I have the latest version of flash player installed and enabled. When I go to Adobe's test page, it recognizes the install and lists the correct version number, but the test animation at the top of the page fails to load properly. Also, the applications handler in Firefox's 'options' menu fails to list any flash compatible file types. On YouTube, I'm met with the video throbber stuck, unmoving, against a black rectangle. Right clicking the video and trying to view the 'settings' dialog does nothing.

I have tried deleting 'pluginreg.dat' and a number of other solutions I've found online, but nothing has made a difference. My other plugins (java, acrobat, etc.) all work fine. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Hi folks,

FYI: I have Firefox 33.0.3 running on a Dell Dimension 8300 with 1.5 GB RAM, running XP SP3. Until recently I never had a problem with any version of Firefox; I've used it since it first came out and ever since and kept it up-to-date. I use a Cricket modem to connect to the Web via the cell phone system. All this has worked perfectly until the last few months.

Now, when I'm online and try to print I get the default Windows "exclamation" sound and nothing happens. I've tried everything this site suggests and it works until I log on the next time. There is no problem with any other app. Lately I sometimes can't even save Web pages. I've reset Firefox several times, downloaded the newest version, etc Nothing helps. PLEASE don't make my use that horrible Microsoft browser!!!!!

Thanks for any help.

When i try to open new tab in Mozilla i got an avast alarm saying that Mozilla is trying to acess URL:MAL with this IP https://54.200.231.121 . The problem that this is a clean install of OS (got this problem before and than reinstalled win7). And no strange addons included. I disabled mozilla updates and any kind of reports (may be it's them, but still no luck) This problem occurs RANDOMLY, so not the all time i open a new tab this avast error opens. I'll contact avast support too, but there are no problems with Chrome.

So I updated to the latest version, which is 33 iirc. A few days since, I've been getting the reoccurring issue of smooth scrolling being sloppy. It doesn't lag at all, but it is noticeably not as smooth. Only way to revert back is to click on my mouse wheel to scroll up or down with, or open a new tab. But it's only temporary and soon goes back to being sloppy.

I've had issues like this in the past with previous versions of FF. Also, whenever I put my PC in sleep mode, wake it up and start up FF, it'll perform the same way as well.

It didn't used to do that before, so I'm confused as to why it's doing this. I very rarely install extensions or add-ons.

It's kind of hard to explain since I can't obviously show anyone exactly what it's doing, but it's still kind of annoying.

Thanks for the help!

I read the information given on the site about enabling Java Script, but it does not work. Under my tools/options menu, the site's instructions say to click on Firefox. There is no title of Firefox in my options box. Going through the list of General, Tabs, Content, Applications, Privacy, Security, Sync and Advanced, there is nothing under any of them titled Preferences or any box that says to enable anything. How do I enable Javascript for Firefox 33?

Part of my living is reviewing YouTube videos- I can't play any without this. Please help me. Thank you

I have not been able to open target or walmart websites for weeks in Firefox and now IE and Chrome as well ( all the latest versions updated). I have run various ( about 10 diff) malicious software removal tools from Microsoft,Spybot, malwarebytes, Mc Afee, Avast etc.... done manual registry key removal and restarts. and got a lovely 4-you.net redirect problem as a result and STILL cannot access those sites. My restore points only go back 3 days now ( how'd that happen?) so that's a bust. I want to throw this PC out a window. Anyone have a clue to what I am dealing with?

i just did a restore firefox action because i had a firefox message stating that could speed up my browser. After doing this, it has defaulted to putting my tabs on top. i really don't like tabs on top and want to change that setting. i read in one forum that i needed to change the setting in about:config. However I do not see the referenced tabsontop setting that was referenced. Ho can i remove tabs on top?

Bonus question: I have always liked having the description of the icons in the menu bar available. i.e. the home icon not only displays a house, but the text "home" as well.

thanks in advance for any assistance!

At the last count, 49 other people had this problem, and it hasn't been addressed properly. There were 16 other newly affected entries when I last looked. Firefox insists that the hotmail website is not a trusted connection, that is does not have a secure certificate, and (probably) as a result boots me out after a couple of minutes so I receive an error message "we can't conenct to outlook, please try later" I've tried adding an exception to the Firefox certificates, but am unable to do so, since it deletes the entry after I shut down the system (it will only do it on a "temporary" basis). Why should this happen now? I've used hotmail for years without problem.

It is as if it doesn't "see" the links at all and the options are for the main page. What is wrong? (I am sorry for my english, I hope I make sense!)

I am VERY happy after I was FORCED to uninstall the latest version of Firefox in order to regain my use of Kaspersky URL Advisor. That is one of the main reasons I have bought Kaspersky and I will NOT allow it to be disabled by the "new" Firefox browser. I also use Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, and while I like the convenience of Firefox .... I will STOP using Firefox if this constant barrage of insisting I update to the newest Firefox does not cease, as in STOP bothering me with something that I will NOT do.

If you want me and others to start using the "new" Firefox .... FIX it so that it works with Kaspersky URL Advisor!

Writing that it is the problem of Kaspersky not lonly does not solve the problem, but LOSES me and others to you browser.

Got it? > Mozilla goes away WAY before Kaspersky! W A K E U P !!

I use Firefox (version 33.03 right now) as my main web browser. Recently, a number of regularly visited sites have started acting strange. I am also getting random pop ups telling me that I need to update my video player, or Java version (my version is current). I checked the "add ons" in the control menu, nothing looks out of place (2 nVidia 3D Vision plugin, one VLC Web plug in, one OpenH264 plug in from Cisco). I fired up IE 11 to see if it had the same issue. It did. When I opened up IE's control menu, and went to "manage add-ons", it showed the SecureWeb BHO from a company called Jelbrus LLC. I disabled it in IE 11, and it is running properly. I have run Windows Defender on a full scan. It says it found 1 item, which it said it deleted. I ran the freeware version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. It says it found 2 registry problems, and a PUP (Probably Unwanted Program). Asked it to quarantine the problems. Problem still exists with Firefox, ONLY. My questions are: a) why is it not showing up as an add-on or extension or service? and b) How do I get rid of this?
