I'm using the vertical tabs feature. I also tried enabling the "Expand sidebar on hover" option, which minimizes the side bar, and only expands it when you hover on it.

Issue: I have a lot of open tabs, and I'm usually working with the ones at the bottom of the list. When the bar minimizes the scroll position resets back to the beginning. So, every time I want to select a tab, I have to scroll back down, which makes this feature very hard to use.

Expected behavior: After the vertical bar minimizes, and I hover again, it should keep the scroll position.

I would be grateful for some information on container behavior, i.e. I created "permanent" (as opposed to temporary) containers for sites where I want that site's cookies & site data preserved in a container, so I can click "Clear Cookies/History" (or "Clear... when Firefox closes) and the items stored in PERMANENT containers are left alone, while all else is deleted. "Clear ...." doesn't appear to be respecting the permanent containers I have set up precisely to preserve these sites' cookies & data.

I'm not sure what the point of Permanent Containers is, if not to preserve those sites' data, for the sites' later use when you set Firefox to Clear Cookies and Site Data whenever Firefox Closes (or Clear Cookies & Site Data with one click). I expected it to respect data in Permanent containers, as exceptions. Else why not just use separate Temporary Containers for everything? Why bother with Permanent Containers if everything is going to be deleted when Firefox closes, whether it's marked "Permanent" or not? Is there a solution for this? Thanks, -AnneF

Open any page with scrolling.

Try to scroll page via mouse-wheel

Result: Firefox crashes.

Hello, using Windows Version 22H2 (Build 19045.5965), Firefox 139.0.4, Thunderbird 139.0.2, I can drag multiple emails from Thunderbird but not drop them into Firefox (the stop symbol appears and does not let me finish the action). However, dragging and dropping single emails does work. Firefox does not understand the imap address but the drop is registered which is all that is relevant to me. Is this a bug/missing feature in Firefox or a problem with Thunderbird and Firefox on Windows? Or is there a way to do it by simply adjusting (preferrably very few) settings? Dragging and dropping multiple emails using Thunderbird and Firefox on Linux Mint works fine. Dragging and dropping multiple emails from the Windows Explorer to Firefox also works fine. In testing, the issue only arose using Thunderbird + Firefox, Chromium-based browsers also worked fine with Thunderbird. If this is the wrong forum to ask such a question because this should rather be in a bug tracker or something similar, please let me know. If this should be on the Thunderbird thread instead of Firefox, also let me know. Thank you for your help.

Clearly your crappy browser system won't stop crashing my tabs with its stupid updates randomly out of no where while I'm in the middle of working on something. I can't even report bugs in games anymore because I go to pastebin to post a crash log, and firefox decides to say 'RESTART FIREFOX TO CONTINUE USING' for no reason. I am very angry, this happens so often its ridiculous. I have updates set to "check and choose" and yet your browser keeps crashing all tabs all windows telling me to restart to continue using, and only today did I realize it said it was related to an update. This is unacceptable behavior. This browser is becoming unbearable. Crashing/updating in the middle of my work is very bad, and this is getting old. Obviously this time it was an unwarranted update, who knows if my browser has even been crashing at all. Just keeps getting disabled for your forced updates. I need them disabled, NOW. I choose when to update. NOT YOU.

When I go to view an already open tab it will sometimes randomly move it to the very end of my tabs all the way to the right. I don't want it to move tabs without my intervention. Clicking on a tab should keep it in place.

This has been an issue for about 2 months now. I'm not sure what's causing it or even if it's entirely a Firefox issue as I have noticed something similar happen in another program with tabs that I use often. It still seems like a Firefox issue in that moving a tab all the way to the end is a very specific task that can't normally be done accidentally.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening or has anyone figured it out?

Recently, every time I click anything, even to open my email messages, new junk tabs open in my browser and it automatically takes me there. It takes forever to do anything. I looked at my security and it seems fine as always. This has to stop soon or I need a new browser and I've loved this one for years. SOS

I need help resolving an issue related to browser navigation and the popstate event.

Here's the scenario:

• The user starts on page-1.html.
• They click a button, which navigates to page-2.html.
• When the user presses the browser back button (without clicking any button on the page), I want to trigger a JavaScript popstate event automatically.

Currently, I'm doing the following:

• When the user arrives at page-2.html from page-1.html, I show a popup.
• When the user closes the popup, I manually push a state using history.pushState() to create a backward URL entry.

However, my client’s requirement is to trigger the popstate event without requiring any user interaction on page-2.html, i.e., as soon as the user presses the back button.

Is there a way to programmatically achieve this behavior (ensuring the popstate event is fired) without requiring the user to click anything on page-2.html?

Any guidance or recommended approach would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I don't know what is going, but pages just can't opens. Mozila only working 2 minutes after rebooting PC, and after this don't work again. Internet connection is good. Thanks for help.

In the last month or so I'm having an issue where using autofill multiple times on a web form causes some of the autofilled inputs to disappear.

For example, if I autofill my contact info first, when I go to autofill my payment information, my contact info disappears. If I try to re-autofill my contact info, then my payment info disappears.

The lost autofill inputs still leave behind yellow boxes as if still containing the autofill text, but the boxes are empty and submitting forms like this will fail, so I'm certain the autofilled information is being removed and not simply going invisible or something.

Help! All my bookmarks have disappeared from the Firefox browser. I believe there has been a browser update done by Firefox. I found various ways to recover bookmarks and found a folder named 'old Firefox Data' on my desktop. But all files I try to import give me an error message stating that this file doesn't contain any bookmark data. I tried to import bookmark files and favicons.sqlite files. No luck. I now cannot access bookmarks accumulated for about 10 years. Really need to get them back into this new browser. Any advice highly appreciated.
