So, I just now installed Firefox and now I want to change the background of the home page (new tab), the same way you would do in chrome. I did some research and created a chrome folder and a chromeContent.css file in there.

I tried first the code in this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1271362 and then this one: https://superuser.com/questions/1495946/how-do-i-change-the-background-image-of-home-page-in-firefox

neither of those worked, even though I'm pretty sure I followed all of the instructions correctly. help please, will be greatly appreciated (i don't know if i chose the correct topic)

pictures included in order: the code (device name crossed out), inside the chrome folder, inside the profiles folder

/edit: moved thread from Firefox for iOS (for iPhone/iPad) to Firefox section as you have macOS.

I just noticed this today when my browser updated to 136.0.1 (64-bit).

In the Picture attached you can see the tab width changing when playing any audio that brings up whatever that audio symbol is officially called. This also happens when you mute a tab. When unmuting a tab or stopping audio the tab goes back to the regular size.

Is there any setting in the about:config that could stop the resizing of the tab or any setting at all to not have this happen?

Additional info: I have set browser.tabs.tabMinWidth to 140 in about:config. This setting has been this way for years and those tabs with the audio never resized until today.

Good afternoon. Yesterday I updated the Mozilla version from 135.0.1 to 136.0 and now the Firefox logo has appeared on the main screen (where the shortcuts are), thus reducing the size of the shortcuts and creating the inconvenience of having to scroll with the mouse, because before that everything fit nicely. Please remove the logo from the Firefox home page. Or tell me how I can return to version 135.01 without losing my data. This is very inconvenient, so much so that I decided to write to you for the first time.

I have 2 computers, both with Linux Ubuntu. All of a sudden one of them is missing the File toolbar. It was there this AM but gone now. I looked through the menu and couldn't find where it is that you add the toolbar. On this computer, which has that toolbar, you go to 'view" and there is an item for toolbar. But on the other there are none of those menus and I can't find where to add that toolbar.

Hello there! I recently updated Firefox to 137.0.1. But the update doesn't automatically display the status bar when you hover over the bottom of the page. I had to resize Firefox to make it full screen to display the status bar properly. This makes it difficult for me to use Firefox. I'm pretty sure this is due to a version update. This problem occurred after I updated the Firefox browser, during which time my Windows system was not updated. Is there any solution? Or how can I download a previous version of the browser?

Is there a working way to move tabs to bottom currently?

This was working until the latest Firefox update and I do not specifically remember how I had changed it last time but I believe it was via the about:config settings page but I no longer see such an option there. I tried achieving this via 3rd party plugins/extensions for Firefox but not a single one worked for the current version of Firefox. I even tried using the UserChrome.css file, as I found an article about this in the forum but it did not work either.

In the attached screenshot I have shown what I have currently and what I used to have and wish to set again if possible.

Hi. I'm still new to Firefox and don't really know the settings very well. I recently switched over to using it and realized that when I use most drop down boxes the background of the drop down menu is black, but the text is white and the selection box (when you hover over the item) is also white. Making whatever I'm hovering over very hard to see. I'm wondering if I have a strange setting turned on or not?

Settings wise I have Firefox set to dark mode, not the auto. But when I use the auto it still happens. Trying it in safe mode it still happens. Iv tried to research this a little myself. And read something about the proton setting and turning that from true to false. But this also did not work.

Is there any way to fix this? I just need the text to be a different color or the selection box (when you hover over it) to be a different color.

Attached are two screenshots of what I'm seeing

Hi!

Is it possible to hide the address bar entirely when entering full screen. When I use Safari I have the option to hide everything except the page i am looking at, this makes reading manga really nice and distraction free.

Obviously I'd prefer to use Firefox so I was wondering if this is possible in settings or is a planned feature in the future.

Thank you for your help.

After tinkering with about:config (shouldn't have...) the background of every page that does not specify a body background color turns the color of my theme background color.

Using the firefox color pipette says its white, but it clearly isn't.

The theme i have is dark, making any page that expects the background to be white unreadable (without DevTools -> Body -> background-color: white)

I haven't been able to find the config that fixes it.

So that when I click on the sound icon, the tab is switched to instead of mute?

Hello Since few weeks (maybe on firefox 132 already, but surely on firefox 133) I observe issue with my firefox UI. While grabbing and holding tab (to change its position, move it on bar), whole tab bar gets thinner which realigns my whole UI. Issue is probably caused by my custom userchrome.css but I need it in current or similar form. Maybe there is some css specialist who can help me remove unnecessary parts of code?

My css is as follows:

.tab-background{ border-radius: 0px 0px !important; margin-bottom: 0px !important; } .tabbrowser-tab:not([selected=true]):not([multiselected=true]) .tab-background{ background-color: color-mix(in srgb, currentColor 4%, transparent); } menupopup > menu, menupopup > menuitem{ padding-block: 3px !important; min-height: 0px !important; }

root{

--arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 2px !important; }
