I received this download from Firefox today, July 22, 2025: xRqj7qhl.html - Size: zero bytes - Kind: HTML text . I've never experienced this before. Is it legitimate? Thanks

Mac Tahoe 26.4. Any attempt to download or upload results in a file chooser/picker/browser panel that shows part of the finder interface but not all. Can't interact with it besides switching between sidebar items, no files visible, can't close or exit this window, can't interact with anything else. The only active button on the top of the window is the fullscreen button. Have to force quit firefox every time.

I tried troubleshoot mode and it did nothing. There is a workaround for some download links where I can open them in another tab and they automatically download without opening the window. Drag and drop options seem to work for uploads when they're available.

I took screenshots and was going to attach them, but this problem prevents me from doing that. This browser's sorta bricked for me at the moment.

Today I upgraded to v157 and since then can't download files properly. I thought it wasn't doing anything, but on checking my Downloads folder found that it was saving files in there but with random file names and adding .part to the end. My settings haven't changed, "always ask" is checked, but it doesn't ask me where to save, just puts it in Downloads. This has never happened before. I tried changing the file download location and it downloaded to the specified folder but still without asking). I can remove the .part and the file will open, but I don't know how to stop it doing this. I never had this problem before upgrading to 157. Can someone tell me how to fix this or is it a glitch in v157? Many thanks

I cannot download anything from any website when browsing on Firefox. My decision is therefore whether to download an older version of Firefox or use Safari just for downloading files, which means creating new links on Safari for all emails and other websites that I download from. This problem is since the update to Firefox 157.0 which has been several days now so seems to be permanent. Will this bug be fixed?

I restarted my computer tonight and when I came back to Firefox, I found myself unable to right-click "Save As" images. I click "Save As" and then the window for me to select a file path / rename the file etc. just doesn't pop up at all.

I also notice that on a site with a "Save PNG" button that should also bring up this window, it also now does nothing.

I Refreshed Firefox through the "More troubleshooting options" and strangely this enabled me to save ONE image with a "Save As" right-click/button, but then trying a second time went back to no window popping up. I refreshed twice like this and both times only the first attempt would work before all others would be unresponsive.

I'm running Firefox 157.0 on MacOS Tahoe 26.6.2. The same lack of result occurs in all websites. I restarted the computer (several times), reinstalled Firefox, tested in troubleshoot mode, checked download settings, deleted history, blah, blah, blah. Nothing has worked, except to skip Save Image As... and switch to drag-and-drop.

Why would this suddenly happen after decades and thousands of successful uses of Save Image As...?

What other options do I have to restore Save Image As...?

Since the latest update (157.0). I am no longer able to save images, I tried all the options in the community forums and still no help. I tried changing the download folder and I'm not able to select "choose". I click and click and nothing happens. When I right click on an image or video and click save image/video as, nothing happens. No directory box pops up. No download happens. Nothing. I removed all extensions and still nothing. Is this just a new update bug or is something wrong with my browser?

After my browser automatically updated to 157.0, when attempting to download files on MacOS 27 (Golden Gate) the download window does not populate but a .part file appears in the default download location.
