In the parameters, I chose to let Firefox ask me every time what to do with PDF files. But, when the window pop up and I click "Open with ... Firefox", the browser download and open with Firefox the PDF instead of only showing it in Firefox. When I set the "Open with firefox" by default in the parameters, Firefox will this time directly open the PDF in the browser instead of downloading it.

Are you aware of this bug ? Is there a solution ?

i recently lost my computer to destruction. i have a number of files saved by Mozilla backup on a thumbdrive. i have several backup files dating from 2014 all the way until now. after re-installing Firefox on a new computer, i tried MozBackup to restore my old Firefox from the latest file dated a coupla of months ago this year. the files have names like Firefox 16.0.2 (en-US) - 2013-01-05.pcv or .pfc. when i tryt and load it into backup it saysit isn't a valid backup file. how can i get this to work?

Currently I am using the Chrome browser and I am planning to switch to Firefox. I have a lot of bookmarks in my Chrome browser which some are quite important. I tried to manually save my bookmarks into the Firefox browser, however, the process is quite tedious. Is there an easier way to do this?

I am running Firefox within two accounts under Windows 11 on a PC desktop machine. In one account, the admin account in which I installed Firefox, I have this problem. In a second account, I do not.

I use the Bookmarks menu to "Bookmark Current Tab". The usual popup allowing me to select placement of the bookmark does not appear. If I try the operation again, I see "Edit this Bookmark", indicating that the bookmark was in fact stored somewhere, and then the popup appears (as I expected it to appear after the first click), allowing me to select where I want to put it.

This problem appears consistently. I have disabled graphics acceleration and restarted: the problem is still there. I have restarted in troubleshooting mode: the problem is still there. But the problem appears only in this one account on this particular machine. A laptop, similarly configured, does not show the problem at all.

I've always used the "Always ask you where to save files" option when downloading. Recently (beginning of April 2022), files go directly to the Downloads folder. The "Always ask" option is still selected in Settings.

I've tried un-selecting and re-selecting, restarting Firefox, restarting my computer - basically every iteration of 'turn it off and on again' that I can think of.

An error occurred during a connection to www.facebook.com. SSL_ERROR_DC_EXPIRED What in the world? does Facebook not keep up with its own security? or is this a Firefox thing?

I removed everything from the bookmarks menu that I don't need. Now there is a battery of separators left, consuming menu space. See attached screenshot of German Firefox version.

How to get rid of at least four of those five separators?

Also, it would be great to have all my bookmarks at the top of the menu, while all that stuff I rarely need (Show bookmark sidebar, More bookmarks, Bookmars symbol bar ...) is at the bottom. Is there an way to change that?

More and more I'm having to go to other browsers like Chrome or Edge to open certain websites as they do not work through the Firefox browser. Why is this and how can i get them to work before i change browsers permanently?

Hello. Since I use the bookmark bar and fullscreen mode a lot, I would like to be able to see the bookmark bar in fullscreen, not on every tab, but only in a new (empty) tab, so that I can avoid disabling fullscreen to access the bookmark bar and at the same time not having any part of the interface visible unless I'm in a new tab. Well, I guess I have to part from Mozilla. For a long while it was so good, but lately ...

Since the update that changed the cookie management, I have not been able to delete just my cache without losing all my cookies & login information. I'm no longer able to automatically sign into a bunch of my sites.

In order to more convenient drag-and-drop interface, I need a fixed fixed space in nav-bar like Edge. For now we can add a flexible space on it. But it's flexible and it will disappear when I use a side window. And I can't drag over titlebar-buttonbox-container Please help me. Thanks!

All commercial websites: Results of search within site show momentarily, then blank out. First noticed about 2 weeks ago. No problems using Chrome or Edge same websites. E.g. Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon Tried running with add-ons disabled: Same result HP laptop I7 PC running Windows 11, 64 bit.

I'm trying to restore my bookmarks from a .json backup file, but when I restore from it, all the bookmarks go into the Other Bookmarks folder. All the other folders are imported but are empty. I've tried the automatic backups and the same thing happens.

Obviously I don't want to have to drag and drop 2000 bookmarks back into their folders... how can I fix this?

when i pull up a log in page firefox always wants to fill in my log in name. i went to the settings page and firefox says that i have no saved log ins. how do i clear my log in name or stop firefox from trying to fill it in for me.

I cannot sync Firefox - it asks for a verification code but the VC arrived literally 2 hours later! When I plugged it in, of course it was invalid. Attempting to log in with newly installed Cinnamon Mint 20.3.
