on my screening requesting that I update to 3.6.6...which I've done at least 6 starts ( yes, I restart Firefox)... Doesn't seem to stick...just got another dialog window requesting me to update...it's tiring...what's happening?

This happened

A few times a week

So, recently the title bar in Firefox 3.6.4 looks different in my Windows 7, and has an extra button for switching windows between multiple monitors. It kinda looks like Vista, I think. This change seems to come and go, and it only is there in one of the several Firefox windows I have open... the rest are normal. Also, when it gets bogged down it reverts, and when it catches up, the new look returns... I want to make sure this has to do with an update or something, and not malware, because it's pretty weird and the inconsistency is alarming.

firefox doesn't display bookmarks in the sidebar, only in the menu bookmark. It doesn't display bookmarks in the "organize" bookmarks. It doesn't save tabs on exit. Problem began with 3.6.6

Where is the history for restoring pages after forced quit?

I've did a force quit weeks ago and restarted. The restore tab with all its choices showed in the browser as it should. I wanted the option to go back and open the previously restored ones but haven't yet, and have just been browsing in new tabs. I accidentally quit Firefox and when I restarted nothing is restorable. Is there any way to restore that tab with all my past history, or is it permanently overwritten by a new session history? Thanks, Dan

I'm running FF 3.6.4 with Windows Vista Home Premium. When prompted to download FF 3.6.6 I did, but when I restart FF it refuses to install FF 3.6.6, saying it cannot until I quit FF. But this happens even when I restart Windows, i.e. when FF is definitely not running.
