I have clear search history when browser is closed checked, and it still has a months worth of history and I have closed and reopened the browser countless times, why doesn't the history clear?

I can't delete history. I know how to do it (ie menu, click "clear recent history" etc etc) but it just doesn't do it. I've uninstalled Firefox and taken the option to "refresh" instead of reinstall. Didn't work. Uninstalled it again. In the reinstallation I asked that it NOT import my settings etc but it did it anyway. Back came Firefox, complete with my history! I just can't get a fresh start. With regret, I'm starting to use a different browser. I dislike doing that but at present I have no choice. Whenever I use Firefox, I just clutter up the place and can't get rid of history.

Since last update (early mid Dec) browser history is not been deleted properly on clicking delete history. Recently opened tabs remain in history even after 3 to 5 requests to delete. The problem is the same on opening private purple tabs. Transfers history to normal tab history. Phone Samsung S21 Regards Rich

I have followed the instructions on the Mozilla website but am unable to delete my browsing history. I recently had a power outage and had to have my pc data reinstalled by a computer specialist. would reinstalling Firefox sort my problem?

Despite following the instructions ,I am unable to clear my browsing history. Every time I click on to "clear history," nothing happens. I am afraid to re-install the browser because my wife also has an account on the same PC and I do not want to delete here bookmarks etc.

Ive had Firefox for many years, and am pretty ok versed in it's options and tools. Since a couple weeks my history is completely gone. It also won't record anything new. Im not in safe mode, not incognito mode, all the settings appear correct, yet still, won't record anything. Please help

I noticed that in the last few months (maybe longer) the windows which were open before Firefox was shut down no longer open up in the same order after Firefox is restarted and 'History > Restore previous session' is selected (I want me to decide whether windows and tabs are re-opened after a Firefox restart, so I don't know if the same problem happens when the setting "Open previous windows and tabs" is selected).

This has been a problem a long(er) time ago, then it worked fine again, and now it happens again.

This might not seam like a big problem but I open new Firefox windows for each 'topic' I want to browse plus the first couple of windows are 'dedicated' to specific things.

But when the windows are 'out of the correct order' I can't just find things the (for me) usual place or windows opened for specific topics- and that is quite annoying. That is the background for this post.

I'm using Windows 11 version 25H2, and my Firefox is up to date (147.0.2)

I hope there are some Mozilla employees working with Firefox in this community (as they have the most 'inside knowledge', but I would of course very much also hear about experiences and ideas regarding this from other Firefox users :-)

I need to permanently save my browsing history, but I haven't found such a function in Firefox. Firefox regularly deletes my browsing history, which I really dislike. I need it to accurately and precisely save my browsing history without any omissions. I need a solution to this problem.

My firefox is not recalling the history as I move through tabs. It doesn't appear in the sidebar or in the documented history. This only has happened recently, and it's still recognizing my bookmarks. I've done some troubleshooting, tried relaunching in the mode while switching through tabs, but it's still not recalling. Any help is appreciated.

From time to time I can’t clear my Firefox history. I try from the menu, then within the settings, to no avail. I restarted Firebox and even my Mac, and the history remains. I used CleanMyMac to empty the cache and the history is still there.

My Firefox: 147.0.2 (64-bit) My Mac: Sonoma 14.8.3 (23J220)

my delete history has not been working since yesterday. I have not changed anything to my knowledge in settings so please help in correcting this. I have looked at settings and not sure if something changed or ?

I have not used private settings at all.
