Hello, I use Firefox on my Mac, and I'm a seller on Etsy. For several days now, I have not been able to get to any page on the Etsy site (my shop, Etsy home page, Etsy help, other shops...). I can get there on my iPhone (Safari) and by using Chrome, which I would rather not use.

I've tried shutting down my Mac, and I've tried quitting and re-starting Firefox.

This is not the first time I've had this issue, but this is the longest it has lasted. I checked with a friend who is also an Etsy seller, and she's experiencing the same problems. It occurs to me that the intersection between Etsy sellers and Firefox users might well be a large group.

The details: MacBook Pro 2015, MacOS Catalina 10.15.7; Firefox 83.0. Today is 2 Dec 2020.

If this is about clearing the cache, I'd appreciate some info about how to do it, as well as what might else could be impacted.

Thanks for any help on this!

I'm trying to access a website, but I keep receiving the same error message over and over saying "Access Denied". This is so strange since I had no problems accessing it at all yesterday. Can anyone help me?

There should be a screenshot of the error message below.

Firefox keeps displaying '400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large' when trying to read articles on www.bloomberg.com.

It only happens when using this site and only on Firefox and not on Safari or Chrome.

How to fix this and be able to use Firefox as default browser for this site?

regards, Arjen

How can I sign up for Mozilla (firefox) forum?

I have an account, but won't recognize my credentials. They ARE correct.

I try to set up a new account and the security question "how many letters in Mozilla" doesn't work. The answer is 7, but says it's wrong. WFT?

In recent weeks, calls with audio have become buggy in Firefox. Whenever I engage in a call that accesses the microphone while I have a bluetooth headset connected, the headset starts continuously toggling call mode on and off for an extended duration. This can be anywhere from 10 seconds/3ish toggles to never-ending (meaning I got tired of waiting after about 3 minutes/55ish toggles).

Today I finally decided to debug further. Here are my findings:

  • Problem only exists in Firefox. I tested with Safari, Chromium, Slack and Discord, with no trouble presenting itself in any of them
  • Problem relates to all bluetooth headsets. I have tested with Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless and Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, with both exhibiting the problem in Bluetooth mode. If I have no bluetooth headsets connected, the problem does not present itself. There is also no problem if I connect the Arctis using the wireless base station (which in turn is connected to the laptop by USB) instead of bluetooth. Using the base station, call and non-call are exposed to my mac as different/simultaneous channels — this may have something to do with it.
  • Problem persists with hardware acceleration toggled off
  • Problem persists in safe mode
  • Problem persists in private mode
  • Problem persists both on Whereby.com and Discord.com. On Whereby, it also interferes with the camera. This leads me to believe it might have something to do with WebRTC, as I think both websites use it.
  • Problem persists after reinstalling Firefox
  • On a possibly related note: if I end the voice chat session after it has stabilised, call mode toggles off slowly and always sends a "start playing media" signal to my Mac, even if it didn't pause anything when toggling call mode on.

In sum, this leads me to believe there is some sort of bug in Firefox causing this, but the lack of other topics on here with the same problem makes me skeptical. I am open to any suggestions with regards to further testing I can do. This is obviously very annoying, and I would like to have bluetooth calls working again.

Firefox had been telling me I needed to do an update for a couple of weeks. So like a fool, today of all days, I said yes. But I did look at what the update was going to do to make my final decision. It looked good so I said OK.

What it actually did was download the complete app and ask if I wanted to keep the old version as well. So I kept the older version (which had been up to date to this point) and opened the new one. It appeared to be totally "plain vanilla" with none of my bookmarks or windows, etc. I looked for my Bookmarks and all it had was some of my bookmarks from the Bookmarks Bar, none of my tons of years of important and properly organized bookmark folders.

I immediately quit, rebooted my computer, and went back to my older app - remember the one I did say to keep - and I got exactly the same behavior from it. I then completely trashed the "new" version and rebooted my computer again . . . then tried the older version . . . but that time things got worse. I did not even get the old Bookmarks Menu bar.

I then rebooted and went to my backup, brought back the copy from my last backup a month ago, and tried to run it. This time I got a message saying that opening the older version could destroy all my settings . . . but I did not care as I would rather go back a month ago than be where I am now! However, it would not allow me to open the older version because of the possibility of destroying . . . nothing!

HOW do I at least get back to my older version that would have probably 90% of my older Bookmarks/Folders and settings? I have that older copy and a full backup of my HD . . . but I do not know what, other than the Foxfire Application I need to look for and replace on my system. I assume there are some files stored in System folders that I need to replace, but I could not find them as I can't find anything in the Library or System directories that are identifiable as Firefox files.

All help appreciated . . . guess there will be no Cyber Monday shopping for me!

Thanks!

Recently, I have been unable to delete Recent History either from the tool bar at the top of the screen or from Preferences. This is an older iMac for which Firefox is up-to-date. What is odd is that I am able to delete History when I use Safari as the active browser. I prefer using Firefox however, so what is wrong and how can I fix it?

For the last week or so, I've been having an issue with media not playing properly on websites. Specifically, when I read webpages which have embedded Twitter images or videos, I see the message "The Media Could Not Be Played" where a screenshot of the media used to appear. There is a blue "Reload" button, and when I click it, I can briefly see the screenshot for a split second before "The Media Could Not Be Played" re-appears.

With YouTube videos, they fail to play and I get the message "An error occurred. Please try again later". This happens with both embedded videos on webpages, and directly on the YouTube website itself.

All of this media works properly when I open the same pages in another browser like Chrome. I would prefer not to switch browsers. Is there a way to fix this error?

Hi! For several days I've been unable to check notifications and click emoticons on FB. I just spoke with a tech who checked other browsers (Chrome, Safari) as well as my phone and I was able to do both with them all. But I still can't in Firefox. I've checked to make sure I'm updated, and I am. So she suggested I reach out to you. Should I try uninstalling Firefox and re-installing? I'm assuming I'll lose my history? Thank you!

So, for some starting from last week, my tab has been crashing like crazy. It doesn't really matter which site I am on, though YouTube or some other site that takes you to a specific login window will crash more often.

For example, there is a site from Naver, whenever I try press login, a window for the signup will popup and then immediately crash. I can't even type a single letter on the login screen.

YouTube has also been a problem whenever I try to watch some videos. I sometimes have to refresh up to 10 or more times to make it to work.

I've tried the safe mode and the problem still persists. It seems like other browser is having some similar problems, so I am assuming there is something wrong with my hardware, but I don't know how to pin it down.

Can someone help me with this problem?

Hi. I would like to restore my previous session when I open Firefox (last version of the browser installed). The option is turned on, but nothing happens when I close the browser and I open it again. The support says I should see "Restore previous session" after "New Private Window", but this option is not there. In the history, the list of recently closed tabs is always empty, there are juste one or two links in the recently closed windows (it seems to be a random list). Can someone help me ? I don't understand why it doesn't work. Thank you :)

I've been using Firefox 63.0 for quite some time and had dozens of websites open. I referred to these websites frequently. After checking some emails this morning, I decided to RESTART my laptop. It turned out this was a HUGE mistake!! When I went to "Recent Items" as I usually do to find the Firefox link, the only version available was 70.0.1. Not only was 63.0 NOT in "Recent Items" I could no longer find it in my Download logs. I had chosen NOT to begin using version 70.0 because there was no mechanism to move my open site from 63.0 to 70.0. HOW DO I FIND AND OPEN 63.0 OR, ALTERNATIVELY, GET 70.0 TO FIND AND RETAIN THOSE SITES I HAD ON MY 63.0? I should note that ALL MY PASSWORDS where required were stored on the 63.0 browser and are NOT present when I use the 70.0 version!!
