Firefox 17 is not retaining cookie setting for websites. Besides removing all existing exceptions I had, it will no longer retain exceptions for cookies. I have the basic cookie setting as unchecked for accepting cookies (that is the default is not to accept cookies), but when I add an exception, it does not retain it when I close my browser. This is very serious stuff. I will have to move from my beloved Firefox to something that *does* work. I can't believe you haven't been flooded with complaints. Or maybe you have.

I see several cookies in the CCleaner cookies windows that I can't find anywhere else. These cookies do not appear in the cookies list under Firefox Settings, and Firefox is the only browser I use.

Some examples are connect.facebook.net, cdnjs.cloudfare.com, and login.wikimedia.org, and these cookies keep coming back after cleaning them up even though I haven't visited those sites and have 3rd-party cookies blocked in Firefox except from visited sites. Notice in the attached image that these cookies are listed in CCleaner, but they aren't listed in Firefox Settings.

Can anyone tell me where these cookies are stored and why I can't see them in Firefox Settings?

Until this week I easily handled my cookie preferences by NOT checking the "except cookies from sites" option. I then made exceptions to this default with the exceptions tab or through a cookie manager add-on. Since the last recent Firefox update, this no longer works. Nothing in cookie exceptions does anything. In addition to not letting me allow cookies, it will also not let me block cookies when I do check the "except cookies from sites" option. The Cookie Exceptions Do Nothing. I will appreciate any real help.

Just recently I've noticed that cookies from websites other than Google (e.g yahoo, etc) are not showing up in my privacy settings anymore. I was wondering why?

I have the "Tell websites I do not want to be tracked" checked (had this before as well). But before, I was still able to see the cookies from every site I've been too. Now only google's cookies show up even though I've been to other sites and able to log in to them

As of today, February 9, 2015 I am unable to connect to my Verizon Fios home page. When I click on the Firefox icon to open the browser, my bookmarks appear, etc. bit it will not connect to My Verizon home page. I am able to go to all the web sites that I want to but I cannot connect to Verizon. I called Verizon but they weren't able to help me, unfortunately. I hope that someone here will be able explain how to resolve this.

I tried using Google Chrome and was able to connect to Verizon's Email and News, therefore, I presume that this is a problem with Mozilla Firefox.

Thank you.

I am running Firefox 28.0 on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Every time I start Firefox (It crashes frequently) I get the same cookie prompts. On each one the "remember" box is checked. What does this "remember" box signify? If I tell Firefox that I do not want to save a cookie for site X, then I expect that Firefox will remember this, and if I visit the site again, then Firefox will not prompt me to ask if I want to save a cookie for that site.

Quite frequently, one has to delete cookies to resolve issues with a particular Web site.

In earlier versions of Firefox, "Show cookies" was more accessible. Now it's buried -- you have to choose the faux "Use custom settings for history" option from the Privacy>History drop-down. (I call it "faux" because settings are not retained, the drop-down reverts to Remember History.)

After choosing "Use custom settings for history", the "Show cookies" button appears, then you can go about your business deleting cookies.

I cannot understand why Mozilla has made such a commonly used feature so hard to find. Why the additional clicks to see the "Show Cookies" button? It doesn't seem to be part of the so-called custom settings either -- I've selected "Use custom settings for history" dozens if not hundreds of times and I still have to dig to see "Show cookies."

This is looking like bad usability to me -- or am I missing some rationale that justifies this decrease in utility from earlier FF versions?

PS I need to delete cookies so often, if I had my druthers, I'd put "Show cookies" in the History or Tools menu.

My Firefox (48esr) has started losing login status--especially for one site I visit frequently--when I close it and later restart. It did not formerly do this...logins were persistent if so set.

I did a bit back install a cookie manager extension that I did not like, and uninstalled it. I suspect it may have changed something in settings and not reverted them when I uninstalled...maybe.

Pic shows current cookie settings.

What do I need to change so login cookies are retained if set to on the site login page?
