Please help me restore my bookmarks and history - the update seems to have wiped everything clean. PLUS I have multiple Firefox icons appearing in my dock. MacBook Pro.

Hello, I recently downloaded Firefox and transferred all my data from Chrome to Firefox. Everything transferred well and for a day all my bookmarks were visible at the top of the page. Then I turned off bookmarks to only show on a new tab, and then later realized that the bookmarks were not being displayed on the new tab. And even when I turned bookmarks to always show on all tabs the bar is there but nothing is displayed. All my bookmarks are still in the Firefox Library and I can save new bookmarks to the library, but the bookmarks bar above still remains empty. Clicking Import and Backup in the Library and clicking Restore hasn't returned the bookmarks to the bookmarks bar. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I cannot figure out how to export my bookmarks from Mozilla Account. On the desktop browser when I open "Manage Bookmarks" and select Phil's Bookmarks, I am able to export the bookmarks from the Mozilla account.

The resulting html export file does not contain the bookmarks from Mozilla Account. There also does not seem to be a way to export those bookmarks from your online Mozilla Account interface.

How do I export the bookmarks from my Mozilla Account?

I have some javascript bookmarks (basically they just insert the current date in an appropriate place in the URL and then open it. Example at the bottom).

Both just clicking on these bookmark or left clicking and "open in new tab" or "open in new window" works as expected, that is,

• the computed URL is displayed in the address bar
• and the page is displayed.

So, fundamentally the javascript bookmarks work as I expect.

Now my problem: If I put this bookmark in a folder (either alone or together with other bookmarks), left click on the folder and select "open all bookmarks" it will open a new tab for each entry and the normal bookmarks are loaded in the tab as expected. But the tab corresponding to the javascript bookmark opens, and

• displays the javascript code (and not the computed URL)
• shows a blank page

What do I have to do that "open all bookmarks" also execute the javascript?

hi> run running win 10 pro64; just downloaded firefox fresh install. When "bookmarks" selected from drop down the software hangs and sometimes i get "unresposive". i have deleted places and favicons then reboot without joy.

Wanted to export some bookmarks, and couldn't figure out why (latest Firefox) Bookmarks "Library" was missing relevant buttons/menus. (Screenshots attached.)

After testing, found they actually are there, but have have almost no contrast vs background - that is when "Manage Bookmarks" is called from a Private window. But things look fine when called from a Standard window. (No extensions; same in Safe Mode.)

Can anyone advise?

A simple workaround is to bring a standard window to the front first, but am curious if this is Firefox on all systems? Only FF Linux? Only the particular (default) settings of my Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon installation, and display? Not even sure a Bookmark management window is ever meant to assume the theme of the foreground window (here Private browsing's dark).

I seem to have lost all of my bookmarks and passwords associated with my application, even though the message before I refreshed/restarted the application said that it would keep that important information, just remove things like themes and add on extensions. What do I do? I tried to go to manage bookmarks first, and under the import option, it says how many tabs were bookmarked or saves, or something, but when I go to click to restore it, it says it cannot be restored. I feel like its somewhere still there, and I really need some of that information. Any help is appreciated, thank you

I often use the cync, as its very a usefull tool, for when my pc crashes and I have to re-install windows. What is a real pain though, is even when I have the latest version of fire fox installed , after cync has completed, I stll get back many book marks that I have deleted well be before my last recync and with an older version of firefox. Which i find to be a real pain.

Would it not be possible to change the way cync works, ie, you cold add a button, words to the effect "cync from online to you", in that way, I know I am getting the book marks and data I sent up there last time, I cync-ed

Or to cync your data, when wishing to put all your latest bookmarks offline, would it not be possible to "clear online bookmars and data.

I understand that the "Bookmarks Menu" Icon (see attached pic) can be used and then: 2) "Manage Bookmarks" can be selected (to get to the "Manage Bookmarks" <selection> screen).

But is there a 1-click Icon solution to access "Manage Bookmarks" (other than the keyboard one)? Or is there a link address that would access the "Manage Bookmarks" screen directly?

Hello, I have tried all the results I have found here for fixing this issue and it still happens on a fully patched Mac. Also, unable to use the restore function as gives me the 'Unable to process the backup file' and it does not allow me to import a html backup file. I've also fully uninstalled and re-installed many times which result with the same problem. I've had this happen many dozens of times. This started happening maybe few months two ago.

I had hundreds of bookmarks. One week ago Microsoft Tech was on my computer and when finished had deleted apps including Firefox. When this happened my bookmarks (website pages) disappeared. These were specific pages I needed to save for the book I am writing. Is there a way to recover them? I tried the fix that is listed on the site, but it isn't applicable. I exclusively use Firefox and Duck Duck Go. Help!! Help!!

Hello, All along I have installed Firefox on my desktop pc with operating system Win. 7 and able to surf the internet etc. though I am aware that at my own risk that this is no longer supported. Recently there was a problem with my pc and I reinstalled Win 7 using the "Firefox Setup 115.4.0esr" where my Firefox account is now related to my gmail in accounts.google.com. From this NEW Firefox website all my previous bookmarks,history etc are not restored at all and instead it showed a fresh page on Bookmarks bar. Please let me know : 1). how to perform my PREVIOUS restoration of bookmarks, history etc ? I did not perform any "Sign in to Syn" because I fear that I will lose my previous bookmarks, history etc. 2). As a test only I keyed in my google accounts password in "Sign in to Syn" and was incorrect ? How can I retrieve/view my ORIGINAL password created in Firefox when I FIRST INSTALLED years ago ? 3). Does it mean that if my ORIGINAL password created can restore all my previous bookmarks, history etc if entered in "Sign in to Syn" ? 4). I DO NOT WISH TO change password because as per article read there is risk that I will lose some/all my previous bookmarks,history etc.

I changed computers and created a login to save bookmarks, it looked like this was accomplished but now on my new computer and after I login in Firefox it asks me to import but fire fox is not an option.

Why does my tool bar disappear after typing in website in search bar? Book marks appear when I open a new window, however as soon as I type something in the search bar or click on a website the book marks disappear. I have to open a new window for them to reappear again. I didn't change any settings, it happened on it's own. I've added a screen shot for when I open a new window (book marks appear) and a screen shot for when I've typed something in the search bar (book marks disappear). Thank you!
