Hello!

I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.

Can anyone help, please?

I can no longer pin extensions/add-ons to the toolbar. My interface does not look like the one in the help section. I don't see a gear, I see three dots. And when I click on the three dots I don't have the option to pin to toolbar.

I am using Firefox 147.0.4 on Mac OS 26.3 Tahoe.

I seem to have been using Firefox for so long, that I’ve forgotten some of the basics. I have two Apple systems. An M1, 2020 MacBook Pro and an Intel Mac Mini. Due to issues with the MacBook Pro I needed to reformat it and am slowly adding all my applications. When I added Firefox, logged in and entered the confirmation code and synced my settings none of my extensions appeared in the menu bar (please see the screenshot as to how they appear on the Mac Mini). So the question I have is what do I need to do to get them there on the MacBook Pro.

I was using Video Download Helper to download some YouTube videos. Suddenly, it stopped this evening. The button would remain grey. I tried using another LinkedIn video, and it worked, but it did not work with any YouTube video links. Hi, I am using Firefox to open my different mail boxes from : yahoo.fr or orange.fr or laposte.net. Usually everything are going OK and I can read the attached files except the one sent by my friend from England. Sorry for my English but you may have understood I am french (nobody is perfect). Well, I am using windows 11, he is using windows 11 ; I am using Firefox but he is using mainly Microsoft Outlook. All his attachment are coded as winmail.dat and I can't open them. If I use Microsoft Edge it's not much better. When he uses Chrome and Gmail it's perfect and I can open his attachment with Firefox. He is a computer man, programmer, and his Outlook seems to be correctly set and he doesn't understand the problem or what's happening. I am not the only one in that case. It seems it's an Outlook setting specific problem according to Microsoft. Clearly, I don't want to give up with Firefox. Does it exist an add-on or extension for Firefox which could solve this difficulty ? or a decoder add-on ? It seems there is at least one for Thunderbird but 6 yo... Would it run under Firefox even it's specific ? For fun I should try Firefox with Linux just to see if Linux is better at decoding winmail.dat attachments. Thanks for any help, setting or specific add-on you can provide me. Richard.

I cannot get access to the Toolbar to make the Evernote Web Clipper appear even though it is listed in to Add ons Manager I don't have this problem on my other, WIndows 10, computer. Is this a known problem with WIndows 11?

I want to avoid any 'ai assist' searches because I do not find their summaries accurate or valuable enough to be worth the environmental impact they consume. I know my web browser searches are not under the control of firefox, but for privacy and security I kill cookies when I end browsing sessions. So I am not staying logged in to search engines when I finish my sessions, and setting my preferences to 'no ai assist' on DDG doesn't last session to session because the search engine defaults to 'ai assist' searches now, as does google.

Are there any search engines that do not use ai?

Has anyone written an extension/add-on to FF that would add 'minus ai' to all my searches no matter what browser I use? Or otherwise indicate to search engines that I do not want ai-assisted summaries period?

We've got various privacy options built into FF--this is why it is my preference always--and it would be LOVELY to have a 'no ai' option too.

I have just had to replace my PC following a bit of a disaster with my old one. The new PC has Windows 11. As usual I downloaded Firefox as I always use this. Somewhere in the installation of Firefox I must have been asked about blocking ads, but I don't remember. Now all ads are blocked, which I don't mind, but some sites are asking me to disable my ad-blocker if I want to use their site. Mostly I don't but there is one I need to use, so I would like to add that site as an exception, but I cannot find any mention of any ad-blocker in settings. Where do I find this? and how do I add exceptions?

The only add-on that I have in Firefox is the 'Privacy Badger' which could be the problem I suppose, but I can't see the website listed in the ones Privacy Badger is blocking.

What is the correct approach to establish a customized Startpage search profile excluding all Wikimedia Foundation sites? What is the proper setting to create a persistent and customized search engine configuration that excludes all Wikimedia Foundation domains even after an operating system update or reinstallation? Is it permitted to manually manage a customized search engine?

I have been advised to utilize an add-on or create a dedicated profile.

What would be the most suitable solution in my case, and the one that will be the most effective and stable ?

It is unfortunate that mozilla-firefox does not appear to offer a 'blacklist' or exclusion list feature, as that would be the most direct approach to excluding the Wikimedia Foundation websites from the search results.

On Firefox version 140.8 using a MacBook Air, shortcuts for Extensions no longer appear as icons in the toolbar.

Online guidance to get Extension icons back in the Toolbar have failed. One suggested following the jigsaw icon in the toolbar to 'Extensions'. But none of the links under Extensions included the option to 'pin to the toolbar'. Another suggested using the 'Customizing the Toolbar' route. That too included no option to add Extensions.

Anyone know a better fix? Your suggestions are much appreciated!
