I have Firefox auto save password on my browser. Sadly my pc was just stolen. I’ve deleted my Firefox account since. When the burglars turn on my pc and open Firefox will they have access to all my saved passwords or will all that be wiped when I deleted my original account?

Many thanks.

Hello.

backed up an Ubuntu repository version of Mozilla firefox that was working and then did a new install of firefox from Mozilla repository.

Migrated bookmarks. Followed instructions to migrate passwords - copy over key4.db and logins.json to new install - but the new install does not prompt for passwords and when I look at the settings there are no saved passwords showing.

What's the preferred method to move over auto logins and passwords?

Firefox Cookies Being Deleted

Since the most recent Firefox for Windows update, all of my Firefox browsers on my PCs have suddenly stopped saving my already logged in cookies for my major use websites, such as Facebook, Outlook, Amazon, and Netflix. For the past few years, these websites all stay logged in, even when I have Firefox set to delete cookies when the browser is closed, in part because I have these websites all carefully noted in the cookies and site data exceptions. As I said, I've never had problems for the past few years. But since the most recent update a few weeks ago, all of my websites log me out after 24 hrs. I even changed the main cookies settings to not delete any cookies when the browser is closed, but that makes no difference. Something has changed in the most recent Firefox that has disabled the managed exceptions to cookie deletion. I'd love some help on how to fix this, as changing settings does not seem to do it.

Hi all, I have an Apache site on Kubuntu 20.04 with a certificate signed by my private CA. I've added the root CA ceritificate in Firefox and in Chromium.

Firefox throws a SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE error

Chromium accept the certificate as valid

What can I do?

Notes: the site url is "https://hdev.h.net" (with an internal IP address inside my lab)

Attached there are:

- the authority settings page
- the certification authority certificate as seen by Firefox
- the site certificate

Firefox was updated to v82.0.2 yesterday, and since then I'm getting this error using Firefox to connect to my NetGear ReadyNAS admin page, which uses the original self-signed certificate. Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to anemone. Certificate key usage inadequate for attempted operation. This is the error:

Error code: SEC_ERROR_INADEQUATE_KEY_USAGE

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.

It doesn't even display the certificate or give me the option to "Continue anyway". I have to use Chrome to connect, which make me even more unhappy! With the previous version of FF, I could log into the admin page. I should have the option to accept that the connection isn't trusted, and continue to work. This NAS is in my home network behind a router and admin access is password controlled. That's safe enough for my purposes.

I am trying to browse websites through a proxy that intercepts the TLS connections and signs the certificates using a private CA certificate.

If I'm using only a root CA certificate, setting it on my proxy as well as in the OS's certificates store, I can browse the internet without any issues. The chains in this case would be: Root CA -> Server Certificates

However, my setup mandates that I use an intermediate CA on the proxy. The chains in this case would be: Root CA -> Intermediate CA -> Server Certificates If I add an intermediate CA to the proxy and the root CA to my OS's certificates store, I get the following error:

" Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.youtube.com. Peer’s certificate has an invalid signature. Error code: SEC_ERROR_BAD_SIGNATURE

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

"

I'm using Firefox 82.0.2 on Windows 10.

How can I get more details on why it's failing? I've tried looking in the "Security" tools tab, but I see only this error ID.

Thank you, Cosmin

My Firefox privacy preferences tell me that "stored cookies, site data, and cache are currently using 1.0 GB of disk space", but when I click on "Manage Data", no sites are listed. I have also always had the "delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" checked. What then explains the 1.0 GB of disk space?

Thanks.

I also had a problem on my Mac with Weather Channel and Weather Underground's Wundermap not loading on Firefox.

I launched Firefox in Safe Mode and the maps loaded with no problem. It turns out that the culprit preventing loading in my Firefox browser was the DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extension. Since disabling it, the maps are back for the first time in at least a year. I had searched for the answer to my issues for that entire period with no luck. Now I don't have to open another browser for a decent weather map.

I hope this will help some of my fellow Firefoxers.

My FF updated to version 82.0.2 (64-bit).

The file logins.json apparently contains all saved logins that I had before the upgrade. However, none shows up when nedded. I've added some that where already there and a new entry was created, at the end of the array of entries. I could not see why (1) the already existing entry could not be used and (2) the new entry did not replace the old one.

The control page of my locally connected printer at 192.168.1.5 is being blocked as a "dangerous" site because it doesn't have a valid certificate as a web site. It's literally RIGHT NEXT TO MY COMPUTER! No path to the public internet is involved! How can I make this an exception (i.e. a "trusted site") to the certificate error blocking routine? I don't want to drop certificate checking for OUTSIDE web pages, just the one that controls my printer (the same IP address is accessible for printing and scanning, but not for editing my printer's options).

The frame for the printer's home page displays but with no data, and no data is displayed when anything is clicked. I've tried to add a screen shot but it doesn't upload.

The Firefox desktop browser is the only one that give me this error Error code: SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE I am on a MAC OS using latest version of Mozilla Firefox desktop browser: 82.0.1 (64-bit) Incognito mode, cleared everything, reinstalled the browser and still got the same error. Talked with GoDaddy support and they told me everything is ok on their side. What is going on? Why: Safari, Chrome, Opera, Firefox Mobile (iOS) and so on have no problem loading my pages, but Firefox desktop has?

I looked on my GoDaddy hosting cPanel and the SSL are correctly generated and valid, so I don't understand what is going on with this browser.

Thank you! PS - If this is already answered, please point me to the correct reply.

This site has been allowed in my about:preferences#privacy for many months.

In the first screenshot, you can see [top right] that SIGN IN box is disabled.

I have also attached a screenshot of the Permissions settings for this site.

Anyone have any ideas?

My security settings never changed, I did configure firefox to delete history when closing, but preserving cookies and active logins. I also tried to add those websites to trusted sites (in the tracking menu, the shield to the left of the url). Any advice?

This identical message is has been sent to Webroot support.

There are several websites which I visit on a daily basis both at home and work. At home and work I regularly go to Amazon and Google. At home I go to Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, and others. I use Firefox at home and work. Webroot Internet Security Plus v9.0.29.52 is being used at home and a corporate version of Webroot is being used at work. Tonight I started the home computer up and found that Amazon required login credentials. I COPIED the login information from the Firefox "Saved Logins..." screen to log into Amazon. Instagram, et al. seemed to access fine. I performed a complete Webroot scan of my computer and one "threat" was discovered, but no information about this "threat" could be found. I then just went back to Webroot to get the version number for this complaint and it doesn't even recognize the fact that I performed a manual scan an hour ago. It thinks the last scan was 22 hours ago and it only took one second when in fact the LAST scan took over six minutes!

In order to author this complaint, I had to restart Firefox. Currently Amazon is the only website that has retained login information. All others - Google, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr AGAIN require logins! AGAIN, I can go to the saved logins within Firefox, COPY the credential information and PASTE it into the appropriate fields in the appropriate website and I'm logged back in...for now.

PLEASE explain to me how this information is continually being wiped clean and if Webroot isn't doing it, then what is, since Webroot is telling me my system is clean.

Thank you.
