Good morning. My Firefox appears to have updated overnight and now my menu bar is a light grey colour instead of it's original black. I want to reset the menu bar colour to black because I now have no contrast between it and my tabs. I have searched the help articles but none of them tells me how to do this. I am directed down the path: settings> extensions and themes> manage your themes.

Unfortunately I can see no way to 'manage' this theme. I would mention that I am a native English speaker but any so called 'discussion' of this issue uses what I call 'geek-speak' which is unintelligible to a non IT professional.

I would be most grateful for someone to explain to me in simple terms (ie keystroke by keystroke) how to re-set my menu bar colour to black, whilst noting that the text for (file, edit,view etc) needs to then be white rather than the pale grey which it has become.

As an after thought, does anyone know which developer it is that thinks it a good idea to mess with my original view settings during an update. It is NOT helpful and, quite frankly, really annoying.

The last Firefox updates have suddenly created havoc. None, absolutely none of the websites that I frequently visit will have my login information saved even though when I view logins in the settings mode, they are all listed there with the correct passwords. I am not technical and would sincerely appreciate a tutorial of some kind as to how to correct this egregious oversite on behalf of the Mozilla team.

Dear Community, after one of recent Firefox updates I experience an issue with text display on certain pages. Some text is not visible because it is white on white background. The text is there, I can highlight it. I am using latest Firefox release as suggested by auto update. This white on white issue is regardless of selected Theme, even in dark theme it is white on white. Please have a look at the attached screenshots.

The latest version has been loaded onto my PC. The list of bookmarks, in the drop down menu, has increased in the spacing between the lines. Now my bookmarks list goes off the bottom of the screen, whereas before my bookmarks were all visible. Is there a simple way of reducing the gap between the lines, the font size is OK.

Hi for a while now, few months Firefox crash like crazy on my PC

Sometimes it would just crash at start, and refused to open Sometimes tab start crashing, and eventually firefox crashes

Common sites where i see the crash happens are cnn.com and nba.com

I usually restart my PC , refresh firefox or reinstall it to get rid of the crashes but this is very tiring , very tiring

I am sure its something on my PC that causing the conflict, because even reinstalling doesnt entirely fix it

But i have no clue what it could be

Sorry to rub salt into old wounds but this quote from a 2014 support post expresses my feelings exactly:

"What's the point of a 'tab' if there's no tab? Text floating around at the top of the page is not a tab."

My Sessions and Session Boss know I have all my tabs open presently. I can't see the tabs & I can't right click a bookmark and see a 2nd tab open. I had the tabs at the top and just under the bookmarks bar. Now it is just one long blank bar. I disabled and then re-enabled proton, which is the worst upgrade experience ever. I changed to a simple theme, still no tabs. I downloaded the previous version 88, but it will start a new profile. I just want where I was 2 hours ago. I'll attach an image of the left upper screen with the blank tab bar.

When it comes to the websites I built, they look the way that are supposed to but in firefox in looks screwed up and that makes me look bad. What can be done to fix this issue?

First time I can say I HATE WHAT YOU DID. WHY????????????? is there NO option to use old browser settings and look? I have spent a whole day 'fixing' trying to fix the mess you made. I am visually impaired and all my settings are POOH GONE!!!! Who's idea is it to put this grey text on white background? Must be nice to have good eyes.

  PLEASE GIVE US UNDO option to go back.  So NOT up to your standards...must have hired the 5th graders to do the work.  MOST UPSET, NOT HAPPY AND VERY FRUSTRATED.
  And don't tell me to "look" at the ways to Fix it...I have.  Don't understand it as I'm not a 5th grader I'm in my 70's.

So I've noticed recently that Firefox, or rather more specifically, Noscript, seems to think a lot of things are XSS attempts, which had never been the case before, leading me to think these are false positives. I've had no luck in undoing anything that was blocked, as mentioned in another thread. I'm trying to figure out if resetting Firefox would be a good idea. My problem is that one of my extensions is directly tied to my antivirus program, so my question is basically this; would the extension be able to be turned back on as is, or would I have to reinstall the antivirus program to get it back? I've never seen it come up in a basic search for add-ons without it. So it sounds like I'd have to reinstall it. Can anyone confirm this? If so, I'll have to wait a day or two to get this reset done.

Alternatively, I'm debating just deleting the current cookies and the like from the browser. Would this be a better alternative to a full on refresh/reset of Firefox?

My top sites have disappeared and/or changed to sites not visited very much. And there is now no Top Sites box to check in Preferences.

This means that when I click the URL box, it used to drop down with 5 or 6 of the sites I visited the most. Those are gone and replaced with sites I don't visit very much.

Please help!

Hi! Some days ago I started experiencing problems to load Google service webpages. For example sometimes youtube tells that there is a connection problem, when loading gmail I get " has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired". When I use other browser I can access to that services with no problem. I am in linux, and I have tried disabling all the add-ons, starting in "safe-mode" and rebooting my computer. At the beginning everything works fine, but after some time starts failing. I have tried with different Firefox versions, and the problems persists.

I'm out of tricks here. Last night I updated Windows on my desktop (Windows 10) and after several hiccups and restarts the computer is operating correctly...except for Firefox. The browser window opens normally but clicking on any bookmark or typing a web addy manually does nothing...it just stays blank. When using a bookmark, no address propagates to the address bar. In an effort to fix this I have done Firefox refresh (a few times now), run Firefox in troubleshoot mode (a few times and at least once this caused Firefox to crash), uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox (twice, second time WITHOUT saving prior account settings), restarted computer and uninstalled adblocker.

Absolutely NO change from any of this. My laptop (Apple with Firefox) works fine and the desktop WILL browse just fine on MS Edge, so this is not a connectivity problem. Any ideas on fixing this would be greatly appreciated. TIA

This new update is so ugly I'd rather be vulnerable to all of the security fixes that were just patched than use Firefox 89.0.

Also your feedback page is down, which is unfortunate because I'd love to give some.

First of all: I tried to "give feedback" first, by going to that crowdicity website. I had to create an account, then I created an "idea" but it wasn't even allowed by the mods.

The 89 design is not user friendly, it takes away too much of my screen. I want to see the website, not some bloated tabs. And what on earth is meant by unsupported in the customize menu when I try to select compact? I always recommendet Firefox, among my friends and family as well as among my customers. Since day 1 I was with you, but this is just the absolute opposite of user friendliness. Even Microsoft Edge shows more of the actual website, I'm trying to look at. No "unsupported" compact mode needed, it is already even less obstrusive than that.

There were so many users who begged you not to do this. But you didn't listen. I want to be nice and kind but you gotta listen to your users, not just rely on your telemetry data. If someone chooses to install Firefox, a lot of people have the ability and knowledge to turn off that stuff. Those are your most loyal users. Listen to them.

Is there a way to manage the order of the "bars", mine recently changed to Menu bar at top, then tabs, then address bar, then bookmarks. I would like to switch up the tabs and address, reverse the order.
