Firefox no longer prompts when an update is available for download on Windows 11 (still seems to work on Windows 10 though). I have "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected in settings. On my Windows 10 machine, I always get prompted to download a new Firefox update. On Windows 11, nothing. I'd never know a new version was available if I hadn't already been prompted by Firefox on my Win 10 machine.

Outside of the OS, all the Firefox settings and addons are identical between the two machines. I do have sync on for Firefox. Notifications are turned on in Win 10 and Win 11, but Firefox isn't listed as an app in either to turn notifications off or on in Windows. Not certain why I'm notified on one computer but not the other regarding Firefox updates being available.

Issue seems to have begun with Firefox 110.

Tell me where are my bookmarks and how to get them back. The directions listed are not working. The problem started with horrendous slowness, which I tried to address with Troubleshooter. And then layout changed, bookmarks disappeared and on-line fixes are not working. Getting my bookmarks back is rather freaking important. Any productive solutions?

Hello, today I wanted to replace the "about:newtab" background with a picture.

I've already tried a lot like creating an extension, and adding the chrome folder with "userChrome.css" or "userContent.css" but I haven't had any luck whatsoever.

Could you help me in any way?

My preferred way would be through an extension to share it with my friends.

For some sites, it gives correct english password. But for a personal site, my password is shown as encrypted, which i have not encrypted. The password is shown, but i could not understand why it shows as encrypted with alpha numerical numbers. how do i turn that to english and keep this as a password. I have never supplied encrypted characters. please give me solution . Does the firefox auto encrypt why it is not user friendly then

Hello, There is a problem in actual Firefox update with scolling by mousewheele, scolling don't fuction!! It's getting on my nerve and take time to move crolling with curser!! Please fix this problem immediately bevor I switch to other browsesr!!! Thanks

I first created my FF account on the oldest laptop, then also logged the 2nd (new) on the same account.

There is no option that I can find from the account, to export the selected sync items from one, or to import them onto the other (I need to overwrite the few data there). I could not find such option within FF menu either.

Side issue: at one point, an option was visible to replace the default device names in the account... then when I wanted to do it, that option did not seem to exist any more. Do I have to remove those devices from the account if that was a one-time only option, and how?

We have an intranet site that works fine in Chrome and Edge, but does not load at all in Firefox. In Firefox, an authentication dialog appears, but after entering correct credentials, it just re-shows the same authentication dialog after a few seconds. This repeats indefinitely. There is no useful info (and pretty much no info of any kind) in the dev tools. I have tried Firefox in safe mode, with no changes to the behavior.

What steps can I try to debug this problem?

How can I fix or delete this erroneous post or may it be edited?

I can create a help page if it means anything to replace this technically and procedurally incorrect and misleading post. I saw it right away but for a newbie to firefox it could send them away screaming in frustration. A help webpage to address this question would be helpful and I can create one if needed. Or did I miss it?

I'm no longer able to share multiple documents through Dotloop. For years if you click mutliple files a new button pops up that says share and allows you to send all that has been checked, as of today I can say that no longer happens. I tried in Edge and it still works fine. See attached images, one from Firefox the other Edge

i tried changing any and all settings, clearing cache, using troubleshooting mode etc to no avail.

i use fedora 38 beta (it was also a problem on 37 stable) with ffmpeg installed.

i use biwarden, sponsorblock, ublock origin, stylus, google container, youtube shorts block and some custom css.

i am running a system with an i3 10105f, an rx 6600 and 16gb of ram.

firefox is installed with the version off of the firefox website.

reinstalling it worked briefly, but it broke again after a little bit of time.

Since the latest upgrade to 111.0.1 i am unable to copy and paste passwords from IT Glue.

IT Glue has a button to copy details to clipboard and when I do a paste I get [object promise]

Prior to recent updates, Firefox tabs that were opened from a link on a webpage would always open right next to the current tab. Which was fine and wonderful. Sadly, following recent version updates new tabs opened from links now tend to 'wonder' off to the far end of whatever other links may have also been opened previously from that site. The problem with this new behaviour is that such tabs quickly become lost amongst the various branches of the tree as other links are opened in 'child' tabs of links that have gone before. In short, this new behaviour results in a complete confusing mess, especially as the newly opened tabs may end up so far off to the right that it's difficult to find the way back to the page they were opened from! Please could you at least provide an option so the user can set new links to open right next to the current tab, as they used to do, rather than some no doubt logical but nonetheless baffling and impractical location some 6, 21 or even more tabs away from the current tab. When I reinstalled firefox, I had a complete sync on my Tablet (chrome), and my phone (Android).

I signed in using Authy as the MPA. my account came back as blank. I thought wierd. Then signed in again to my phone, It was also blanked, even though it showed previous website visits than no longer were in the profile.

I know have one device (Chrome book). with a complete profile and book mark list, along with passwords etc. Dont wanna sync, as it will wipe that as well. How can I get it to populate correctly.

I have made a feedback few times for this forum here, to have a Stay Signed In option.

Every so many minutes, I get to be signed out, most probably, as a security measure. This then requires me to log in each time, which is not all too bad, but still a bit annoying.

A "Stay Logged In" or "Keep Me Logged In" option is a normal thing on nigh all sites, it would be lovely to have it here as well?

Thoughts?

on my account page under security - password lists an 18 character password. my password was actually only 8 characters, so i changed it and is now 9 characters but the only password listed is still the 18 character.

I often look up links/webpages on my phone and then transfer them to Firefox to view later. In the past, when I opened a link in firefox, then dragged the link to a specific folder on the Bookmarks toolbar, it would display the header of the link as the "name" of it. Now, when I transfer a link to a folder on the Bookmarks toolbar, it always sets the URL of the link as the "name" of the bookmark. How do I make it so that when I drag a link to the bookmarks toolbar it saves with the header rather than the URL.

If this helps, I'm using MacOS most of the time.

I've attached an image of what it's like now. The header names are before, the urls are after.
