I have an iMac with Sonoma 14.3.1 with Firefox 115.9.1 esr . It is for personal use, not for a business. I just learned that there is another Firefox version (124.0.2) which is not esr....

Which version should I use and why?

If I should use the "normal" version, how do I replace the esr version with the "normal" one ?

After just turning on my computer running Windows 10, I opened Firefox. I open 1 web site and noticed my computer showed a (16) prefix when loading Firefox. I opened the Task Manager and it showed that there were 15 instances of "firefox" running in the background. All showed a UAC Virtulization of "Disabled". But they also showed using 638.8MB of memory. I do not know whether these are necessary files that must run in the background or if the number of files indicates that my system has been hacked and someone else is in my system from outside. Any suggestions as to validity of these files running or how I might confirm that they should be running. I have noticed the number of excessive background files before but the number is never consistent which makes me fear I may have been hacked.

something apparently got corrupted in firefox.. i tried running update and i keep getting failed to update.. i have refreshed.. i have uninstalled and reinstalled ...nothing. i am sure there is a folder or file somewhere that is corrupted and i cannnot find it. because even when i uninstall and reinstall fresh. all my bookmarks are there .. how to i start a TRUE NEW install??

I'm testing different Debian 12 on multiple VMs, it came to my surprise to see that my VPN hash I used on a website the day before was saved by Firefox on the new VM.

The Sync was on but then which one saved my form (hash)?

1. Numbered list item Logins & Passwords ? note: The hash was not a login but a form. If Firefox saves all the form, you should explicitly rename Logins by any forms/inputs.
2. Numbered list item History? note: I hope this is only URLs.

If Firefox is savings "forms" (input fields) not just "logins" then it should be explicitly written. Is it an expected behavior?

I am using the apt version of firefox v125.0.2 (64-bit). I do not have a dedicated GPU - I use my intel core's internal gpu only Intel Corporation HD Graphics 620 (rev 02).

I used to play this game named narrow.one, which before I reinstalled the mentioned libraries, was working fine except for crashing a few times. I thought these libraries were causing some issue, so I tried reinstalling them.

I reinstalled the libraries using: `sudo apt install --reinstall --fix-missing libgl1* libegl*`

After installation, I start getting that error. So, I tried reinstalling firefox (using the same command), and then restarting the laptop - but of no use. Chrome seems to be running WebGL, including the game.

In firefox, on the https://get.webgl.org/ page, I see Hmm. While your browser seems to support WebGL, it is disabled or unavailable. If possible, please ensure that you are running the latest drivers for your video card.

After that, I also tried reinstalling `libopengl0` and `libglu1-mesa` and `intel-microcode`, but of no use. Running although, `sudo intel_gpu_top` and then chrome, it seems that the GPU is in use by chrome as well.

I then go to about:support. It shows me the images I have attached. Reading the logs, there several `blocklisted` values in `Decision Log` section. I suspect that's the cause of this issue, but then I don't know how can I un-blocklist the blocklisted things, and even after that, why does Chrome runs webgl if these are blocklisted?

I do not know much about OpenGL, but reading the above stuff, I suppose my GPU is in use and also has a compatible driver (although I am not sure).

Also, running `glxdemo`, `glxheads`, and `glxgears` seems to be rendering stuff.

Should I reinstall firefox after purging it first? Please help.

This has been happening for months now, on multiple devices (I have tried at least 3 different devices), and on multiple networks.

I have read the articles in here, but they just want me to check network configuration which is exactly the same for all browsers.

If I restart firefox it starts working again.

How can I prevent it from breaking randomly? This is the only browser having issues, I'm almost positive is some bug and not a configuration thing, given that it happens under multiple circumstances and devices, while Edge and Chrome simply keep working just fine.

There is no consistent repro I can give, afaik it is just random, at some point Firefox just decides to stop working and I have to restart it. This disrupts my work and browsing activities as I can lose progress on input forms and similar actions.

I have to put my face within inches of the screen and strain to see the text in Firefox browser menus, tabs, and search bars. How do I adjust the font size?

With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. We have used Firefox for access to certain sites for years. Recently, we wanted access to particular sites, but the info boxes needed would now not allow entries. Then, we went to Chrome and there was no problem entering the info. Please provide a response to resolve these issues of Firefox not allowing data entry, but Chrome allowing data entry for the same sites.

Canvas is working on all other browsers normally, but when I try to login on firefox an error 403 message shows up at the two factor authentification step. I allowed popups already in this browser so that is not the issue.

I have an issue where I go to website and I get a message that the website is temporarily available. I cannot go to a different webpage for what URL I want. I believe this has to do with history. I suspect I can get past this by flushing the history. I can get to the website I want by using a different browser such as chrome. Ho do I fix this?

IBM clone using windows 10, firefox 125

I am writing to report an issue I have encountered while using the Firefox browser. Specifically, I am unable to take screenshots on the website https://hescoebill.pk/hesco-mis/. This issue persists despite numerous attempts, and it seems to be unique to this particular website. Is there any other way to take screenshot of site? I really want to take a screenshot for personal reason. Is it not allowed from the site owner side or what?

Had to replace FF with Chrome in order to play DRM content on my W11 laptop. I get message saying you are downloading remedy, but nothing ever changes. Would prefer to continue 15+ year relationship with FF, but seems like youre abandoning capabilities for DRM video content?

I've had an ongoing issue with Firefox now for several months since upgrading to windows 11. When I try to copy text, or images, url's or anything really that is supposed to go to the clipboard, it copies a blank text with no data instead. I can copy text and images from other programs and even paste them into text fields on Firefox but I can't copy from Firefox to anything else and it's frustrating.

I recently got forced into upgrading Outlook in windows and hated it so I started using Thunderbird and surprisingly, I have the exact same issue there as well.

Hi so am using version 125.0.1 and on my windows 10 machine I can add custom Search Shortcuts (the Add button is present) but on my windows 11 machine, the same settings page the Add button is dissapeared... Is it a limitation for Windows 11 machines?

I have encountered a recurring issue specifically with Firefox where SVG images fail to display unless a pixel-defined height attribute is explicitly set. This behavior contrasts with other browsers, which handle SVG scaling seamlessly, typically adapting to the specified width or inheriting dimensions from parent elements.

During our website development, primarily through Elementor and leveraging Flexbox in a WordPress environment, this discrepancy becomes evident. The issue persists exclusively in Firefox, confirmed through extensive testing across various browsers and OS's with multiple SVG files and sites.

For diagnostic purposes, I recommend conducting controlled tests with SVG images embedded with our current setup. Set the SVGs to 100% width without defining their height and observe how they render in Firefox compared to other browsers. This should help ascertain whether the behavior in Firefox is anomalous.

I am assuming it may be with the way the markup of the SVG is rendered as it doesn't happen with all SVGs, however, other browsers appear to fix or override whatever is getting in the way from rendering...it is a strange issue.

I have included two images as an example. As you can see in the first image, the SVG isn't rendering (in Firefox) , but does render in Chrome/Safari. It only works when I define a height in px value on Firefox.

Please let me know if further information is required or if any specific steps need to be undertaken to address this issue.

Every once in a while, maybe once or twice a week, I'll press Ctrl+L to highlight the address bar, type a URL for a new website, and press enter, and instead of going to that new website Firefox just reloads the current page. It seems that this happens exclusively when the current website is gmail.com. (I might be wrong) I can't remember it happening on any other website. This problem has been occurring for me for the past year at least. Any recommendations?
