What does this mean? being updated by another instance

Is this why my FF is running godawful slow today?

Pages coming up in 20 to 60 seconds or more instead of in a second or two.

I'm using version 135.0.1 (64-bit) on Win11. The latest version on the site is 136.0, but no notification is given, and Help/About doesn't do it or offer the option. I've browsed the web page that discusses an "Update Firefox" section in Settings/General, but no such section exists. Anyone knows what happened??? Tnx, Nir

I have windows 10 installed on my computer but firefox thinks its windows 8 and I dont get the 136 update, Im stuck at 115esr. many of my account websites are unavailable. What can I do? any help would be appreciated.

For the past few weeks (or more) Firefox will not start up in one of my Mac user profiles. Please find attached a screenshot of the dialog it shows when I try to start it up.

I forget what happened, but I think it has to do with an update to macOS and (perhaps) not agreeing to all security measures that Firefox asked for…

For now, I’m working in DuckDuckGo in this user profile, but I thought I’d ask in case anybody can save me the research time to figure this out on my own.

I was informed that I need to update Firefox. (Currently running Version 120.0.1 (64-bit) Linux (Fedora). I downloaded firefox-136.0.tar.xz but it is not auto installing. I checked the Settings -> General -> Firefox Updates section, but it is grayed out. I do not have the ability to Check for Updates, or change the auto update options.

How do I install the update?

I try to update Firefox once a month, but every 6 hours I am notified about the release of a new version, so I have to click Cancel. Is it possible to increase this interval (at least to 24 hours) or disable it altogether?

I tried changing settings "app.update.interval" and "app.update.background.interval" but it didn't help.

I just installed Linux Mint. I am new to Linux. Firefox came with it. In the Firefox help/about, I see that updates have been disabled by your organization. I am just a single user. There should bot be any enterprise policy applicable. Why did I get this and how to get rid of it?

Every now and then Firefox asks to to shut down the program and reopen it. But when I do that I lose all the open tabs I had before. I also tried the new container tab system but it doesn't work

Hi, firefox deleted my history after an update. The only browsing history i have left is yesterday and today since after the update. My bookmarks and the session i was in were still there.

I only have one profile. i dont have a index.dat file unter C:\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. Any data recovery tools cannot find one either. about:cache only shows me the history after the update.

I dont know what to do and now i've lost my history of the last about 8 years. Does anyone have an idea?
