i am experiencing an issue with firefox where backup (Firefox Backup) is not working since version 148.0

problem: - when I try to create a backup, i get the error: “Hmm, there was a problem with the backup. Please try again in a few minutes.”

what I have already tried: - enabled and disabled backup password - changed the backup folder/location - cleared browser cache - tested across multiple updates (issue persists)

- backup is enabled, but I cannot create one - the error occurs every time - restarting the browser and system did not help

I've just booted my machine and opened Firefox, only to be presented with a completely fresh install.

All my settings, bookmarks and history gone. It was fine yesterday when I closed it and powered down.

I'm running Kubuntu, I've checked the .mozilla folder and nothing...it's like my profile has just been overwritten.

Not happy at all, I'm starting to dislike Firefox.

Can anyone offer any help or advice please?

I am the developer of FastF1, an open source Python package for downloading and analyzing Formula 1 race results, timing data and telemetry. The package is widely used in the fan community for independent analysis of results. For some advanced features, the addon requires users to authenticate with their Formula1/F1TV account. Since their services don't have an open login API, a companion addon is required to allow users to sign in using their browser and the official website.

I have just noticed that my developer account has been banned and the addon was blocked in Firefox. I have not received any email about this and don't know why exactly this decision was made. I'd like appeal this and reinstate my account and the addon, but I don't know how to proceed from here.

I have tried waiting for more than 24h, not working, and submitted a request at Bugzilla (maybe it's because I didn't write the request in the right way so I haven't got response yet).

I saw the update that you added vpn to firefox, but I can't use it. It doesn't show up in the toolbar anywhere and there are no vpn options anywhere in settings. When I try and create a second profile THEN I get the vpn option but when I click on it it says that I can only use it with the original profile.

Хочу заметить что у меня включена функция Handoff и она мне удобна, но мне неприятно видеть блок с ярлыками и строкой не по центру. Я использую тему ffultima, скажу еще раз, вчера все было нормально. When I have stories (articles) recommended through Pocket on new tabs that I'm not interested in I will typically "thumbs down" or "dismiss" the story. What I have found recently is that causes them to be promoted to me more rather than less. I believe it's interpreting my interaction as engaging with the content rather than not wanting to see it again. For example, I was shown an article on American football three weeks ago and I gave it a thumbs down. Later that day it was three articles. I gave them the same thumbs down. After repeating this process for days, weeks later I'm still getting multiple articles recommended per day related to football. I've never read one out of interest, and I didn't have any recommendations related to sports until the first one I gave a thumbs down. Based on that, I'm convinced it's having the opposite than intended effect. Dismiss doesn't seem make a difference. Please give me a way to tune the algorithm to what I actually want to see, I like this feature and don't want to have to turn it off.

I can't find a place to manage my payment methods. The only place I found that was when I check out and fill in my information in a store website.

The browser suggests my card and under that it says "Manage payment methods".

When I click that it opens "about:preferences#privacy-form-autofill" and then quickly becomes "about:preferences#privacy".

I was really shocked and horrified to see Firefox place the Qatari regime's propaganda mouthpiece on my home screen. The Qatari regime is one of the worlds worst abusers of human rights. It allows no political parties, tolerates no criticism, and severely punishes online dissent. It has absolutely no LGBQ rights, is deeply misogynistic and antisemitic and uses slave labor extensively. Additionally, it is a known supporter of extremism and terrorism. It is not OK to push their propaganda outlet on the front page.

First of all I've noticed that even logging in to the account management page doesn't work with my vpn on. So of course sync itself doesn't either. It works perfectly fine with it off though. Is there an IP address that I can add to split tunneling to allow only the sync/FF account manager through my vpn? Or another way I'm not aware of? I'd rather not have to allow the whole browser through my vpn if possible.
