To export my bookmarks => Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Export Bookmarks => results in bookmarks.HTML.

Unfortunately that HTML does not include the "folders" in the bookmarks. For example I keep the forum folders (C# Corner folder, Mozilla folder, Microsoft Office folder, etc.) separate from other folders.

How do I a bookmark export that includes folders?

I reinstalled windows yesterday. When I installed firefox and signed it, everything was fine. However, this morning, it seems to have removed 80% of my bookmarks. When I try to restore from the bookmarks yesterday, it just gives me the ones that I have this morning. I had tons and tons of resource bookmarks for my work that would be almost impossible to re-find in some cases due to the current state of search engines. Is there any way to salvage them? It seems like sync believes they never existed, but it DID sync them yesterday??? Please help.

When you add a new bookmark to a folder it's added at the end of the existing list.

Is there a way to make Firefox add it at the top of the list, instead?

I found an old answer, but, sadly, the extension granting my wish is no longer.

Also, I already know about sorting, but it's not what I need, because I'm doing a lot of manual bookmarks reordering and sorting will nullify it.

I have a Mac desktop, a laptop with Windows 11, and an Android phone. I have about 120 bookmarks saved. On my Mac, they periodically backup fine and I can restore them if anything goes wonky. My phone and Windows laptop both show all the same bookmarks as the Mac. However, if I go to Manage Bookmarks to restore them on the Windows laptop, it shows many backups have occurred but only 5 bookmarks have been backed up. I have signed out of Firefox on all devices and signed back in. The Windows laptop did one correct backup showing the 120 or so bookmarks, and then every subsequent backup shows only 5 again. After a few weeks, the "correct" backup has been overwritten and is gone.

Anybody know what I can check to make the Windows laptop backup my bookmarks correctly?

Several years I logged into an extended family member's computer, accidentally sync from another browser and now this folder has been following me around. The thing is it's full of some really gross things. Mostly extreme right opinion pieces and just so much porn. I really want this folder to go away, but when I right click it the delete option is grayed out. I've tried deleting them one by one, but everything I close the window and reopen it again, all of the links are back. How do I purge this from my mozilla account?

Hi, my bookmarks toolbar doesn’t show when I launch Firefox. They always use to. When I click on View>Toolbar>Bookmarks Toolbar>Always Show - the Bar shows. When I click on any bookmark the bar disappears. If (in new window) I click on View>Toolbar>Bookmarks Toolbar>Always Show - the bar appears, when I then open new tab it does not show on new tab and when I click back to previous tab bookmarks are gone.

I have restarted W10 PC, no change.

All of a sudden I need to click the bookmark this page star twice to get the drop down menu. I've cleared the cache, stopped hardware acceleration, & disabled addons in trouble shoot mode. No joy.

I have multiple Bookmark folders. I want to export (and then import) just ONE of the folders to another computer.

When I go through the EXPORT BOOKMARKS TO HTML process the html document created contains ALL 18 FOLDERS even though at the time of creating the document, at the bottom of the export menu page in the "NAME" slot it showed just the name of the folder I wanted to export.

As far as I know there is no way to edit the html document to delete the unwanted folders. If there is, please share the information.

I had to restore Windows to its initial settings. I lost all my programs because of this, including Firefox. I reinstalled the browser, logged in to my account (which is synchronized), but instead of recovering all my bookmarks I got nothing. Empty bookmark box. What's worse, they were initially available on the mobile device, but they were also deleted there (both from the browser and from the smartphone). Firefox restored history, add-ons, but not bookmarks. Is there any way to recover these bookmarks?

I inserted a pic of my problem. I want to save a twitter bookmark in my twitter folder in the toolbar but it comes up with TWO different folders! When I save to one it shows up in the toolbar folder, if I choose the other it does not and I have no idea where it goes. How do I remove the second twitter location?

Can someone help me find my old bookmarks that I have had for years? I followed directions posted but nothing is working. All of my history was cleared also. The toolbar folders are there but everything is empty

I'm trying to load a jsonlz4 backup of 88.4 mb with 1 146 851 items. When creating a new places.sqlite, the majority of the bookmarks inside Other Bookmarks don't have a location url. Like this:

Name_____________| Location

Normal bookmark | site.com My problem_______|

I tried using https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/bookbackreader.html to convert it into html and json. Importing the html into firefox puts everything into the Bookmarks Menu and everything is missing their location url. Opening the html in writer I see that every bookmark does have its location url but as hyperlinks on the names. Restoring the json, 1 time after not clicking the Check/Repair JSON button and another time after clicking it, gives me all the bookmarks in their correct place but the majority are still missing their location urls.

I also tried creating another places.sqlite with my jsonlz4 backup and exporting as html and json through the bookmarks Library. Importing them, separately, into new firefox profiles just gives me the bookmarks that weren't missing links.

Also tried creating a places.sqlite in windows but it stopped before the Other Bookmarks folder, I guess.

I don't know if its relevant but between restarts and shutdows I always have 18 kmozillahelper processes before even starting firefox. I don't know since when they haven been there or if they have increased.

Any ideas on how to restore correcly my bookmarks?

i searched for how to bookmark an entire window. google gave me: https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/94180 as well as https://support.mozilla.org/eu/questions/1144799 there are probaby many others.

1. both are archived. 2. both are obsolete. Unless I am doing something wrong, in the BOOKMARKS menu there no longer exists "BOOKMARK ALL TABS"

So, why, when an article is archived is it not marked as to what versions of FF it applies? another way to think of this: Why archive a question that WILL ALWAYS BE A RELEVANT QUESTION?

and what is worse: why does searching for "bookmark all tabs" come up empty searching FF help?

Another way: Stop changing FF so much !!!! It is a pain the you-know-what.

And, why does searching for "BOOKMARK ALL TABS" in FF doc come up empty? No wonder the same questions are asked over and over again.

Hello, I use the Manage Bookmarks / Library function a lot. However, it drives me crazy that the library always opens at the folder: Other Bookmarks/BSP2 trash folder . . . DO NOT REMOVE! I then have to navigate up to find the folder I need. This gets really tedious after a while.

Is there a way to get the library to open at another folder, preferably the most recent folder?

Is there a way to delete a bookmark from the book-mark drop-down window (accessed from triple horizontal bar/right side of browser) but retain the same book-mark that had been saved in a folder created in Other Bookmarks? I discovered that when you delete a book-mark entry from drop down menu, the same entry is also deleted from its saved location in Other Book Marks. I was trying to reduce number of unsorted entries in drop down menu while saving (and retaining) the same link in the Other Bookmarks section and folder. I want to continue using the sorting and discrete folder saving possible with the Other Bookmark section but clean up the clutter in the unsorted bookmark section.

Hello; My bookmarks disappeared from the left side of my Firefox. I have tried all the suggestions on the web but none work. How do I get my bookmarks back on the left side of FireFox? Thanks! Vik

Took me a long time to nail this issue down. Recently (past 1-2 years?), Firefox has started suggesting the base website when you have bookmarks that include the base domain - and it's really bothersome from a UX perspective. E.g. if i have "adobe.com/express" or any other adobe bookmarks, the FIRST autocompleted url Firefox gives me is "adobe.com" which I DO NOT have as a bookmark. In my Firefox settings I also have Shortcuts and other search suggestions disabled.

Why is Firefox doing this?

I have a list of clickable bookmarks that normally displays in the left side panel. It's currently missing. If I click on 'Other bookmarks' it appears to the right but is not pinned and doesn't seem pinnable. How do I get it back to displaying in the left side panel all the time as before? Clicking on 'Bookmarks Toolbar' or 'Bookmarks Menu' doesn't bring it up. I don't see any other options in the side panel nor do I see anything relevant under 'Bookmarks' in the top ribbon menu......? Laptop crashed. Motherboard pbm. I pulled the hard drive and installed it in the new laptop. Old drive has current copy of Firefox. But I never created a backup file for the bookmarks. Is there any way to recover the bookmarks from the previous Firefox? I have the complete Firefox on that disc. It ran last week. I can't find any bookmark files.

I've gone through all the bookmark importing help topics. Nothing works.

I had to rebuild my Windows 10 laptop from scratch. I downloaded and installed Firefox, and I can browse and download, but my bookmarks aren't available--some other app is using a Firefox file. I've rebooted several times and even shut down and restarted from square one, and I still get the error message. I've tried to look at the troubleshooting data, but none of it is filled in--only the headings appear. I can't even restore from an HTML backup. How do I get the bookmarks back?
