Google.com is my homepage in Firefox 62.0.2 (64-bit) It takes forever to load. I can go load Chrome where Google is also my homepage, come back to Firefox and still be waiting for Google to load.

When I login to gmail, I type my password and wait and wait and wait and then I get sent back to the login page and have to type my password again.

I need to speed this up. I prefer Firefox over Chrome, but Chrome is faster to use.

Hi, I am using Firefox 62.0.2 (64-bit) on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. I added into System settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts this keys: COPY CTRL + C CUT CTRL + X etc. I am also using a window keyboard. This shortcuts work on all apps. With my keyboard I am also able to use the "home", "end", "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys in all the apps.

All the apps except for firefox. In firefox none of this shortcuts and keys work. If I go to Firefox -> Edit I can see that the function copy etc are all associated with CTRL + C etc shortcuts. In addition if I do CTRL+C I can notice that the Edit menù entry get highlighted. What's the problem? I have also tried to restart my laptop but nothing happened

I had to make a new support.mozilla.org account because I can't get into my old one. I'm not sure if I'm remembering my username right, and I don't remember my password (and it seems it wasn't saved in my saved logins). I've tried sending reset e-mails to all the e-mail addresses I might have used for the account, multiple times, but none of them have received anything. I've checked the spam folders, and I don't have issues receiving other types of Firefox e-mails.

Scenario: using the default Google search from the address bar sends the query to Google.com instead of the user's localized Google.

This is a problem because the tools menu on Google.com does not include the country selector which allows a user to display local only results. For anyone, which is pretty much anyone outside of the US, this is an extremely useful feature for using Google and filtering results.

Currently the only solution I have found to fix this problem is to edit the google.xml file inside omni.ja file by changing the following line:

<Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="https://www.google.com/search" rel="searchform">

to:

<Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="https://www.google.co.za/search" rel="searchform">

However, this solution is less than ideal because because I will have to re-apply the change every time Firefox replaces omni.ja when it updates to a newer version. I have tried using addons to fix this problem, but I had issues in that either suggestions didn't work or the results defaulted to local results only.

Every other browser under the sun correctly redirects search terms to the country specific Google, so it would be great if Mozilla could join the party and fix an issue that has been plaguing Firefox for as long as I can remember.

For the last 2 weeks, firefox (62.0.2 (64-bit)) is constantly opening tabs with adds. I have completely wiped out and reinstalled firefox. I have run it without any extensions or add-ons except what is there by default when installing firefox. I am pretty certain it's malware. I tried everything described on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware to no avail. I do not browse any dodgy sites that I'm aware of. I do not play games on my computer at all. I ran a lot of different malware cleaners but they either don't find anything or whatever they do find and remove is not making a difference. I have a sophos firewall antivirus and it is not detecting anything either. I started using firefox private window but it will just open a new regular firefox window to display the add. I have installed adblock plus but it does not help. I installed Block Site to at least block the pages when they open up. As I am typing all this, a new window with a blocked add has opened up 4 times. I love firefox and would like to continue using it but I can not work like this and am switching to chrome until a resolution to this issue can be found. Please help!

Tried to change this but unable as it wants me to sign in and sends me a revalidation link. However as this is an old email address I won't received the link. Can't sign in with second email as it wants me to sign in with primary email.

Unable to set up new account as this email address is already in use (presumably as mt secondary email address on the old account) So what do I do?

Also its so annoying the security seems to have been set so high that every page tells me certificate not valid includi9ng firefox own page

I recently found out that according to the 62.0 changelog (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/62.0/releasenotes/), "Dark theme is automatically enabled in macOS 10.14 dark mode". This was news to me, since I'm on Firefox 62.0.2, and I'd been using Mojave for a few days, and f.lux automatically switches it to Dark Mode when the sun sets, and yet I'd never once seen Firefox switch to Dark Theme when this happened. I just restarted Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that helped, but it still isn't working.

My plugin container started occasionally failing early in September. It would launch and display Flash content, but it would fail when switching to a game or content in another page or tab. I could fix the new tab by using the Task Manager to End Task on the plugin container. It would re-launch, and with it the flash content would appear. It got worse and worse until now it will not even launch at all. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed Flash (enabling Flash with each re-install), refreshed Firefox, AND completely uninstalled and re-installed Firefox several times....nothing works

This started a couple weeks ago. At first I noticed that it was only happening when I used Facebook - any time I would share a Facebook post on my wall from the newsfeed, Firefox would lose the internet connection. Nothing would load at all in Firefox until I closed the browser and then opened it again, then it was fine...until I tried to share another post. Only when sharing posts and only in Firefox. While the internet connection was lost in the Firefox browser, I DID have an internet connection with the Chrome browser. That lasted about a day and it seems to have corrected itself, I don't have this problem when sharing Facebook posts anymore. However I have been having the same problem when performing certain other tasks - I noticed that it happens when I am trying to list an item for sale on eBay. Everything goes great until I get to the part where I need to upload photos. The internet connection is lost when trying to upload photos to eBay on Firefox. It (my internet connection) works just fine in Chrome while it won't work in Firefox and once I close Firefox and reopen it the internet connection returns. I noticed also that the same thing happens when I am playing instant win games in the Firefox browser - once I hit the "submit" button for whatever instant win game I am playing, once it tries to send my information...the internet connection is lost. Nothing will load in Firefox, but everything is fine at the same time on Chrome. So it seems to be a problem with me sending information somehow? I have no idea. I don't know why it would have "fixed itself" with the Facebook posting issue but not with the eBay or instant win game issue. I should clarify that it's not an issue with freezing, the browser does not freeze, it's only the internet connection that is lost. I have tried to wait it out to see if leaving the browser window open long enough would allow it to reconnect on its own, but it does not reconnect. I have to close the browser and open it back up to get the internet connection to work again.

I'm having an issue with updating Firefox 62.0.2 -> 62.0.3 on Win7. I updated through Help>About menu, and it downloads, but when it goes to restart, it does nothing...no error messages either. As far as I can tell, Firefox spawns updater.exe which immediately quits. After this Firefox no longer appears to work, and the only way I can get it to start again is to delete the AppData/Local/Mozilla/updates/ folder which prevents updater.exe from running.

The same thing happened going from 62.0.0 to 62.0.2, and I ended up downloading Firefox from the website and re-installing. I really prefer not to do this every time there's an update. Previously, updating through Firefox itself was fine and I never had any issues.

I used SysInternal's ProcMon to monitor file access and the only thing I see updater.exe do is load some DLL files and then immediately close itself. Also, it fails to find api-ms-win-core-fibers-l1-1-1.DLL, api-ms-win-core-localization-l1-2-1.DLL, and api-ms-win-appmodel-runtime-l1-1-2.DLL. Without any error messages or logs, missing DLLs is the only thing I can think of. Problem is I don't know how to find those DLLs (doing a web search for missing DLLs leads to all kind of bad sites). Also, I ran SFC /scannow (system file check) to check for corrupted DLLs but it didn't find any problems.

Some other info about my setup and Firefox install, that could potentially affect things:

  • I use mklink to symbolically link AppData\Roaming\Mozilla from my C: drive (SDD) to D: drive (regular HDD), but I've never had an issue with this. Updater.exe never gets to the point of reading any files from there though, so I doubt that's the problem.
  • I block outgoing connections in Windows Firewall with a list of application exceptions (firefox.exe and updater.exe are allowed). If I set this back to (the default) allowing all outgoing connection, updating Firefox still fails, so I don't think it's a network or firewall problem.
  • I set various browser settings through a user.js file, but I've tried creating a fresh new profile before updating, and it still didn't work, so I don't believe any of my settings are affecting it.
  • Windows 7 is completely up to date.
  • My antivirus software, Microsoft Security Essentials, is also updated, and I have no viruses or malware.

Firefox 62.0.2 (64-bit) OS X Mojave - 10.14 - live public full release (i.e. not the Beta) MacBook Pro, with menu bar

Example: Using Google, go to Images tab. Right click on an image and select "Save image as". If you click on the file name, as you want to change the name, FF freezes.

Not only does it freeze but right clicking on the icon in the Dock only shows "Quit" (not Force quit) and that does nothing. Furthermore, it locks you out from being able to use the Apple symbol (top left) to get to "Force quit" that way. Only solution I have found so far is a forced reboot (i.e. power off/on).

I can reproduce this every time.

If anyone wants more info just let me know what you want to know. I suspect that, given Mojave has only been live a few hours, that a lot more people might run into this in the coming days.
