Some of the installations seem to be blocked by Microsoft if you are using a Microsoft system. If the Software being downloaded is not sold by Microsoft store, Microsoft blocks it or deforms it. I've been using Firefox since forever but over the last couple of months, the auto translate subtitles (to English) hasn't been working when watching Youtube videos. There's a thread on the Youtube support site with nearly 40,000 posts of people with the same issue and tonight I was trying to watch a video where the hosts talk in Italian, so I use auto translate to English subtitles but no subtitles appear. It will show Italian language subtitles.

I've gone back through this Youtube channel's history trying videos I've previously watched from months/years ago when auto translate used to work but even they're not working now.

I decided to try the video in Edge browser and to my surprise the auto translate to English worked there. They also work in Chrome.

So what could be causing this issue on Firefox, which started about August time?

This is quite bizarre as I assumed all the processing/translation was done by Google/Youtube so in what way can Firefox be part of this issue?

To be clear, subtitles in the (foreign) language the people are speaking, works. Subtitles translated from that language to English (or other languages) has stopped working. Subtitles translated from that language to English IS working on Edge and Chrome browser.

146.0 (64-bit) Windows 11 December 11, 2025 Turned on computer this am, Firefox webpage popped up telling me about what is in it's future but now my side bar is black print on really dark background. Help!

Every couple of minutes Firefox just freezes. YouTube buffers, all open tabs just stop working. I can open new tabs but i cannot search up anything or go into any websites. Is there any fix for this?

Suddenly I can no longer connect to gmail or googlemail on mozilla. It works fine everywhere else. At present I'm having to use Microsoft Edge for emails. Everything else on Mozilla seems to work fine. I don't get any messages to say why. The input just sits there with the fullstop going left and right. Any ideas ?

What is apparently the official Firefox policy is incredibly dumb:

They provide users with that ability to add secondary email addresses, recovery codes, and authentification, BUT they REQUIRE access to the primary email address to make the secondary email address primary.

IF the primary email address is unavailable, the secondary email addresses, recovery codes, and authentification are completely useless for making the secondary email address the primary one.

This supposedly provides "enhanced security".

Pro Tip: If you deny ALL internet access, you will be very secure on the internet.

Genuinely astonished that Firefox Support thinks this is not insane.

My Bookmarks are missing. I see backups under the profile/bookmarkbackups folder but when I manage bookmarks, they are not in the restore dropdown. I have followed the steps to delete the places.sqlite but when I reopen firefox, I do not see the bookmarks have been restored. I thought it might have been related to Norton Utilities so I renewed a subscription but no luck. I also have a json file with my bookmarks but I cannot choose it from Manage Bookmarks, either

Over the past 2 or 3 weeks, I've noticed that firefox tabs are crashing more often out of nowhere.

Here's one of the links for the most recent tab crash. Other crashes pretty much were all the same. I can't read or understand this, so I was hoping someone who can is able to tell me what is wrong.

I fear that it might be hardware related, as I've had tabs also crash on Edge and on a new install of Firefox Developer Edition (which I downloaded simply to test if things crashed there as well.) I've also noticed programs like Discord & Elgato Wave Link sometimes randomly crashing as well - but I'm unsure how to pull logs for those, Firefox was the easiest.

My laptop's hardware specs are as follows:

It looks an update occurred but now my bookmarks Column has a white background with white type. I can't read anything there because its all the same color how do I change the background to black?
