I want to be able to print my .docx files without saving them first. I went to General and Applications. .docx is not in the list, so I'm unable to select how it handles these files. How do I add .docx to the list of content types?

HI! I'm using Firefox 98 on Linux Ubuntu 20.04. after the last update I found several settings changed and I had to reset them, but there is one setting I can't manage. In the download preferences I set all the Microsoft Excel entries to "Always ask", but every time that I try to see an Excel file (no download, just open with ...), this is automatically downloaded. I definitively don't want to download it. How can I change this behavior? P.S.: I realized right now that there is the same problem with .docx files and I don't know how many others file types.

i'm using FF (version 98 at the moment) to print local files. It is key to me to edit header and footer for each print! the only solution i found so far to edit them at all, is to go to about:config and for example search for print.print_headerleft. Besides that is not usable at all, it simply doesn't work! The header and footer remain the same. Please tell me how can i change header and footer?

If you delete the, in my opinion much better "page setup", why don't you include all it's funktions in the new print dialog?

another problem is the size of the new print preview! it's much to small! make it resizeable please.

Or just give us back the "page setup". That would be a big advantage over chrome and edge, which suffer the same printing problems.

Many file types are no longer listed under Settings > Applications>Content Type at about:preferences#general. I used to be able to click on a file in an email like a Word or Excel document, and it would come up on my screen. Now Firefox asks me to Save them. I don't want to automatically save files without first looking at them. How can I get those file types in the Application list again?

I have attached a pic of the file types I have left to chose from. There used to be a lot more. How can I get back all the missing choices I have had there for years?

I've set up Firefox to ask before updating, so I was taken aback by the fact that today, an update was automatically installed without Firefox asking me... (I was updated from 97.x to 98.0)

It is especially frustrating, as the mandatory "Restart" screen is broken when using several profiles, at least under Debian.

I know Firefox recently changed some settings regarding automatic downloading of files, but I need to know how to stop Firefox from automatically downloading .pdf files that I view. Sometimes I just want to view a pdf without downloading the file. Firefox keeps automatically downloading the file, then after viewing it, I have to manually delete. I don't to do this! I just want to view the file and if I want to keep it, I'll save a copy. This is extremely annoying! Can I change the settings so that the file won't automatically save to my computer? Thanks

It has recently come to my attention that Mozilla may not continue to support Firefox browsers installed on Windows 7 computers after Jan. 2023, when the extended support for Windows 7 ends. Is that correct?

Will Firefox continue to work, but not receive security updates after that date?

Will Firefox still work on a Windows 7 computer that gets patches from 0Patch?

My address line is red, and their is an icon which say: browser is under remote control, reason: DevTools.

I am not sure how to fix this, or what to do about this. I do not know if I caused this myself. Please let me know if anybody can help.

Up until the latest FF release, opening an .ics (calendar file) link defaulted to the OS's preferred application; in my case Outlook. Now, every time I click on an .ics link FF asks where I want to save the file. I schedule ZOOM meetings all day and heavily rely on this feature.

I tried looking in FF's Files and Applications section in settings and .ics is not even listed as a file extension. I don't know how to add it.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

For the past several months, I've had increasingly worse graphical errors on Google Drive. At first it was only in a few documents, and now it's in every single document. These errors only occur on Firefox, no other browser. Text that I type is constantly blurry, oddly-sized, or oddly-spaced, with some letters touching while others have large gaps between them. I've also had some other small issues, like the document thinking that I'm two people and asking me if I want to see "the changes made my collaborators" when I'm the one currently typing (the documents aren't shared with anyone else, and there are never any changes beyond the ones I make), or showing my cursor highlighted with my name as if I were someone else watching myself type. It's made it more difficult for me to focus on work and I don't know what to do about it.

I've tried the following methods (most of them multiple times over the past months) to solve it, none of which worked: - Running the windows in safe mode - Uninstalling all add-ons and themes, clearing cookies and cache, and then restarting my computer - Uninstalling Firefox entirely, restarting my computer, then reinstalling it - Refreshing Firefox - Looking through pages like Firefox Task Manager and such (although the information there didn't really mean much to me, nothing looked out of the ordinary)

Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do about this? I was ignoring it for a while since it's still legible, but it's become really annoying, especially when it makes some words hard to read. Firefox 98.0.1 will not load some web pages that other browsers will. I get a message about Network Protocol Error with the option to "Try Again" which hasn't worked. I've tried many of the fixes suggested here but nothing changes. If I copy the link Firefox won't open and paste it in Brave or Opera the link loads fine. I don't want to quit Firefox but I can't spend time every day trying to fix it either.

Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help with this. I recently signed into a shared computer with my personal Firefox account, and it automatically imported all my history, my browser extensions, and bookmarks, including personal/secure information that I wouldn't want on a shared computer. I tried signing out and deleting the sites and login information, even going so far as to completely delete all of my browsing history and cookies and signing in with another account, but all the supposedly deleted history and logins and extensions were then transferred to this second account. I have deleted all my data, even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, and all the data from my personal account keeps haunting me as suggestions when I type in the task bar or suggested usernames when I log in to websites. How can I actually delete this information so it's not on a shared computer? Thank you!

The root problem is that when I try to open a movie in a web browser, I get the message "Oops. Your web browser is no longer supported. " see attached.

1370719 had a response that made no sense to me.

Is there anyway to fix this issue?

When I download an attachment from Gmail, I would like to just download it. However, Firefox now opens the attachment in a new tab before I can download it. Is this new? Is there a way to turn this off?

Dear Sir I went to an organization on 21/03/2022 for assistant on an issue, in processing the matter I need to open my yahoo mail box for the relate documents within my mail. A lady who assistant me use her lap top computer to open my mail box - I enter my pass word, then a window camp up to asked if I want to save my pass word (with dark color) or not,(with gray color) I was in a stage of rush I just click on right top Conner 'x' she took her computer to other room ( in where I can not see ) I was too naive and don't know if all of my mails had been read by them? - It is my privacy. When I got home I was worried and at next day I changed my yahoo mail pass word. As my pass words are saved within Firefox when I want to open a site it is auto fill the pass word. 1: Is my pass word will saved in that lady's computer? 2: Although I have changed my yahoo mail pass word is it safe? Can that lady able to get to Firefox to see my saved pass word and open my email box? - explore all my emails? Please help I am really worried. I look forward to hearing form you soon. Thank you. I am NOT a fan of this relatively new Full-screen mode at all unless I initiate it when watching a movie or in very few other instances. I don't like any device second-guessing or anticipating what I need to do and when or if it needs to do this for me. It has caused me more problems than it has helped, and injected some frustrating delays getting what I want done due to the added need and interruption of being paused to constantly press F11 again and again. It's not second nature and at this point, I don't think it will be. I don't need or want this feature and I don't understand this new world where features have to be nailed down and locked now with the "like it or lump it" mentality without option to remove or disabled this? (Sorry, I don't like MS Edge either, and not only for this reason!) I would be happy to go back to a previous version of Firefox that is without this feature, if this is the only answer. I'm hoping it is not?

There was a previous very brief post on here that directed users to go to about:config and set full-screen-api.enabled to false in order to disable this feature, but no one positively confirmed that it worked and the thread was closed. This doesn't appear to be working for me with the most current version of Firefox.

Is there someone who can help give me peace in my life again by showing me how to disable this permanently and forever? I know about F11 and don't ever want to have to press it again! I would appreciate any help, and you might even make my Christmas list if it works?

The behavior of FireFox saving PDF files has changed. I am using WIN10, FireFox 98.0.1 and have it setup to use windows default application and always ask where to save for PDFs.

BEFORE the problem: The PDF opens in Acrobat Pro IX. After clicking save I would be asked, where to save. I select the location to save the PDF. Then after this, subsequent PDFs downloaded would be saved to the last saved location. This process would repeat for a new website PDF load and save. This is the behavior I want now.

NOW with the problem: The PDF opens in Acrobat Pro IX. 1. Immediately, after a reboot, the save icon on Adobe is grayed out. I select save as and point to the desired directory. 2. For any subsequent PDF opened, the Adobe save icon is available. Files are saved to the desktop.

Please note I believe I once did get a popup asking where to save and I know I selected desktop.  Since that selection I am no longer asked where to save.

Please note I have looked and tried some of the suggestions at: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files#w_choose-a-different-download-folder

but some of this advice needs to be updated for the new FireFox version--ex no JSON file is found at the file location covered in the advice.

I believe this issue started after the last FireFox update. Please help me restore behavior listed above under “BEFORE the problem”. Thanks.

I just installed Add-on "Search by Image" with "Tin Eye". When I try to launch the program I get the Error Message, "Content scripts are not allowed on this page."

How do I correct this so that it works as advertised?
