I opened Firefox this morning and all of my pinned shortcuts have disappeared. Shortcuts are enabled in the settings. I checked the browser.newtabpage.pinned pref on the about:config and all of my pinned shortcuts are still there, but they're not appearing on the actual page itself. Are there any other settings that I'm not aware of?

I noticed recently that my 'Add Shortcut' button has disappeared. I've been through other articles and they were of no help. I have 4 rows selected for shortcuts so theres no reason for it to be gone.

I installed Firefox on a fresh Win 11 install, and most of the the favicons are still generic on the Home Page several days later. Facebook, Ebay and Youtube are the only ones that appear consistently, sometimes other will display, but then be gone again the next time the app is launched. All other links just have the generic letter icons.

I tried deleting the 3 favicon files in the Profiles folder, but it did nothing. I've tried manually re-adding the links, still nothing. I removed the "S" from "https;//" and still nothing. The favicons all show up on my other machines which use Firefox on the same user account, so it is not a problem with the websites themselves.

Not sure if its related, but upon installing Firefox on this machine, it made Firefox on my Mac desktop absolutely freak out. I had to make a significant number of changes over the course of hours to fix everything, so many relating to favicons alone that I don't know what actually fixed it.

What else can I do to try and get these working? Why does Firefox apparently struggle with this particular feature across multiple OSes?

One of the things I like most about Firefox is the home page with 'tiles' for my most used websites. Since the last upgrade some of my tiles have the website logos but most do not. Is there a way I can fix this?

hello - since yesterday, the links on the startpage don't show anymore, even though they were perfectly fine the day before yesterday, when I shut down the laptop.

i can't find where I could change anything, since in the settings, the 4 lines are still activated, nothing has changed except they're suddenly not showing anymore.... ?

what can I do???

I did try to search through the articles, didn't see anything that could help me.

I would even save them and open a new profile if there's no way to fix it, if only I could find where those links on the startpage are stored...

I am using Firefox Browser 145.0 and CCleaner Free version 7.1.1042.0. Either CCleaner wiped out the 4 rows of saved shortcuts, or, I have a unwanted Checked or unchecked Firefox setting. The home Firefox page is black, with no tiles showing, no way to add tiles as far as I can tell

Is their a way to reload the ones I had yesterday? Are they saved in configuration / about: Thanks for helping me. Dave Thompson

I have lost all the short cuts on my home page. As I use these very frequently, this is a big problem for me. I know this problem has been raised previously, but none of the solutions work for me.

I have checked the short cuts still exist in about:config...newtabs.pinned. They are still there. I've refreshed Firefox. I've loaded the latest version I've toggled the number of lines of short cuts in 'customise' I've enabled sponsored short cuts I can get recent activity slots, and curated stories. I do not want to set up a completely new profile as I have an extensive list of bookmarks.

Is there anything else I can do?

I am experiencing an issue with the shortcuts (Top Sites) on the New Tab page. Despite disabling the relevant options, unwanted websites are automatically appearing based on my browsing history.

I need to manually control and add all shortcuts myself, and I do not want Firefox to automatically suggest them.

I have set the following preferences to false and the issue persists:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.topstories

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.highlights

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsored

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsoredTopSites

I also tried setting the maximum number of Top Sites to 0 using:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites.limit (Assuming this is the correct preference for the limit, as the one you listed was repeated)

Could you please advise on what other preference might be causing the automatic generation of these shortcuts?"

Hi community The option to set, how many rows of shortcuts should be visible on the Firefox start screen, is a good idea. E.g. I set 3 rows and fill them with relevant shortcuts. The shortcuts in the bottom row always changes when I visit several websites. My understanding is: Setting the shortcuts as necessary and that's it! Wtf happens, that the last row changes all the time, that makes me fussy. regards wolf

Hi! So I just installed firefox and I got onto annoying issue. I like using shortcuts on my homepage, but I started to get some shortcuts added automatically and they bother me a lot. I tried removing them or deleting from history, but as soon as I click the button, one shortcuts gets removed and immediately gets swityched with another one automatically. So I'm stuck in the infinite loop of removing shortcuts and my manually added ones just get lost in all this mess.

I live in Las Vegas. Why does M Firefox post the wrong city with the weather at the top right corner of my browser window? It will not allow me to change it either. I drop it open, change the zip, press "enter" and it remains Tuscon.

One day there are no shortcuts on my firefox homepage, none show up when I open a new tab. In my settings, it shows I have set to allow 3 rows of shortcuts, but there are none! This is so totally inconvenient and I have spent hours trying to sort it out, so I might be bailing on Firefox as my default browser.

Some google search suggestions mention "clicking on the plus sign" to add a shortcut. THat opens a new tab but does not relate to shortcuts.

This is a snip from my Chrome homepage, with shortcuts. I used to have 3 rows in Firefox. Now there are none, and there is no plus sign to add one.
