I have a really niche case which there's probably no solution for but I want to ask just in case:

I'm happy with the behaviour of Firefox opening PDFs as it does currently except in one case: eBay shipping labels. When I buy a shipping label on eBay it presents two buttons: one is open and one is download. When I click download it both downloads and opens in a new tab. I can disable Firefox opening PDFs to stop that but then that affects my experience every time I try to open a PDF everywhere else.

Is there some way that I can stop Firefox from opening PDFs but only when they're opened from links that look like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/single/api/label-service/label/4049d9b7-5563-47e9-b181-6d0f50a6101e/download?printable=true&pageFormat=RAW&useImageFormat=false&attachment=true&consumer=LABELUI_SINGLE

I want to be able to open any links I choose in new tabs/windows, either with MMB or context menu. Many sites use JavaScript to thwart this - only allowing the link to open in the same tab. aboutconfig settings make no difference for these sites. Disabling JavaScript also fails as inevitably the offending website then won’t work at all. I have not been able to find an add-on which achieves my aim either.

It’s particularly annoying when there are a large number of links and I want to open all of them in new tabs. The only way I have found is to copy the URL of the offending page into a number of new tabs and then click the links in each tab.

The New Tab page includes some shortcuts by default, including Amazon Search (see "@amazon" in the attached picture), which I dismissed shortly after installation. (The only options are "Pin/Unpin" and "Dismiss".)

However, I want to create such shortcut for another search engine, like https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s&iax=images&ia=images and I don't see the option - even if I set the URL to include "%s" and the name of the pinned shortcut begins with "@", as with smart keyword search and the Amazon search shortcut, respectively.

I am an advanced user and don't mind manually editing files in my profile folder (after I back it up of course).

Edit: I found a reference to it in prefs.js in my profile but changing it using user.js only caused the user_pref to disappear with no effect on the tile items. user_pref("browser.newtabpage.pinned", "[null,null,null,null,{\"url\":\"https://www.amazon.com/\",\"label\":\"@amazon\",\"searchTopSite\":true},null]");

When I go into fullscreen on firefox macos, hovering near the top shows the traffic lights (fullscreen, minimize, close window buttons) and moves everything down. This may be expected behavior, but it is very annoying as when you try to open new tabs the tab bar moves out of the way of the traffic lights, and the traffic lights area is around the size of the tab bar. Is there any way to make the traffic lights always visible or keep them from moving?

Hello. Since a few years I was using 2 FF instances. Profile1 (default) triggered by "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" Profile2 triggered by "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox1.exe" -P Mike -no-remote -no-deelevate I could start profile 2, than profile 1 and corresponding icons on Windows 7 taskbar were lit.

Out of the blue today when I start profile2 shortcut icon from profile1 is lit and I can't start profile 1. When I start Profile1 I can run also Profile2 and corresponding icons on taskbar are lit.

There were no hardware nor software changes on that PC. How to get back possibility to run 2 instances of FF? Mike

I don't want to receive this because despite I use Firefox as a main browser, I do not want it to be a default browser. I have disabled option to ask me about this but Firefo asks me anyway. How to make this toolbar not to appear any more?

Please, how can I disable the tab title on hover? After they appear, they stay on the screen even if I switch windows and are extremely annoying. (Work on fedora, gnome)

The new 'search tabs' icon is incredibly annoying and distracting. So far, I've found no way to get rid of it or disable it. I already tried using the 'customize toolbar' action, but the icon would grey out and return to its position, so that was a bust. I've attached a picture of it below.

It is on the right upper corner of my Firefox window.

I am writing to inquire about the keyboard shortcut to display a PDF file in two-page view in Firefox. I have searched through the Firefox keyboard shortcuts documentation, but I have not been able to find this information.

I frequently view PDF files in Firefox, and I would find it very convenient to be able to switch to two-page view with a keyboard shortcut. This would save me time and effort from having to click on the two-page view button in the PDF viewer toolbar.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with the keyboard shortcut for two-page view in Firefox. If there is no such shortcut, I would also be interested to know if there is any way to create a custom keyboard shortcut for this task.

Hello. I recently moved from windows to Linux Mint, and noticed the behavior of the Picture in Picture window is different when resizing. On windows, the aspect ratio is kept. while on Linux, it is free form, making these black bars around the video, so I have to resize it very carefully to not show any black bars.

How can I make the PiP on Linux behave like on Windows? That means resizing keeping the aspect ratio.

When I try to print using the icon in gmail, the dialogs I get are as shown. First I tap to open the attachment, then a printer icon shows up, then another tab opens, and as seen in the last pic the only options I have in the dropdown or otherwise available are to open the file, not print it, even though I just clicked on the printer icon.

My settings in Windows 10 have the Epson printer set as default btw.

Before this Firefox update I had an add-on or extension or something where you could click on it and it would close all tabs, but save the links in another tab, by date. Unfortunately I don't remember what it was called.

Thought maybe 'pin' something, but that's basically unsearchable as there is something else called pins.

It was great, cause you could simply go to the tab and see all of the saved links, by date. It opened up every time Firefox started and I never had an issue. Saved HUNDREDS of links and now it's just gone! No history of it existing. How do I get it back??? This is terrible. Tons of work stuff saved there.

-Yes, I understand bookmarks and have plenty of those and they are still there. -Not related to Pinterest, just think it was called Pinned or Pin Something.

Hello, i need to enable and disable for privacy reasons, the setting "media.peerconnection.enabled" (aka WebRTC) via GUI to avoid to go everytime into about:config settings, search for the string, and double click it to disable or enable.

If is fleasible i prefer to add a custom icon in the customization tools bar windows, so i can drag it and move into the upper part of firefox freely (for example i would like to have it above url bar in the left corner, above the 3 lines application menù.

I have Windows 11 with high contrast mode enabled and I have tried all the settings, to check in registry, in the theme file itself (.theme) and in the settings of Fiferox. Could you please suggest what else can be done?

One site is hosted onto multiple domain names. One of this names is blocked by my ISP. But some links and forms are coded with absolute URLs using this blocked name instead of relative URLs.

I tried to use "Redirector" addon, but it ignores POST requests.

I'm a big fan of your browser! I also really enjoy using the Nimbus platform, but unfortunately their web clipper seems not to work with you like it does with other browsers.

It would be really nice, if the issue could be fixed! The Nimbus team seems to struggle finding out what the issue might be, so it would be very appreciated if there could be a solution you could tell them about. I would love to stay with Firefox, your browser is awesome!

The font that I want Firefox to use for rendering web pages is in my system (/usr/share/fonts/truetype/), but Firefox doesn't include it in the list of fonts that I can choose from. Other applications (System Settings, LibreOffice) can use the font that I want.

Where does Firefox look for the fonts that it offers for me to choose from?

This issue was discussed in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1354942, but the answer given was "The fonts are usually ordered in several section", which doesn't tell me where to put my font so that Firefox will see it.

I also think I remember seeing a comment somewhere that Firefox doesn't offer some of the fonts that it can see. How does it choose which fonts to offer? If I need to change my font so that Firefox will let me use it, I can do that with a font editor, but I need to know what the criteria are. Having glyphs for Basic Latin evidently isn't a requirement, see https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/avoid-problem-with-unsuitable-default-font/idi-p/37281.

After removing other elements, I'm left with a map, which I was able to expand to the top and sides, but not the bottom area.
