Hello,

For the past couple weeks, comments on WSJ articles and opinions have not shown up in Firefox. They show up just fine if I use Edge. I'm running Firefox 128.0.2 on a Windows 10 computer.

I run uBlock origin. I tried disabling it, but that has no effect on the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi. For the past few months I have been unable to play samples from the Audible website in Firefox on my android phone. When I click the word "Sample" Audible opens up a new tab with their Web player and I always get an error message that is just a rectangular box with an exclamation mark inside a triangle on the left side of the box. (Screenshot attached.) There are no words inside the box and the only option is to close the tab. Since there is no actual message I'm not sure what the problem is.

Playing samples used to work fine when you could play them within their web page before Audible changed its system. I seem to be able to play samples on Audible's Web player in Chrome, but would prefer to keep Firefox as my default browser. I have tried deleting all history, cookies and cache; closing and reopening Firefox; turning phone off and starting again after an hour. I've also tried enabling autoplay, but that made no difference. I was thinking that the issue may be with my other settings within Firefox, but I can't tell. Any help you can provide would be great. I just received my new Windows 11 computer and I'm setting up Firefox to my liking. I have sync turned on, but some of my settings didn't sync, (possibly because none of my other PCs are turned on?). Anyway, that's not the issue I'm writing about; I was checking the DNS over HTTPS to see what the setting was. The status showed "active" and the setting was set on "default protection".

I changed it to "max protection" but later decided to switch it back to default protection. When I did, the status now showed "inactive". I switched it back and forth between max and default, and the status change from active to inactive each time.

I read that DNS over HTTPS can show inactive under the following conditions: Firefox detects errors or certain network conditions like VPN, parental controls, enterprise policies that tell Firefox not to use DoH. I have a VPN turned on, but it is only active when I'm connected to an unsecured network, and the on/off toggle for the VPN shows "turn on", indicating that it is off and waiting for a network that has a weak security key.

Did I mistakenly think I saw active when it was actually inactive when I first checked the status of the DNS over HTTPS? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. When opening links from a search, I would like to have them always open in a new tab. How can I set this as a preference in Mozilla / Firefox?

Currently, I always right click and must select "open link in new tab." I see the option in Settings to "always open in new window", but that is not my objective. I would like to open in new tab, so that I retain my original search results in the current tab.

Hello I am constantly switching between Bookmarks and Tree Style Tab in the sidebar. The toolbar button "Show sidebars" is fine for switching between sidebar displayed or not, but switching between Bookmarks and Tree Style Tab is not so convenient : i have to go through the small menu and select either Bookmarks or Tree Style Tab, which is two clicks and a mouse move away, boring when you are constantly switching... Is there a way to add a second toolbar button to do this switching (or have two buttons, one for Bookmarks and one for Tree Style Tabs) ? Hope someone has a solution, thanks in advance. Alain Coste

2ndly its hard to get in touch with your crap support line can you also make it easier to get hold of your team rather going through 1000x pages, why is everybody not keeping any proper contact information you and google are same [edited]. exceptionally down the drain support. Does this mean Mozilla Firefox sees the https://consent.cookiebot.com cookie as a third party tracking cookie that needs to be blocked as nobody gave consent to load the cookiebot consent popup?

Question 1: Is according to Mozilla Firefox https://consent.cookiebot.com a third party tracking cookie that needs to be blocked if you as a user want to have guarantees over your privacy online?

Question 2: Is it not strange to see Firefox blocking a widely used cookie consent system to protect users by giving consent to select which cookies will be set yes/no?

Currently the taskbar icon only offers a few tasks in the context menu, such as open new tab, new window or private new window.

I understand that accessing about:config would allow me some other options, such as recently visited pages. And also allows me to remove those tasks.

I want to add the option to select which profile I open from that menu, instead of opening the default one, then selecting the correct profile in about:profiles that, in turn opens yet another window.

I tried adding a value "browser.taskbar.lists.profiles.enable" and several variations of that command. None worked.

Is there a way to add that option, so when I right-click the icon in the taskbar I can directly select the profile I want to launch?

can't download files from any sites (it write eror....) i can dowland only from google wtf i live with this problem -+ 1 year if you need to write me i add my discord and telegram to images if you have some ideas to fix write me please. Thanks🤍

Pressing Alt in Firefox in Linux (Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Linux Mint 22.xx) brings up a top menu, which is hugely annoying as I'm always trying to to a window action if I'm pressing Alt.

The suggested solution is to go to about:config and change ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses to "false".

But this keeps reverting itself. (Between every other reboot?). Alt will again bring up this menu.

How can I permanently disable this shortcut?

If I display (e.g.) Nepal in Google maps, initially the Nepali names appear beneath the Latin alphabet names, but only for a split second. They are then overwritten with unicode block icons. Some scripts work (e.g. Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese, Armenian), but most south Asian scripts do this weird "works for a split second" rendering.

I'm running 128.8.0esr (64-bit) on Debian 12.

This problem does NOT occur in Safe Mode!

In Normal mode, I disabled all plugins and extensions, but the rendering still breaks.

Any ideas?

This issue started a few weeks ago. When I receive an email in my outlook account and click on it, a new window opens but there is no content, the page is blank. I know the link is working because if I copy and paste it into a new window it works fine. Is there a setting I need to change to be able to click on a link and have it open, like it has in the past? Since it is a new issue I am not sure if it is from an update or something. Thank you

I just want to bring it to your attention, that since my latest Windows 11 updates, Firefox browser has been having browsing issues.

1. Basic or multiple tabs are no longer browsing as before. Pages such as: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, CNN, Microsoft home Page, Google, GoDaddy, and so on.

Please note: I have cleared the Cache and internet history, and this does not make any difference. The issue remains the same.

What is causing this basic browsing issue with this version of Firefox?

I have an address/search bar at the top of my screen AND one in the center of my home web page beneath the Firefox logo/brand. Currently, if I want to effect a search the Firefox web homepage uses the address bar across to top of the page. I want to set a preference/priority to using the search bar beneath the Firefox logo/brand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

captive portal detection has gone crazy - suddenly is popping up almost every time i go to a new site from my home pc on a secure att network ; it even pops up when i am already logged into a site & go to a new page; if this is a "feature" - tell me how to make it go away

Since today, Firefox is no longer loading the previous settings. Every time I open it up, it opens as it was newly installed.

I already did the following: https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1226076 To no avail.

What changed? I didn't change anything in my computer for this to start.
