firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?

1/19/26 I have used Firefox for years and now it looks like Microsoft Bing has taken over and I cannot get Firefox back. It installs to a certain point and stops. Can you help me? email: [edited email from community support forum]

This has worked for me for years. It just began a few days ago when I tried to login and look at my new auto insurance policy. I've cleared the cache/cookies to no avail. I can access the web site with Edge (yuk)

This is a brand new problem, for me. It just started today when using FireFox. On nearly all websites, including Mozilla support, when I click on an embedded link on a site, firefox asks me to select an app to open the https. Even if I tell it to let firefox open all https, it still asks me everytime. to make it better, it still doesn't always let me open the link and I go through the same thing when I click the link again.

This also happens when clicking on the search box in *any* search engine, e.g. Google, Startpage

I've attempted to change all cookie & tracking settings, no help. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

This is making FireFox useless.

I had to use my default browser, Brave, just to submit this question. I only use FireFox for social media accounts, sites I need to link to my sm accounts and the occasional web search. For example, linking my Etsy shop to facebook. When I clicked the link "link to facebook" is when I noticed this problem.

When I opened a new Firefox page it contained links to more or less interesting articles in newspapers. For some reason I had to reset Firefox, now everything works fine again. But the links to articles are gone and I have no idea how to get them back. Any hints?

For the last couple of days, the address bar on the web apps that I've installed to my taskbar has been shrunk to about a third its usual length. I don't have flexible space put anywhere on my toolbar, and the problem is only on the sites I've put in the taskbar, not in regular browser windows. Is there a way to fix it, and get it back so it reaches all the way to the extension icons?

I'm using Firefox 147.0.1 on Windows 11, Version 25H2, Build 26200.7623, if that helps

Somehow yahoo became my default search engine and when I do a search I get the same advertisement that blocks the entire landing screen, how can I change it back to google?

Hello community, I have many history items from forms that I want delete, I can delete formhistory.sqlite from Firefox profile in AppData, but after while all unwanted items are back downloaded from Firefox Account (cloud). Is it possible somehow delete those file in Firefox Account too?

I got a new tablet and synced my Fire fox but did it from the new device so it removed all my pinned shortcuts from my other computers. How can I recover my shortcut settings? What is the correct way to sync other devices to the one you have as the main one?

After the last Firefox update the Home Screen Short Cut List is populated with every link I access on the Web. I don't need a short cut to everything I might view in a days time. That's what my History list is for.

The top two toggles in the "location" area of privacy settings are OFF. Greyed out. The rest are also in the off position and greyed out other than "Notify when apps request location" is toggled on. I accidentally said "yes" when it wanted me to share location. (I just started using Firefox last night). Then it opened my "settings" for my computer on it's own and I closed it out quickly as I was working on something important and I cannot have distractions. I did not mess with any toggles or click anywhere else except the big X in the right upper corner. Since I didn't mean to click yes now it is prompting me quite often, every few minutes, to turn the location service on and automatically opens the settings for my laptop to the page "Privacy & Security > Location. How do I get this Madness to stop?
