Recently a popup notification came up when I opened firefox on my mac. Its been awhile since I opened it and without thinking I clicked : o ~ Now I worry if it'ss ledgit? Does Firefox give a popup box in top right corner when it needs an update? I wasn't on any strange website or anything but I'm always concerned and dont remember seeing that before.

My firefox now says its up to date after it restarted ~ it's running 125.0.3

Any advise is appreciated.

in the firefox browser is there any way to see the casting the browser screen to chromecast on tv. similar to 'cast to media device' in edge browser or chrome browser.

I find it very difficult using Awsome screenshot, in fact I never use it, but used to use it, when it was on my tool bar, can I get it back there.

I cannot drag it from "customise tool bar" as it does not show there, it shows in my list of add ons, I have tried removing it, then reinstalling it.

How do I get Firefox browser to stop from loading automatically upon booting up or restarting?? This has been happening since the last browser update. I checked the Firefox controls but could not find a button to toggle this off. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi, so on my office pc I work with firefox. I made an account specifically to store every bookmarks etc on that account so when my company updates something I'll always have my bookmarks. Unfortunately somehow since yesterday they all disapeared, and no I'm unable to recover them with the different methods that are foreseen on your website. please advise kr daniel

I am trying to force two or three websites to detect my timezone as UTC, even though my local system time is not UTC. I figured out how to do this with ALL sites by setting privacy.fingerprintingProtection to "true" and entering "+JSDateTimeUTC" in privacy.fingerprintingProtection.overrides in about:config.

Now according to docs, privacy.fingerprintingProtection.granularOverrides "can be used to add or remove features on a domain granular level if privacy.fingerprintingProtection is enabled," but I can't figure out how to get it working.

Any input is appreciated.

Hi, I have been using firefox for many years and never showed me an UAC popup requiring permissions to update firefox as soon as i clicked the firefox icon in the taskbar. Today suddenly required it. I am administrator in windows 10, and have automatic updates enabled as always. I am using 125.0.3 (64-bit) version. This could be a bug or a virus? i am worried that could have given permission to a virus to install something else when i pressed the firefox icon.

hi the translate fucion in firefox is vry usefull, but i want to NOT TRANSLATE ANYTHING EXCEPT sites i select only

i.e. surfing around german site.. .leave it german, but i if i am interest in "german.de/talkshow" select it and translate only this

i see option to translate EVERYTHING and use some exception, but its the opposite of what looking for

I've disabled all of my addons, cleared cache, and still youtube is broken for me. It works fine with Chrome still. Any ideas on how to fix? See attched screenshot.

My Windows virus protection shows nothing but I keep getting notices int he lower right corner of my screen that say Mozilla Firefox ESR and tell me there is an infection. It tries to take me to a website to scan and then buy McAfee to fix it. If I make sure Firefox is shut down (forced through Task Manager) it seems to go away. It appears that only the Firefox browser may be infected.

I can no longer play any podcast since upgrade to 125.0.3 The arrow/button to play any podcast is neutral, is not active. Or, on spotify if finding a podcast on gardening, clicking the play button plays something on a completely different topic.

The RAM usage increases, from 1GB to 40GB+ within a matter of minutes of starting Firefox. I have not added any extensions in months. I turned of several with no improvement. I have 6 tabs opened. Firefox has crashed several times the past couple fo months. I have been away on travel for 2 weeks, and today the problem is much worse.

Firefox (37916) 51GB, Extensions (34308) 370MB, GPU (33072) 298MB , and everything else < 100 MB.

I really love Firefox - use across my 4 devices. Only on my desktop am I seeing this. Laptop, iPad, and Android all work fine. Running Win 11

I want to keep browser open after closing last tab. I changed the boolean parameter "browser. tabs. closeWindowWithLastTab" to "false" but the browser still closes with closing of last tab.

What else is required ?

something apparently got corrupted in firefox.. i tried running update and i keep getting failed to update.. i have refreshed.. i have uninstalled and reinstalled ...nothing. i am sure there is a folder or file somewhere that is corrupted and i cannnot find it. because even when i uninstall and reinstall fresh. all my bookmarks are there .. how to i start a TRUE NEW install??

I keep getting notifications asking me to update firefox every couple of days. I download the update, it goes smoothly, the notification disappears, but it comes back in a day or two. I also have my setting to supposedly do updates automatically, but that doesn't seem to be working. Please help!
