I use cryptographic module PKCS#11 to browse some sites. I load corresponding xxx.dll file : Options>advanced>Certificates>SecurityDevices>Load . The PKCS#11 device appears in the Device Manager list of devices. I can Log in this PKCS#11 reader and view data. "OK", View Certificates - I view this certificate. "OK" and quit Options menu. If I close the FF browser, these settings was lost and I have to install them manually again. How to save these settings ?

Youtube videos embedded in other pages do not work and only blank space is displayed but if I go to Youtube the videos play correctly. This only happens in one computer. In other computers running same Firefox 52.9.0 (32-bit), Win XP PRO SP3 this problem does not happen.
I guess it might be some configuration problem.
Add-Ons still disabled. When is the update??Firefox has an add-ons disabled issue since May 5th. I get a message ..."items" have been disabled.

I had version 50 or so set up this way, and then accidentally "updated" and had to reinstall from scratch.
I have done
Options > Applications > PDF > open in Adobe Acrobat
That gets me less than I want -- when I open a PDF, I get --
open a new tab
download the PDF through "save as" dialog box, and
leave the new tab white
What I want is what I used to get in the early 2000s --
-- the PDF open, in the tab, in Adobe Acrobat -- with the URL of the PDF in the address bar

I've had Setting> Advanced > Firefox Updates > Check for Updates > Never check for updates for years.
About a month ago, by accident (may daughter logged in to my computer on an account that she had't visited for years) Firefox updated. It's created havoc -- even Microsoft Word had to be reinstalled. I've easily lost two days of billable work over the last month trying to rebuild a stable workable configuration.
1. Is there a way to set something so that Firefox will POSITIVELY NEVER EVER EVER update? Can I set some file to some protected mode? Can I delete something? There hasn't been a feature added in about a decade that buys me anything that's worth a risk of 10 minutes of down time. I have deadlines that absolutely do not move, and I cannot afford the unpredictability of updates.
2. If I'm going to lock to some version, is there an "extended extended extended support" version that you recommend? Ideally, it'd be one that still gets security updates (like Windows XP did for many years, and for some security issues, even after the announced end of life in 2012), but I don't need that. I just need stability. Absolute, Rock of Gibraltar stability.

I'll be installing the latest release of Firefox and am unsure if there are compatibility issues to consider. Can I just use backup and restore to migrate the existing profile to the new computer? - I'm running Firefox ESR 52.9.0 (64-bit) in Kali Linux. - I have an IKEv2/IPsec VPN tunnel set up to a foreign VPN server with non-local-ISP DNS servers also hard coded in the resolv.conf file. - My local ISP is exercising internet censorship.
When trying to access a website that my local ISP is blocking with a browser other than Firefox, I can reach it fine. When trying via Firefox I get redirected to a page from my local ISP saying "this website is blocked blabla".
So Firefox is somehow leaking data outside of my VPN tunnel. As Firefox is my preferred browser I want to avoid having to ditch it.
Is there a setting in for instance about:config that needs adjusting?
I have been searching all over the web, but have been unsuccessful in finding the solution to this problem.
All suggestions are welcome - if more details are needed, just ask.

Firefox 45 and below doesnt do this, but 46 and up to including ver. 52 has these 3 pink boxes with 3numbers in each box that change with movement of the mouse around the page or browser window. It happens even in safe mode. The pink boxes appear also in any drop down menu or balloon tip etc. I am using XP SP3 32 bit. I would like to get rid of these artifacts because they are blocking my view etc of menu items etc.
My Firefox browser pages have suddenly started displaying Euro sign instead of $. Would like to fix that.

I have deleted I tunes as a temporary measure because I know this will be a necessary action before upgrading Windows. Thanks for any help.
