Hi, I recently reinstalled windows, before that I wanted to make a backup of my data from firefox, addons, bookmarks, history and cookies. When I looked into google it redirected me to this page https://support.mozilla.org/pl/kb/firefox-backup-danych-przechodzenie-na-nowe-urzadzenie Great! I thought. I was logged in, synchronized and was ready to go. After installing new windows, I downloaded firefox, logged in, and nothing... no button to restore my addons or any data. So I searched far and wide and still didn't find anything. Please tell me how to restore my data it was synced.

I keep getting promts to update firefox to the latest version about every 10 days, why is this? or could it be a scam? I find it unusual to get so many prompts popping up quite regularly to upate firefox, most other programes that I run on my win pc don't do this

Hi, I'm looking for a way for everything saved on my firefox account including bookmarks, favorites, history etc.. to be automatically saved/backed up, EXACTLY the same way like Apple has it with iCloud.

If I lose my phone, I can log into icloud and get everything 100% the way it was on my new phone.

If I reset my computer, I want to be able to log into my firefox account and have everything exactly the same.

How to do this? I was told the firefox account sync doesn't back anything up...

When i use (and by inference... sign into Mozilla) i have a toolbar with several bookmarks - that are specific to my usage. In a way, you could say they are private to my sessions (not specifically the one i am in, but on a recurring basis) and should not be available to others... When I sign out of Mozilla (either manually or as an optional default for when the browser is closed...) I want the bookmark tabs on the toolbar to also go into storage. -->Is this possible (how?)

How sync'd devices are handled is another discussion For now.... let's address this device as an independent connection.

Used firefox for many years on all my computers using OS 7 and 10 but today when I clicked on firefox I got news feeds . I have been trying all day to remove them , I might also add that all others computers with my account on has also got the same news feeds on .

How do I remove them I even tried to restore my windows 10 desk top today to a early date but now that computer wont even boot up .

Will someone please tell me how to remover the news feeds .

This seems to be a recent issue. Normally, when I click a link for a map (such as "get directions" for a business,) the map will be rendered in Google Maps. This is good for my use, because I'm looking for Latitude/Longitude and distances, and this is easy in Google Maps. However, the maps now default to MapQuest. I'm not finding any setting in the browser to change that.

Can you help? This problem has sent me back to using Chrome.

I had issues with my computer which got me into a situation where i had to delete all partitions of my drives, starting from 0. Signing in my firefox account in a fresh win install suddenly recovers NOTHING and i am now panicking as i had very important accounts & passwords, bookmarks, tabs, extensions, etc. I have tried other devices too without any luck. I need help recovering all these asap.

I downloaded Qwant browser some years ago out of curiosity then took this laptop offline. When I allowed this laptop back online, I noticed Qwant and disabled it, as I am accustomed to DuckDuckGo and no longer feeling curious, just want to get work done. Qwant is showing as disabled (under the Disabled heading, and greyed out).

However, when I use CTRL-N, the new browser window is Qwant, not Firefox, not DuckDuckGo.

I check that Firefox is my default browser and the laptop checks every boot-up that it is the default browser.

Can you help? I know there's a line of code somewhere but don't want to do more than I have -- endlessly search the settings, checking that there is nowhere that allows Qwant to load, let alone preferentially loads it.

So I reformatted my computer today, but the process allowed me to keep all my personal files. I had made a backup in my appdata for all my passwords and bookmarks like Firefox allows when you're in Manage Passwords or Manage Bookmarks. After the formatting, I sign into my Firefox account, and it Syncs almost immediately. When I go into my appdata, the profile has been overwritten by the new sync, meaning all my passwords and bookmarks are now no longer available. Is there legitimately anything I can do??

This is a recent problem. Before I have opened Firefox, it sometimes opens with MSN as the home page. URL www.msn.com/en-xi?ocid=wispr&pc=u477 Homepage is set to www.startpage.com Computer HPZ2, windows 10. Security Norton; Malware bytes.

I am worried that my PC may have been hacked. Security scans don't show anything.

I don't ever want MSN: is it possible to fix the problem by blocking MSN; if so, how?

I'm running Windows 11 and the latest version of Firefox. In settings, we are presented with two options when opening a new tab: customizable Firefox home page (with a Google search field) or blank page. Neither is acceptable. I want my default home page to appear when opening a new tab. How do I achieve that? Why is this simple option apparently not available?

I maintain the website for a small dog club and use Wordpress with plug-ins to provide page flipping through pdf files in a members only area of the site. The plug-in is D-flip. I have attached .jpg files made using the Fireshot extension both FF and Chrome browsers. I also saved the page as an .htm format file which when displayed does not appear the same as the original page.

when i try to use my banking app the payment section shows page not found. bank chat person said it was extensions in my browser. i downloaded firefox , i guess it has extensions too. can i disable the extension or extensions that cause this and which ones do this

I have the problem that every of my most visited sites are loading normal fast except for YouTube.

YouTube needs about 2 to 3 seconds to load the site itself and the thumbnails like "lagging" pictures which are rendering real slow while my other most visited sites like Twitch, Reddit or Twitter are loading in about 1 second or less. (i have installed the "Page Load Time" addon to check that).

I have only installed uBlock and nothing else.

I migrated to Win10, installing Firefox and restoring bookmarks from a json file. I subsequently spent some days reorganizing and editing the bookmarks but inadvertently deleted a large subfolder from these. Of the number of options to get that back I see there are 10 or so recent bookmark backups I can try restoring from. The folder I want exists in one of those, but I will also have lost many recent edits. Is there perhaps a way to view both bookmark trees side-by-side, or a way to restore bookmarks selectively or to a different location than the bookmark root?

(I know I can back up what I have now, restore an older version, manually copy out the missing folder, restore my new version and reinsert the lost data, but hoping for less work)

If I open a normal firefox window then run "firefox.exe -private-window mozilla.org google.com" it will open mozilla.org in a new private browser window and google.com in the existing standard browsing window. I have tried every combination of -private, -private-window, and -url that I can think of, but to no success.

I am happy to write a fix for this if you can confirm the defect and provide a bug number :)

I can play movies on DVD and Blu Ray discs on my computer just fine. And, if I host an online meeting using Zoom or Free Conference Calls, participants in the meeting can watch the movie. I do this by playing the movie locally with a media player, and sharing my desktop. However, when I try to watch a movie in an online meeting, participants just see a black window. Do you know the reason?

I'm using Windows 10, Firefox 118.0.2.

When I go to google search on Firefox and search for something in images, every result loads instantly. When I go to duck duck go in firefox, there is randomly huge communication lag time between pressing enter and a result populating (usually more than 30seconds-2min where normally it is instant) and a good majority of the image thumbnail results do not display. It didn't used to do this and I think something screwed something up on my computer. What can cause this?

Things I have tried: Resetting Firefox Deleting and Reinstalling Firefox Deleting all cache/cookies/Mozilla files in %appdata, program files, and other locations and reinstalling.

I prefer to use DDG over Google. Can someone help? Why is it doing this?
