I installed Firefox 12 and my nectar toolbar disappeared.

I have reinsted it several times to no avail. All I can see is a blue toolbar where the nectar toolbar should be.

Any thoughts?

I cannot access my Amazon account (using https) with Firefox.

Images do not load when using https. As the "Continue" button is an image, it does not appear on the page. This only happens with Amazon (.com, .co.uk and .fr) and no other secure website.

To access my Amazon account, I have to use IETab, IE9 or Chrome, as the problem only exists with Firefox.

I have restarted with all add-ons disabled: no change. I have updated all the plugins: no change. I do not use any "https-only" add-on.

This problem used to happen very occasionally and would disappear, but it is now permanent.

I see other Firefox users have been reporting the same problem for at least a year now, so this is not unique to me.

Any suggestion welcome...

Firefox Mac. I use MacScan to find and delete tracking cookies. But there are 5 cookies that are stored in Firefox somehow and reinstalled when Firefox is launched. I have Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera browsers. I can open any of them except Firefox and these cookies are not found by MacScan. As soon as I launch Firefox, the hard drive is active longer than is necessary to launch a browser and these cookies appear.

They are reported as as tracking cookies and are named: rotator.adjugler.com www.burstnet.com data.coremetrics.com ad.wsod.com ad.wsod.com

If I delete them, they stay gone until I next launch Firefox.

Any ideas?

1. This has gone on actually since at least Firefox 8 for many of us. With Windows 7 32 or 64bit, AND we are told OTHER OS's as well, Firefox 12 IS consuming too much memory!

When FF 12 memory consumption "hits" 800MB on a 8 GB machine, and continues to slowly climb, FF 12 has code or other problems.

2. ALSO, Firefox 12 under many circumstances, is slowing to a crawl, especially in opening windows and tabs.

NOTHING we do, inspect with memory tools, etc. seems to point to any "culprits" or guide the way to researching and potentially solving these problems...and they ARE problems within Firefox 12, and likely earlier versions.

TIME TO CLEAR THE AIR?

These are problems being seen by others, with or without any (totally blanked out/disabled) Add-On's and even most Plug-In's being disabled or removed, both for testing the problems sen in FF 12.

There IS a problem, or more than one, here, and it's not isolated or "just refer to this checklist" solvable.

There's problems, perhaps memory leaks and other agenda IN THE CODE.

We users need to stop being poo-poo'ed and "pampered" by needless communications that do nothing to truly address the problems.

I've got the most current version of Adobe Flash installed but still can't play videos that play fine with Safari. Don't know if it an extension, plug-in, or ? problem.

When I click on a video, I don't get a message such as missing plug-in or anything. I just get a page with a blank space where the video should be.

My horizontal scroll bar is missing and disabled. Ive tried using overflow-x:scroll, overflow-x: auto, all of it. The scroll bar appears but is disabled. It works in Chrome and IE

What's up. Why would you disable the scroll bars? This makes NO sense.

I updated to Firefox 12 about 20 minutes ago, restarted my PC, but the Firefox Help page (the first page after clicking on 'Firefox Help') says I'm using an insecure version - why? More importantly, is my version secure? Thanks.

Since I installed the latest version of Firefox, every time I attempt to view a Quicktime formatted video, I'm told to download Quicktime. I have a Mac and already have Quicktime. When I go to manage my Firefox add-ons, the Quicktime plugin is no longer there, nor can I find it to download.

Why?

Sometimes when I open a link in a new tab firefox opens it properly but alerts me with "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (bar) isn't associated with any program."

Hello Guys. I am using Firefox V12.0 running on window 7 64 bit platform. Firefox was in perfect condition until when I updated window 7 components. Firefox just exit by itself after few minutes of surfing and it restart by itself again later (approx. 1 minute period). They is no crash ID. Please help ..... Thanks Calvin

Using FF 12.0. Operates normally. Sporadically, after normal exit, the 'crash reporter' screen appears, even though no crash occurred.

How to stop this?

I have had to revert to Firefox 12 because if I use Firefox 17 I cannot sign into eBay. Page says "not responding" I have always had all the new updates up to version 17, but obviously, if I can't sign into eBay there is no point in having version 17.

On more and more pages (this one included) firefox unlalterally changes to an impossible to read (square) font. Ocassionally, a page can start in the usual arial font and then return in the unreadable format. It's becoming far too frequent resulting in me copying the URL to dreaded Windows Explorer - but at least this works. It has to be a simple recification issue else I may as well abandon Firefox after many years. There is also the issue of frequent crashes and getting more frequent - luckily Firefox can restore sessions easily.

Since updating to FF 12, I've experienced increasing problems. Here's the latest:

Clicking the 'Choose Your Color/Size' dropdown does NOTHING. This page works in both IE and Chrome.

I removed and reinstalled FF12. I ran in Safe Mode. I disabled all plugins. Nothing - same behavior.

This on top of FF frequently not responding, slow page loads (even in side-by-side tests with IE and Chrome), and page loads that hang - all of which are not observed in other browsers.

Using V12 Firefox with MS windows 2000 Pro Unknown to me is Firefox makes as many as 2 .TMF ( not .tmP) per minute and only a check of hard drive found over 15,000 .TMFs in a temp directory sucking up over 900 MEG bytes of hard drive !

Shutdown of laptop, reboot, etc or using MS to clean unused files, nothing deletes these .TMP other then me now going to temp directory and deleting them

With my business I am on internet like 14 hours day, 7 days a week so Firefox is used most of the time

I have found no setting in Firefox including cache settings but know no other program is doing this and monitoring temp directory while using Firefox I can see these .TMF files being made/saved about 22 to 70 K bytes in length.

Also why is Firefox not supporting MS windows 200 pro for newer version to V 12 I have now to be installed ?

I can't change my homepage. It always stays "webpoiskovik.net". Even if i change it in options it works only until ne[t restar of mozilla...

So, for a few days now, Firefox has been extremely touchy. It would crash at random times, but now, it crashes whenever I try to type something. It has gotten progressively worse. Also, I cannot play videos, as "Adobe Plugin has crashed". This isn't just once or twice. This is every video on every site. Please help!

If it's of any correlation, I was getting bluescreens and such earlier.

I am presently re-establishing a consultancy business that I ran a few years ago and consequently, am building a WordPress-based website. As I am in a very preliminary stage of development, I set up a local host on wamp server so I could play around with my website project.

On the day this wamp server set up was completed, I was able to activate the WordPress platform, and imported and installed the Weaver II theme. I then switched off my computer for the night. However, on switching on the next morning, I ran into a curious technical problem.

I use Firefox 12 as my browser and every time I entered 'localhost', or 'localhost/wp-admin.php', or any localhost-based word combination, I get automatically redirected to an AltaVista search result (the address that appears in my URL box replacing ‘localhost’ is:

http://us.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=altavista&itag=ody&q=http://localhost/wp-admin/themes.php.

Is there a reason for this? Do you think I did something wrong in my installation, although everything seemed to be working apparently normally the night before?

From my layman’s viewpoint, it seems to me that Firefox is confusing the ‘localhost’ request to open an internal file with an external search request for an item called ‘localhost’.

Any suggestions, advice to fix this?
