Embedded videos play on Safari but not Firefox. When I looked at the previous questions about this they were addressed in June 2012. Apparently it is happening again, at least in my case. Maybe it happened with the last upgrade, I don't know, but I never had this problem before. Would appreciate any input. I haven't changed any of my settings. Thanks.

Basically as the title says. The only sites this is an exception for is youtube as well as big streaming services but on youtube the video seems like it takes longer to buffer and has a lot more pauses.

I am on Version 117.0.1 which was installed on September 12th for me. I did not notice any issues prior.

I am on a macbook air which is updated to latest software.

I have tried the following:

Running it in troubleshoot mode. It did not fix the issue.

Turning on/off autoplay. It didn't work.

Clearing cookies/cache. Nothing.

Started firefox without a theme. Didn't do anything.

I unchecked "Use hardware acceleration when available." which did nothing.

Sites I have tried watching videos on include:

reddit

pornhub/other porn sites (for testing purposes...)

instagram

Vimeo

Firefox automatically updated on 18/09/2023. I now get the 'unable to connect' message for many bookmarked tabs (e.g. hotmail sign in). I have not changed any firefox settings and I can connect to the sites in Chrome. I'm running mac 10.15.7 Is this a bug or do I need to change a setting? Thanks in advance for help... Tim

I am told to disable pop-up blockers in order to have a payment verified. I do not know what pop-up blockers are, I do not know where they are. When I go to Settings and search for pop-up blockers, I am told "Sorry! There are no results in Settings for "pop-up blockers"; and instructed to visit Firefox Support. I have been sent on this circular quest three times now. Please help me.

Hi, I uninstalled my old firefox from macbook by going to the 'application' folder and dragging it into the bin I then installed a new firefox However now I have two firefox on my macbook - could anyone tell me how to solve this???

I've been a long-time fan of Firefox's bookmarks management system, but over the past year, I've encountered a persistent issue that's affecting my productivity. I regularly use the bookmark bar and organize my bookmarks into folders. However, any changes I make don't seem to stick and get reset after a period of time. This is especially frustrating as I heavily rely on bookmarks to keep my browsing organized. Problem Details

Here's what typically happens:

1. I add a bookmark to a specific folder or position, either in the general list of bookmarks or on the bookmark toolbar.
2. Sometime later, that bookmark leaves its designated position and moves to the bottom of the unsorted list of bookmarks.

Devices and Operating Systems

• MacBook M1 2020 running macOS Monterey
• Dell Alienware 17 r5 running Windows 10

Both devices have the latest version of Firefox installed, and I use Firefox Sync to keep my bookmarks and settings consistent across these devices. Suspicion

I suspect that this issue occurs when I make a change to bookmarks on one computer and then open Firefox on the other computer. The bookmarks seem to reset, possibly due to some issue with Firefox Sync.

Hi, Whenever I search something on google and then click into a website, something weird happens: In my search history, not only is there the actual website I visit, but also an additional google url (very long with no website name) I have no extension installed Has anyone encountered the same issue? I was trying to copy a you tube link and paste it into my hotmail email. Although I could paste the link into a search bar within the hotmail email page it wont let me paste it intoan actual new email I want to send. Ive reinstalled firefox with no success. This problem doesnt occur in chrome or safari. Any ideas? Thanks

I got these errors on my console when I load the page. Everything is correct, but after doing some actions (button clicks or text inputting), the web is crashing, and I get these errors in the console, and it starts infinitely reloading.

Currently on macOS Firefox 117.0.1 and in the last week I noticed I can't authenticate with my Yubikey anymore. The browser will prompt for the key ("touch your security key", etc.). While the prompt will go away after I activate my key, the browser window won't advance past the authentication page. Short story-- I haven't been able to use my Yubikey for any site recently.

So over this. Have been using FF for decades. Why FF does now randomly forget my previous session. Works fine for momths and then suddenly all previous session tabs are gone and recently closed windows loads a blank tab.

And yes, we have tried all the supposed fixes.

I have noticed that when watching video using Firefox (Youtube, Youtube TV, Netflix, Nebula) that randomly, the video will just cut to black and then fade in. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. A hack I found that fixes it is just entering/exiting fullscreen, which seems to "reset" the video player. I do not know what causes this, it just shows up when I am watching things. I have noticed that it seems to show up when a video cuts from a darker scene to a brighter scene, although this is not consistent. I am confident that Firefox is the issue because I have watched videos extensively in Chrome, where it does not show up. This also persists if I connect an external display and mirror or extend my screen to it.

I am using a 2023 Apple MacBook Pro 14", with the M2 Pro SoC. My OS is macOS Ventura 13.5.1 .

I have tried solutions that involve messing with the gfx.color-management settings in the about:config page. I also have hardware acceleration turned off, if that is possibly the cause.

Does anyone have any clue as to what causes this?

I am unable to log into facebook after inputting my password and 2FA. disabling all addons does not help. It is stuck on the "This was me" screen in an infinite loop.

I have used Firefox on a 27" MAC for many many years. In fact I have used Firefox on many macs since Firefox was first offered. As of the last update or browser upgrade offered by Mozilla for Firefox for Apple desktops, most all streaming video service no longer work. YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Netflix all stall after a minute or less of selecting a video from the above vendors. I get the little spinning arrow, and then a screen message that states that my ISP is not providing me with enough bandwidth to stream video. Absolute nonsense. Using Safari I have absolutely no issues, problems, stalls, buffering, error messages etc., and the experience is what I used to get from Firefox. I have lots of bandwidth available, and have had a professional network engineering service provider check my internet connection. Even if I make sure no other tabs, applications or other iterations are running, ONLY Firefox, it stalls and will not play video. Then I get another screen message that states that "maybe if you restart your device you may be able to play video". While I realize that Firefox is free, I still think I should have a reasonable expectation that it will continue to provide buffer, stall, and hang free performance when I want to watch YouTube, Amazon Prime and or Netflix.
