Every time I go to Fox News, the video at the top of the page drops to the lower right-hand corner. It's an annoyance I've been searching for a way to eliminate. I have pop-ups blocked in preferences and I have a couple of different pop-up blockers, but nothing seems to work. I'm currently using Firefox 114b.09 on a Mac Desktop.

Whenever I use Firefox, I end up seeing popups (necessary for school) and would like to show them as tabs so I can merge them into other windows. I have tried the solutions given in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1080255 and nothing seemed to work. Is there another way to make sure that popup windows cannot hide the toolbar and show tabs?

When entering a local domain in the URL bar Firefox sends the request to a search engine instead of the DNS server. How can I stop this behaviour and switch back to how it was before?

Hi! I recently made the switch from Chrome to Firefox and Im liking it aside from this one thing. When Im watching a video in full screen, moving the cursor to the top doesnt pop up Macs top bar (File, Edit, ..... battery, time).

This sounds like a banality but I mainly watch videos while getting ready, working etc, and I really need to see the time! Im used to always keeping the cursor at the top to see it. I searched around in settings and forums but didnt find any fix. The only solution seems to be to not use full screen which I think we can all agree just sucks in a major way.

Im using MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 and Firefox 102.0.1. Is there a way to fix this or nah? Any info much appreciated!

I can't enable USB Devices on about:debugging setup page. I already installed ADB toolkit for MacOS, also I can see my device in ADB devices list: ``` ~% adb devices -l List of devices attached 013db356 device usb:336723968X product:OnePlus6T model:ONEPLUS_A6010 device:OnePlus6T transport_id:9 ```

On the device I've enabled "Remote debugging via USB". But when I click on "Enable USB Devices" button, nothing happens. I can see only "Updating..." message, then "Disabled" again.

Also no devices in the devices list, because USB Devices are disabled. "Refresh devices" does not make any changes.

My browser displays many websites, emails, etc. using a strange garbled font (see attached image for reference).

I already checked the preference setting for allowing websites to select their own fonts. The issue also persists in Troubleshooting mode. I have also used the "Inspect element" tool when this has occurred, also to no avail. I imagine at this point the only real solution is to delete and reinstall Firefox, but I'd love to hear if someone has another solution! Thanks!

Note that text in bold / italics often shows up just fine. I can also copy-paste any of this text and it displays correctly.

Help? I rebooted my machine and lost all my open tabs. any attempt to re-acquire them shows just the ones I have open now. It doesn't show any of the ones that were lost. Thanks Monica

With the upgrade to Firefox 106 on Mac, Private browsing windows open with a dark theme by default. How do I enable the light theme for Private browsing windows?

I use Private browsing at work for website testing, and the dark themed tabs / UI are much harder to read and use than with a light theme.

I've been watching and following along with a Unreal Engine 4 Course on Youtube for some time now (mentioning in case the resource usage has something to do with it), and in the past couple days I've noticed a pretty serious and annoying bug. When I pause the video, tab (Cmd + Tab on MacOS) into Unreal Engine, do some things, then tab back and resume the video, it will play for one frame and then stop and buffer, but the audio will continue playing. The only way to get the video to resume is to skip forward/backward in the video (either with the arrow keys or the progress bar). I've also tried Troubleshooting/Safe mode and the issue still persits.

When I use a vpn with firefox (not the firefox vpn), I cannot open normally blocked websites such as twitter or youtube, and instead they open in a sort of half-loaded state (see image). I don't face this problem with other browsers. I have tried deleting and reinstalling firefox, but it doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help out?

When I go into fullscreen on firefox macos, hovering near the top shows the traffic lights (fullscreen, minimize, close window buttons) and moves everything down. This may be expected behavior, but it is very annoying as when you try to open new tabs the tab bar moves out of the way of the traffic lights, and the traffic lights area is around the size of the tab bar. Is there any way to make the traffic lights always visible or keep them from moving?

How do I turn off web translation permanently for ALL pages in Firefox 118.0.1?? It´s the most annoying feature so far from Firefox. Even if I delete all languages in preferences, it shows up on every page I visit.

Hello, I am a user on Mac! I am having an issue with moving tabs fluidly. Yes, moving tabs inside the window is easy but when I move them outside the window, it makes me a little uncomfortable. In the images and video I have sent, you can see that an unnecessary thumbnail of the tab pops up even when I move the tabs inside the window. This makes it harder to know if I am even moving the tab in the first place. Then it takes like 2-5 seconds for the new window of the individual tab I moved to appear. If whatever I said is quite confusing which I apologize for, I would very much recommend taking a look at Google Chrome, the browser I don't prefer, however, try moving the tabs around and outside one window and creating more windows with individual tabs. It feels more fluid or swift and easy to handle. Compare that to Firefox and a big difference is to be seen. I am concerned about this issue really because I am replacing my previous browsers, not only Google Chrome but browsers like Edge too which are capable of not having that issue, with Firefox instead and hopefully Firefox can have this capability. I also multitask a lot so I usually encounter this problem on Firefox. I hope this is fixed and am sure it will help a lot of users! Thank you! Is there a way to permanently disable red underlining from Firefox spell check? This has only started occurring since an update to Firefox 110 (now on 112), but there seems to be no way to make it go away. I've unchecked the spelling box in preferences, and killed off things in about:config:

extensions.spellcheck.inline.max-misspellings 0 layout.spellcheckDefault 0 services.sync.prefs.sync.layout.spellcheckDefault false services.sync.prefs.sync.spellchecker.dictionary false

I'm using Mac Monterey, and have the global spell check turned off for that. This seems to be a problem specific to Firefox, as it doesn't happen in Chrome (spellcheck off) or Safari. I'd like to remove this entirely, since it's distracting to have it second guessing me whenever I'm typing. The main reason I use Firefox is that it gives me the ability to control many things, particularly in combination with UBlock, but I'm unable to make any progress in removing this persistent work disruption.

I am having an issue where youtube videos played at higher quality stutter when put to fullscreen. Up till about 720p60 works fine, at 1080p60 and above the framerate becomes unstable.

Things I have tried: - I have tried going into media.media-capabilities.enabled and changing it from false to true - I have set network.buffer.cache.size to 262144 - I have disabled all my plugins - I have tried changing my user agent to windows/chrome

Curiously, if I make a new firefox profile and play a video there, there is no stutter. Does anyone have ideas on how I can fix my current profile?

Clicking on the spacebar, does not produce a space between words, when typing text. I'm using a Mac Mini M1, on macOS Monterey (V 12.4), along with a Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard.

This happens randomly, for instance, on this very message. I previously posted a question regarding another problem that I came across with the same hardware and Firefox.

I found the solution to that problem by disabling an Extension in Firefox, however, I can't begin to think where to look for what setting, that may be causing my current problem.

I have noticed in the last few days that Firefox is keeping my Mac from sleeping. This seems to have started around the time of updating Firefox to version 113.0.2 which happened 4 days ago. Any thoughts on how to debug this?

I have tried disabling add-ons/ exensions, disabling auto-fill, downgrading security, reinstalling (even the ESR edition), deleting Firefox files from the library/application_support - but it doesn't simply work. Not sure if this is an OS issue.

Any ideas would really help. Getting the below info on the about:crashes each time:

This blue icon recently appeared in the upper left corner, and it's there even when I watch video full screen. Clicking on it doesn't do anything. What is it and how do I get rid of it when I want to watch video?
