I've noticed recently that Firefox stopped playing YouTube videos and showing only black screen where supposed to be a video. So after a lot of research, many people claimed that this is flash player problem. I tried to install earlier version but that didn't change anything. So I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded older, but stable version (34.0.5). And voila! YouTube shows videos again. After a week I noticed that YouTube again shows black screen box. Unintentionally, I opened Revo Uninstall and saw that there's TWO Firefoxes installed - one is that I personally installed and another is newest Firefox 37.0.2. So I uninstalled latest Firefox, but unfortunately it also uninstalled my older version Firefox. So this time I again installed older Firefox (34.0.5) and made that it never look for updates and won't install them. YouTube started to play well. After a few days, again Youtube doesn't show videos, only sound plays, and you can see actual video frames by pointing cursor on video time line. So I checked installed applications and AGAIN found mysteriously installed latest Firefox with the old one. So can anybody help me to stop latest Firefox automatic installation and only leave the old one? Any solution would be very appreciated.

I'm trying to process a credit card payment for Norwegian Airlines. When taking me to the Verified by Visa page on my credit card account ( https://www.vpv.scddesjardins.com/ ) I get the secured connection failed page: "An error occurred during a connection to www.vpv.scddesjardins.com. SSL received a record with an incorrect Message Authentication Code. (Error code: ssl_error_bad_mac_read) " Their server seems to be still running SSL 3.0 and some other terrible things, but on another website I had this issue I got a different error message. Should I be contacting my credit card company, and if so what should I be asking them to do? I can't give a public page, obviously, and though I tried to test it on Chrome, they're charging me 7 EUR more for the flight on Chrome than Firefox (just another reason to use FF!).

On Wednesday I opened Firefox on my WORK computer (PC) after a long hiatus and it recommended I refresh Firefox since I hadn't used it in so long. It said it would preserve all my bookmarks, etc. Did so, everything was fine.

Yesterday I logged on to Firefox on my HOME computer (Mac) and then about a minute later my very detailed Bookmarks toolbar started to change and is missing tons of bookmarks and looks completely/different disorganized. I logged onto Firefox sync hoping it would look like my WORK computer again but it did not.

Today I'm back on my WORK computer. I logged into sync since I guess the refresh on Wednesday had logged me out. And now my WORK computer looks like the same bookmark mess as my HOME computer. I wanted it to sync the other way around - make my HOME computer look like my WORK computer!

How can I get my bookmarks back and make that happen? Thank you!

Upload just stop's in different states. Same problem in ff 34, and 37.0.2 (Linux). This problem occurs on google drive or similar services (disk.yandex.ru, cloud.mail.ru). Hope you will understand my runglish.

What happened to the Location bar in 37.xx

Now I have that long, long Search bar. With the Location bar I could see the link of the site I was on. I could also sent that link to someone if I wanted to.

With every upgrade, things get more complicated.

pretty simple, I go to the addons and it curtly says.......Norton Toolbar is incompatible with Firefox 38.0.1. So I have gon3 back to firefox version37.0.2 which I was warned has SERIOUS security problems.

Firefox is starting to sound like Microsoft in its "explanations". It worked before now when I upgrade it is suddenly not compatible.

We all know that the coders made a mistake in the nwest version.....so why not fix it. I am beginning to think I may go back to Internet Explorer ......

So Firefox, when will you make Firefox compatible with the extremely popular norton toolbar, ID Vault etc.

I don't think any settings users proipose will fix this...only MOZILLA can.

Separate but valid question: Searching Mozilla Support on this very forum yields no answers as to where to download the full version of the program itself, around which this entire forum has been set up with all the numerous questions in it about the program... yet there is no answer on how and where to actually *GET* the full version of the program... this strongly suggests that the forum administrators went out of their way, to make it difficult to impossible for users to get the FULL VERSION of the program...

There are many valid reasons for needing the full version of the program, don't you think it's pretty incredible that it has always been difficult to download the full version of Firefox? The old page had it buried in between the Acholi and Xhosa languages, even though English (US) is probably needed by millions of users vs. relatively few for Acholi and Xhosa... Millions of users had to go though gymnastics of finding it buried in between all the worlds languages with every consecutive version, and now they completely removed it even from that page...

What is the the reason, and you have to agree there is a reason, for Mozilla preventing us from having the full installation file? And what is the reason, even when the full installation file existed on that page, for this forum to make it almost impossible to find that page when searching the forum, or the entire internet for the official full version download page?

I install new firefox 37 which is not loading any website just wheel is scrolling, while in other browser internet is working fine, i try to solve out the problem but i could not.

i am using windows 8. before few days firefox was working fine. but suddenly it stoped at that time i update the firefox but cant, try in settings as given by the firefox support but than also i could not solve it.

when i close the firefox and again start it says that firefox is already running and to button are ther close firefox and cancle.

when i close firefox and again start it says profile is missing.

when i make it new and delete old one. fierefox will start but could not load any page.

When trying to open an html file firefox keeps opening the open file dialog in a new tab. I have run malware byte with no success. The file never opens.

Finally refreshed Firefox problem resolved...

I use half a dozen computers occasionally. It is not feasible to run hours of updates on all of them. Most of them are unusable with auto updates turned on. Adobe goes out of date weekly. There is no excuse for this. Either provide an option to disregard the date of the Adobe Flash, or I will dump Firefox and go to something else. The synchronized bookmarks are useful in my situation, but I can use Chrome, and it does NOT have this stubborn problem.

Firefox web browser has been hijacked again, 7, 8 and 9 April 2015. Pop ups, and websites appear when viewing web pages. Bogus web sites are on search pages.

When are you going to fix the problem which has been happening for the last three days?

I am always using firefox with many tabs and when closing firefox I leave them opened. Recently when I re-open firefox I get session restore window and everything is gone. But restore doesn't work as it should be and I am running my computer at an early date to get back my firefox again. I would be glad if you could help me on this issue.

Firefox 37.0.1 (fresh install) running on Windows 8.1 (also fresh): When I go to a website and fill out a contact form such as a support inquiry etc, and then I try to send or submit it, the app launcher opens and wants me to select an email program. In my previous versions of FF this did NOT happen! If I select an email program, once logged into it, all of the form information (and a WHOLE BUNCH of other CRAPPAGE) is crammed into one line...no help at all....plus I'm NOT trying to send an email !!!

I have all auto fill/auto save/auto anything turned off for security/safety reasons. My default email choice in Windows 8.1 is Yahoo, but again, I DO NOT WANT THIS TO OPEN WHEN SUBMITTING AN ONLINE FORM. Unfortunately, submitting the same form when using Internet Explorer works just fine......but I have FF for a reason !!!

Any HELP will be greatly appreciated but PLEASE DO NOT flame me with suggestions to turn on auto complete/auto save etc. or setting default email programs....doing so only wastes time for BOTH of us, as well as making it clear that your 'technical arrogance' prevented you from reading my ENTIRE post, and only giving it a cursory glance before posting your 'technically advanced and intellectually superior' response....which, given the nature of my stated issue will be incorrect. I apologize for the incisive nature of this paragraph, but as you may well imagine, I have had many negative experiences with 'technically and intellectually superior' beings. I am but a mere mortal.

I tried SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes but they didn't solve the problem. AOL email is the only place I'm having this problem and it's constantly happening while I have that email open. It will open up the same new tab time after time. This is actually a multi-faceted problem: just updated Firefox, and the tab count (count of open tabs, which used to be at the right end of the row of tabs, has disappeared.

I THINK I have Tab Mix Plus as an add-on; I also don't know how to look at my add-ons anymore. Clicking Add-Ons in the Tools menu just brings me to a web page where, apparently, I can pick add-ons and add them, but not, as far as I can see, inspect the status of the add-ons I currently have. Or did all of those disappear??? Gee.

If someone can help with this, that would be great.

My themes on Firefox were not working since god knows when. I downloaded fonts from Dafont and then my antivirus software detected a virus. I restarted the computer to continue with the virus clean up. I opened Firefox, and then and all the themes suddenly worked.

Can anyone explain this to me? I don't believe in chances in this situation.

I am using a pair of virtual servers running IIS 7. SSL 3.0 is disabled on both of them. FIrefox, starting with v37 is not allowing users to connect. Anybody else seeing this?

EDIT: I am updating my question because it is sure to come up for others. To disable SSL 3.0 on IIS 7, I used this:

It appeared not to work because firefox had cached the SSL version information and not just the cert. Clearing my cache fixed the problem. Unfortunately, this is going to continue to cause problems for my user base. It is a bad idea to use SSL 3.0. It is also a bad idea for FIrefox to cache the SSL version, IMHO, but there you go.

New Toshiba S50 Satellite PC laptop -- not Mac -- bought in the Netherlands, so had English language pack installed by dealer but they still loaded the Firefox--Dutch version (UGH!) ...uninstalled that and installed English version of Firefox, but bookmark settings are still appearing in Dutch....One user gave instructions for Mac (thanks) and have English appearing on all other apps and programs....
